I have watched several games in HD on comcast. It used to be 876 for MOJO but they changed it a few games back. It is now 848 and yes the first game when i turned to it, it froze on me. I think that only home games are in HD and not all of them at that. I have not seen an away game in HD. On Hawks.com's schedule they have all of the HD games listed but they don't show the channel.

Yes the Spirit squad is out there but they are missing something from years past...they are missing the FREE STUFF. I mean where are the t-shirts, the free tickets from the floating blimp, the thunder sticks, posters etc. Have you noticed the lack of promotions for games lately. No bobble-heads no cups. Nothing to cheer for. My sons were at the game going horse screaming and booing and what did they get a bull horn with out a hawks symbol or word anywhere. I have been to about 6 games this year and have only seen them shoot t-shirts once. I have a room full of free stuff from games of past but this year all I have is a car flag a towel and a new Dominique bobble head that came with a $50 purchase. We need more free stuff and that always gets the crowd going.

In a game when Shaq causing foul troubles for all of our bigs. Why can't we get solo some pt. If for no other reason but to suck up some of the fouls. Am I missing something is Solo that bad?

Hey lawstudent I have a question. I don't believe in banning but I want to understand what you are about. Staying within your mindset. I am sure there are members of this site who's economic status far shadows someone who's prize possessions is a 350z. Would you be humbled and accepting of their suggesting that you were poor because you are not able/willing to spare funds on a material possession that they may have? I would just like to know how you would handle that. Or do you believe that your bank account is infinite and no one has more money than you. Not even any of your NBA idles? Also if your cheese is stacked that tall what would you need with a career?

Why wast time going to school. And why in the heck would you buy a 350Z when there are so many better cars available in many different economic classes?

I was there. I have noticed that a weekday crowd is never as good as a weekend crowd. I have been to both home games and By far the Dallas game was louder. Atlanta is still a pretty crowd it takes a lot to get them started. I did love that crowd at the dallas game. I will be at the games next Wed and Sun I will test this theary again.

and since I have to watch on TV does anyone know if we are able to watch the Hawks in HD? If you have League pass is it in HD?

So to put a bottom line on things. Is it safe to say that if Nique needed support from the Squawk to become Coach of the Hawks if the need arises, he would be hard press to find it here?

Thats just it, over the years the bar for improvement has drasticly lowered. I asked why Billy and Woody have so much security with the owneres? He said they don't, if we have another bad start I.E 2-8, Heads will roll. The way I see it is if we do start off that bad, with the team we have now it will not last. I think that would be a gelling process carried over from preseason. With that said and the fact that It does not take a hell of a lot to improve from last season How bad can Nique look. He told me he worked with Josh Smith for 15 min and changed his whole prospective on Basketball. He told me that he was the reason for The JS change the second half of the season. If that is true then Imagin what he could do with the team for even half a season. Granted he would work better with our bigger men and may leave our back court a little shabby. But isn't our team 70% or better big men. I mean Nique did not have the best handles in the NBA, but he could sure show us some postup moves.

I had a nice long conversation with Nique last week. It was a real talk type conversation where he told me how he really felt and not the typical superstar fan convo. With that in mind I will not discuss the details of the conversation because I am not sure that what he told me would exactly make him employee of the month. But we did discuss his thoughts on being a coach or part of the coaching staff. I know when we brought this up before there were mixed feelings. I just wanted to know what the opinnion of the board was to date. We talked about HawkSquawk he told me that the front office is well aware of Hawksquawk and the opinion of the fans are heavily concidered when making decisions. He told me that in order for him to become coach the "City" would have to get behind him. The City would have be heard. I just wonder what the city (Fans) would have to say when they are heard.

But does anyone have a picture of a players new Jersey? Like The Josh's or the Williams. I know what they have on Hawks.com and NBA.com but I want to see a players jersey. Also am I understanding correctly that the home jersey will have Hawks and the Away Jersey will have Atlanta on it?

I would love to come out and play but during the week would be hard as I work in Macon. I leave work at 5pm usually getting to the south side of ATL about 6pm. I could change before I leave but the best I could do is 6:30 and since it closes at 7 I won't even have time to warm up.

I am glad you brought the fouls up. What is a foul? Looked it up on NBA.com and they give it as:

"A common personal foul is illegal physical contact which occurs with an opponent

after the ball has become live or before the horn sounds to end the period."

"Blocking is illegal personal contact which impedes the progress of an opponent"

"An offensive foul is illegal contact, committed by an offensive player, after the ball is

live and there is team control."

I guess my question now is what is "legal contact"? How much room for error does this leave us?

If Stern admits there is a problem especialy if he admits there is superstar treatment, then the Jordan's and Kobe's and Birds suddanly loose status. If he does or says nothing then he Stern looses trust and the league will forever be suspect even more so now and will ineveitably loose fans and money.

I was not trying to say I think they should raise the bar as that would be just as bad as lowering the bar. I was trying to say if there is to be any difference in treatment that should be it.

I never understood the reasoning behind the star treatment anyway. In any other arena a person that excels is usually greeted with a more challenging task. In Sports mostly the NBA the person that excels usually gets the easier task. It is like people with the most money getting free and discounted merchandise. Where does this thinking come from anyway? I think if you excel in basketball you should get less calls as you are head and shoulders above the competition.

Thats exactly why in the past I would not purchase a Jersey. As soon as you spend the money that person is no longer on your team. I guess that comes from having no real stars. I get so tired of seeing Reef and JT jerseys it sickens me. So I just by them for the season now(hopefully beyond). Since I go to enough games to get some ware out of them. Then I will retire them up in the rafters of my hawks room.

Because I am strange like this, I will do like the last style and my first jersey will probably be Salim Stoudamire if he is still here. Then I will probably go with Solomon Jones. After that I will go down the list with Joe, JS, Horford, Chill, Law......until I get in trouble and wifie tells me I can't buy anymore I have to many.

I don't care how professional you are or how much of an adult you are. At some point the immaturity in you will show. I just don't see a grown man, being told what he can not do when he wants to do it, can come in and give you 110%. Thus the disgruntled employee affect. If these are vital pieces to your puzzle then why would you want them in your organization half azzing around? We had bad enough a coaching situation in Atlanta now they don't even want to be here and are being held against their will.........Some how playoff contender just does not seem to get me all goosie right now.

I guess this would be assuming we don't trade away some of those contracts by next year.

If we buy someone out of a contract I.E Speedy, how does that work?
