Like I said its a projection. Do they project to be great picks no but you never know what can happen. Any of the knicks own picks could be bad. When we traded for Dejounte anybody in favor of DJ trade said "all those picks are gonna be late who cares trade em". And now fast forward two years and its possible that 2025 pick is an elite pick. You or I have no idea what the picks are and what the players become. Taking a worst case scenario approach that they can't hit the pick or get the worst ones makes no sense to me. Evaluating grimes for a player he is in New York when its a different situation and role he'd play here makes no sense (imagine the celtics said we don't want derrick white cause he's not great in his role in San antonio). Good teams buy low... Hawks granted it was Schlenk absolutely nailed the picks 18-20 with Huerter, JC, and Jalen but yeah Im sure we are guaranteed Anthony morrow or Mike Muscala. They overpaid for a barely top 60 player and now they gonna get slightly less than the actual market value for this player. Thats what happens when you put your chips and bet wrong. and like I said in previous quote the deal I heard is a different player for 1 less pick with clint in the deal. Clint has zero value. Absolutely zero. They will get off him in a deal with DJM if they want

the firsts in this hypothetical deal would be in years they don't have picks currently most likely. and like I said last I year this wasn't the deal. They revisited the deal with a player instead of 1 of the picks

Grimes who barely plays want 4/120. Come on that doesn't even make any sense LOL. He's gonna fit right in and be an excellent role player this team needed, Good defender and can knock down shots. I seriously question how much value you guys think DJM is worth. In what world is 3 assets in grimes and two firsts a bad package. You are not getting a better player than Murray back in a Murray deal. They aren't trying to win this season...stop trying to make trades with that objective in mind

That was the deal I heard very early in the sweepstakes. AJ wasn't mentioned to me at the time. Definitely think something like this is could happen but they are actually the team I mentioned the other day that was back in and the deal was different then this. It also included clint

On draft night they were gonna get the 20th pick for him and take cam whitmore but he kept falling and Houston decided to keep and make the pick

This is their hope for sure. I think they will end up surfacing the landscape and realize that person to fix them isn’t out there. I think the staff will have some very harsh conversations this summer

Hawks are getting value back just not the value you guys like and the value that will put them in a contender. This front office and Quin know they aren’t close to being a contender… they are gonna build it brick by brick and aren’t about to take another short cut unless someone they truly value is available. Not to mention KAT ties to the Knicks and what he’s done for minny they will send him to his preferred destination

This isn’t sourced by any means so pls take it at face value. But the reality is the hawks are headed full speed to a rebuild. The small whispers from trae camp of wanting San Antonio and then his post game comments are all planting the seed for a trade request to come in due time. And personally this is great for the hawks if they end up getting all their picks back. You build what Quin wants and get a chance at some A+ prospects in 2025 to 2026 class. The prospects in these classes have potential to be drop in guys. If Kobe and jalen are good you can build a contender pretty quickly.

The team I was referring to isn’t the jazz btw. Sothron was referring to them as one of his mystery team but that’s not who I heard is back in with a different package

The deals not being great are more so a sign of Murray value than anything. Plus Clint has zero value across the league. zero. He’s netting a second round pick at best alone. No matter when or who they trade Murray for they are getting what will be the equivalent of 2 firsts. Picks players or combination. They are gonna lose that 1 additional first they sent. You’re asking a lot to bank on KAT being available and having the best offer

I don’t really think siakam deal has any bearing on the speed a Murray deal gets done. I think it could help the value but hawks have discussed numerous frameworks and are prepared to move. Just need another team to be ready to pull trigger. I think it’s very likely Murray and Clint will be moved in same deal

Like sothron said a framework is on the table the team just has to accept. Really just depends on their urgency and if they convince themselves it’s not a lateral move. if that team decides it’s not worth it *at this point* I think they would still move him by the deadline and same goes for capela. I think both gonna be moved together. Dre is a tough one to gauge
