  1. Help me understand this, Masai. If FVV is a $40M player, OG is this untouchable piece of marble, Siakam requires the world + Bufkin and a 1st to pick up the phone, Jakob Poeltl is a $20M guy, and Scottie Barnes is the next big thing, why didn’t you dominate the Eastern conference?
  2. I agree, but can’t we find a cheaper player to fill this reduced role?
  3. Heck, yes (with extension). Would need to sign a veteran big and a veteran guard with some defensive ability…
  4. Absolutely, bleach. I’m not against trading Murray. Siakam is in a similar position. A risk both ways for sure…
  5. This could very well be the reason Atlanta hasn’t been active. Posturing for the deal we really want.
  6. If the max going out is Hunter/Capela, sure. Otherwise, I’m not sure how it would work while managing future salary and proper roster depth. AJ, JJ, Bufkin, SAC 1st, etc., are all needed to fill the roster with players that are expected to play a productive role in the future. A poor trade with Toronto and they jump us in the Eastern standings. Why do that? I think Hunter/DJ is definitely too much for Siakam unless extended at a relatively reasonable rate. **I hope we can steal Kyle Anderson at a reasonable cost on the FA market as a Jack-of-all-trades role player. He has a considerably worse 3P% and less post-up scoring game than Collins while more skilled in many other areas.
  7. Whatever it is, I just want to see continuous motion…. Everyone touches the ball and makes a quick decision.
  8. Having said that, I would be disappointed with Hunter/DJ for KAT. I might even be disappointed with Hunter/Capela for KAT. Considering the contracts going out this year, Hunter and Capela look like ‘reasonable’ value (Capela more). This should increase their trade value once teams hit their financial flexibility ceiling but still have glaring holes to fill.
  9. Flaming for patiently explaining a concept? Not at all — thanks.
  10. Sounds good — Let teams mortgage their future on <= mediocre players and then pounce on teams with pressure to make specific types of deals without the requisite resources or flexibility (that we possess with talent and a large TPE). If we see any kind of potential/role for the Houston players (which I assume we do), I’m a supporter of the trade today.
  11. Then we help Spurs become another dynasty with high Atlanta picks and pick swaps…. Maybe Landry in the front office is a cautionary tale…
  12. Honor while detrimental to your own team? Hmm… I hope Portland can get out of the Jerami Grant deal. Just roll with Scoot, Sharpe, Simons, and whatever comes from Lillard. They need front court players — not Herro.
  13. What draft picks and young players do we have that we are going to give up for PG? (great player— too expensive and oft injured) I consider OO, JJ, Griff, and the rookies to be our young players. Certainly hope we don’t give up any of them for an expensive PG rental as a non-contender. We’ve already mortgaged our future drafts on Murray.
  14. What does that mean exactly? Still pay too much for PG? Sounds like the same dish made in a different skillet.
  15. Why not say, “No”? Team wants to avoid a negative reputation of being unwilling to be taken advantage of?
  16. For what? I don’t understand why teams deal with Miami. Does Pat Riley have dirt on other owners?
  17. Not new! Just new account, but thank you for filling me in. I’ve been around since the DerMarr Johnson draft.
  18. Oh yeah — Pay up Western Conference Sure, New Orleans — I will take Jonas V, Jordan Hawkins, and a 1st.
  19. If we go to a more unselfish, ball movement offense, why invest so much in two ball-dominate guards? Their value won’t likely be maximized. **Another reason I would prefer to avoid KAT (Siakam over KAT if it came to it)
  20. Correct — This was more a comment regarding culture, values, etc. Thank you for your articulation.
  21. Wow — These Miami-system products are doing well. I wonder which guys the Miami front office will find bathing on South Beach to fill their roster next season.
