  1. I mean he was pretty much handcuffed to signing him. Nate never wanted the job to begin with and then he finally won a playoff series because of trae and then doc collapsed. Imagine the pr nightmare when you dont resign the coach after that mid season turn around and your star player endorses the hire publicly before they extended him... Now its travis job to move off immediately and hire the guy HE wants
  2. I dont understand why you guys are grading a gm that took a roster of jc and bums and made it to a very solid roster in 3 years. You guys should be grading that idiot that hasn't won anything ever in his career and the hawks stupidly resigned in the offseason. Nate mcmillian is the issue not travis schlenk
  3. Nate is not fine lol. He has not adapted is schemes to fit modern basketball and it is part of the reason our record is as bad as it is this year. He started the season having our shot profile dominated by mid range shots when that is not what our personnel or the league is built for. Not to mention on defense we don't adopt any modern defensive schemes and instead continue to give up the three ball to every team we play. He gave it up last year too but got lucky teams were just missing their shots against us...no longer the case Theres a reason he never won a playoff series before last year. Hes a terrible coach and if it wasn't for doc rivers choking like he does every year we likely wouldn't have even extended him. Trae gave his stamp of approval for this loser and now all of us fans have to suffer
  4. nobody is saying you take away from his strengths or get the ball out of his hands. But there is aspect of the motion offense that Kenny could bring to our current offense. This will be a spread pick and roll team for a while but they can add layers of motion to it whether that is with the bench or a couple minutes with trae. He also will bring a much more forward thinking approach to the team unlike nate who lives in the 2000's era of basketball Nate also raised defensive floors before but he has never adapted his schemes to the current nba. Thats why our defense is so terrible. He refuses to protect the three ball and teams just let it fly against us. They got lucky last year that teams were just missing three pointers against us. Not the case this year. He also doesn't incorporate switching nearly enough to his schemes. Hes not good at all and they need to move off him immediately if they ever want to win anything.
  5. Maybe but trae has to learn to adapt. We have seen flashes off his off ball play and I am a believer he would do it more and be good at it if they had a legit playmaker next to him. It would not be successful with the current roster construction but this roster will look a lot different in a couple months imo
  6. Plenty of great options. Schlenk got handcuffed into resigning him because of how far they went. I don't think he had any intentions to resign nate, heck nate didn't even want the job when they fired Lloyd. But because of a deep run it would have been a pr nightmare if they hired someone else. They should be immediately talking with kenny atkison and bringing him back to the A. If not theres other options; darvin ham, charles lee, possibly quinn snyder
  7. Nate Mcmillian's ATO plays might be some of the worst I have ever seen... Had two possessions with the lead and did nothing with it. Overall not a terrible lost considering what we were stacked up against but they should have won that game
  8. I agree Bogi should start but too much is made of who is the starter and who isn't. You know whats more important who is closing the games and Bogi has been closing every game since they moved him to the bench. He has also himself said time and time again in interviews since that first one that he is okay with coming off the bench and okay with sacraficing. Hes better than kevin and should start, but he is on the court when it matters the most and hes been playing great. I don't think he requests a trade for this very reason. If they move him its cause they need his contract imo
  9. Not on here but its draped all over my twitter lol
  10. This game and the entire season have been an indictment on nate mcmillian. He did not run his own system last year (added some of his own wrinkles) and it worked. This season he started the season running his offense with too many mid range shots and we started 4-9. And he has yet to change his defensive scheme all year. Prioritizing the paint over three point shooting. Our players constantly over help giving up wide open threes time and time again. The scheme is trash and this is what happens when you add a loser to be the head coach. As long as he is the head coach you guys can kiss a championship good bye. We are first round exits if we even can make the playoffs in a deep east. This dude is absolute garbage and I said time and time again they should not hire him.
  11. Mobley is a generational prospect and as you said scottie is another high pick. Ayo was one of the most nba ready prospects and I was all for the hawks taking him (they were linked too, I guess they did not expect jalen to fall, as travis mentioned at the introductory conference). Herb and cam are two examples out of 45+ picks. Rookies are generally bad and do not help, every year there will be those anomalies. I think its just time for the hawks to shift their draft philosophy from best player available to best fit.
  12. You gotta remember most rookies generally suck and do not impact winning. Brad Rowland says it all the time. Jalen was always a project when we drafted him and sharife is not good right now at all. These things take time and the hawks did not draft nba ready propsects. Them playing does not help us win this season at all
  13. Nate was asked if he thinks the roster would be in tact today and said yes... All reporting sounds like we won't be making a move today
  14. Well ingles just got traded. so that kills the gallo to utah deal
  15. Lol i too have a simmons obsession and just hope the hawks can get involved somehow and nab him from Brooklyn. I dont think there is a plan B aside from Jalen Johnson taking major leaps in the offseason
  16. True I just question the fit with that team and whether or not he would even want to be there.
  17. With all the recent news flying in about a simmons and harden deal looking more likely. Do you guys think the hawks could get involved with simmons coming here and we sending them win now pieces?
  18. I'd likely discredit it. They don't have much they can offer. Also Sarah K Spencer tweeted during the game that from league sources she believes the hawks will stay put. A lot could change in these last 48 hours but I imagine they won't do much until the offseason
  19. Chris Kirschner mentioned the hawks have discussed marcus smart. A bogi/smart framework was discussed
  20. CJ McCollum joining the hawks does not help them reach the ultimate goal. It just helps them get to the playoffs (if even that cause they won't stop anybody). It is a horrible move and one that gets you stuck in mediocrity
  21. If huerter is holding things up for a ben simmons trade, schlenk needs to do it.
  22. This times 1000. People think getting CJ is a good idea because we lack shot creation/playmaking aside from Trae. Wait till you see McCollum on defense and have to hide trae with a 6'4 guard aside him. The bottom 5 defense already would almost guarantee fall to 30th
  23. Easily the most frustrating loss of the season. Had luka and brunson in foul trouble and just did not take advantage of a team missing three of its best players.
  24. I would do it too just I struggle to see what the starting lineup would be. Simmons can't start at the 5. JC absolutely can't start at the 5. If you acquire simmons then he is your starting 3 with hunter at the 2? The lineup of trae hunter simmons jc capela/big O works just weird to think of hunter as a two guard.
  25. I have the same worries. Bogi is clearly better and he should absolutely be the starter. People are going crazy that hes playing well only cause hes with the bench but the reality is he finally looks healthy. We saw what he did healthy last year. One way to not make him go sour is let him close with the starters like he did against the celtics.
