  1. Okay if you guys think the pick is going to be bad (I disagree) the market has it priced as a premium asset. If they move it in the summer for someone anyways why the heck does it matter if it’s good or not. It’s essentially a three team deal just happening a bit later. If the returns of djm get you the star to help you win now who cares about these 2 months. They should have played better and not ended their season half way through
  2. Also it just so happens to be 29 cause that’s the first pick the lakers can move. The further the better for the hawks and any team acquiring it
  3. OG is caa he was always gonna sign with the Knicks why would any other team trade for him and just risk him leaving? Them and lakers didn’t have discussions…comparing two trades when one team doesn’t have to engage and didn’t makes no sense. The hornets just traded for a 27 pick. Fans don’t think long term gms do even if they don’t have security. Every team has a plan you just want win now players for DJM and that doesn’t exist. And won’t exist. If they keep djm what do you think happens? They are not making any run this year. You don’t want win now moves you want win now this season moves and no move is helping this current team
  4. I mean sending Trae to San Antonio is preference and I think Trae is laying the seeds for that to happen. the organization currently isn’t viewing it like that and they want to build with Trae and jalen. So while the picks may be good or bad those are *currently* viewed as two elite assets by everybody. So you have those 2 + your 24 pick which could be very good + aj + salary to be used in dre and Clint (for now at least) to use to facilitate a star trade for KAT or Zion or bi or whoever it is. That’s without including kings pick you own so you can make selection. There is a package they can use to retool which is their mindset as of now. All this changes if Trae asks out but either way djm is a stepping stone to get to the player they want
  5. He’s worth the about same as og and og is way more valuable to a contender. Hawks were gonna get iq and rj for dj if he was eligible at the time. That’s two picks equivalent right there. Not many teams need guards
  6. The hawks traded 3 unprotected picks for Murray which was an overpay at the time. So immediately any murray package after isn’t going to net what an overpay for San Antonio did. They want 2 picks and a player and will essentially get that when dlo is flipped. That’s as best as it’s going to get. Stop trying to make a Murray trade improve the team because there is NO trade that does that. From here they will either trade Trae to San Antonio. Or they will flip a combination of those assets with their 24 picks into a KAT or Zion type in summer
  7. Dlo + 2029 pick (which is viewed as a premium pick) + 2030 swap is a good deal. You’re not getting a better deal anywhere. You guys are overvaluing Murray. Forget what we paid that’s a sunk cost at this point
  8. I said this the other day and it’s pretty clear the lakers are the leaders. Only hold up is who is taking d lo (who I think teams are personally viewing poorly since he’s been pretty good this year). But as more trades go down and teams show which direction they’re taking more and more teams can be that facilitator. I haven’t heard recently any new suitors or new packages. Favorites are lakers and Knicks
  9. Another team to keep an eye out on to facilitate the three teamer... the orlando magic
  10. DJM did ask out but I never heard any chatter that he gave them a list of preferred destinations. The Lakers connection is obvious one and would be a top of his list Id imagine but don't think he gave them spots.
  11. Sourced: Lakers are the leaders in the clubhouse for DJM followed by the Knicks. Brooklyn might be the third team involved for D LO with hawks getting Dinshittie expiring which funny enough they might also move to a fourth team for a different player and expiring... Unsourced: Wouldn't shock me if they combine all these picks and assets into Zion in the summer.
  12. I haven't heard anything has gone down or will imminently but there is some odd stuff going on in LA locker room after yesterday game. A lot of cryptic stuff from that locker room and hawks are currently on a mini west coast trip. something to keep an eye on
  13. The options for where Trae is going are very limited. San Antonio to get our picks back is a top the list. They get the picks back then they are prime to rebuild. I know some fans won't like that but trae value isn't like these other packages people have gotten. They might get more from the spurs but they aren't get 5 picks and young talent type deal.
  14. I been trying to tell them this lol. Always seems like the plan has been to rebuild
  15. I could see them making a legit push for Zion. And I could see Zion having atl at the top of his wish list
  16. pelicans are a team I’d keep an eye out for given they are kinda hawks west in their ownership is cost cutting and they likely will need a shake up in core.
  17. I heard that Trae who was indeed sick was leaning to play against the heat but they told him stay at home so they can showcase to teams DJ’s value as a pg. like I said weeks ago he asked out. There is no plans to retain him. Could he survive the deadline sure but he won’t be surviving the summer. I think they try to put Dre and Clint who nobody in league values in a djm deal.
  18. To be clear I’m not saying that core will make the playoffs next year. I’m just saying in general building a playoff team is easy and if they surrounded an x amount if players they define as their core with good vets they can push for it. If they trade Trae they are bottoming out with cooper and ace in mind If you’re trading Trae you’re trading both of them. No benefit of having Murray at all. He puts you in a spot you’re not good enough to make playoffs and not bad enough to get top 5 odds
  19. Definitely wishful thinking but aye teams that have been trading their stars away have been rewarded with it lately. Basketball gods (or Adam silver) could bless us sometime lol
  20. Hawks fans can leave. Cooper/Ace will bring new ones. Tony likely won’t be on board until trade forces his hand but I know Quin Korver and Landry know this is the best path
  21. Building a playoff team easy imo. Hawks core of Bufkin Jalen and whoever they add this draft and say in 2025 could do that with vets around. Those teams just don’t realize how to build and continue to bad swings at bat. Building a contender is the hard part. I want us to do the latter What you mean? We’d have lottery picks back from the Trae trade
  22. I’m not kidding when I say with some luck they’d be a playoff team in 2 seasons max. They just need the balls to fall nicely in 2025 or 2026. 2026 especially has two guys that have best in world potential. Hawks fans can be demoralized all they want but it’s what’s best for the future and winning titles. Trae era as a 1 won’t do that
  23. Chris Haynes had a quote circling on twitter about Trae wanting to play for a contender and he hopes this trade can help them do that. the internal pressure has reached the media. Imagine a trade request will come soon maybe as early as the summer. He’s gonna find a way to get to San Antonio and hawks will finally rebuild like they should
  24. The game is the game lol.
  25. I am HIM Sothron lol jk. But thank you for the corroboration. I don't even think my source follows these message boards and he certainly didn't tell me to keep this under wraps.
