  1. I know this is kind of off subject, but are any of you guys watching the Pistons-Suns game? It is halftime and the Suns are having their way with the Pistons. Watching this really makes me want a PG that can break down a defense. Boris Diaw already has 11 pts. The Suns are shooting ~69% as a team. Nash only has one point, but everyone else is scoring at will b/c he ALWAYS sets them up. And he never turns it over.

Oh, and by the way, Delk is playing good for the Pistons, too. Maybe one day we will have some kind of system where we get the most out of our players.

  2. My girlfriend and I went to see V for Vendetta last night and it was an excellent movie. Both of us were thoroughly entertained and stayed immersed in the movie from start to finish.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen it yet? And if so, what are your thoughts?

Personally, I think this movie is very plausible due to the way things are going in our world. I am not saying it is going to happen just like that, but many elements from "V" seem to be happening or in the process of happening.

I would also like to discuss more specific plot elements, but don't want to give anything away. If anyone else feels the same, please start a thread about the movie with a spoiler's subject line (or I can later if need be).

    PS -- overall, I give this movie a 10 of 10

  3. Wow!!! Pacers fans must really be upset. If they miss the playoffs, they have to look no further than our beloved Hawks! At least that is something we can hold our heads high about. (Weren't the Pacers our rivals when we were actually a decent team?....alas, it seems so long ago frown.gif)

  4. I can't remember for sure, but as I recall, Marvin seemed to play fairly consistent throughout.

The player of the game for Hawks, though, definately had to be Childress. He was everywhere and gave it everything he had. (Many of the other guys did, too. We just don't have enough good players to hang with anyone in a fast tempo game IMO).

  5. I agree with the thoughts on Noah. While he is a project (similar to Marvin), he seems to have the "Potential" to be a Brad Miller like Center on the NBA level. If he does pan out then we would be in much better shape.

    ??/Lue/Ivey

    JJ/Salim

    Marvin/Chill/Donta

    JS/??/Batista

    Noah/Zaza/??

  6. I am not saying that Al takes a lot of charges overall, just that he did take some charges from BIG dudes last night when we needed him to. Every once in a while he can pleasantly suprise with good defensive plays.

  7. I am not the biggest Al supporter by any means, but he did take some HUGE charges last night. There probably aren't that many other guys who would have stood there and taken some of those shots.

  8. I really like that Jackie Butler guy and Quintel Woods. Both would be great to get for the Hawks next year IMO.

I know this is off topic, but watching them play tonight made me think that Zaza would have his hands full in keeping his starting spot.

And I was disappointed in Marvin last night, too. He needs to gain about 30 lbs.

  9. I almost got physically ill last night watching Diaw play against the Spurs. He is NOT the same player he was with the Hawks. It is very frustrating. We will probably never know the exact reason why he is playing so much different now, but one thing is for sure, he would NEVER play that way for the Hawks.

Alright drZ, lets hear some more insults so I can feel better about him playing better somewhere else.

PS -- to clarify, I am MORE than happy we made the trade to get Joe (he is going to be a star); it just sucks that Diaw decided to play now that he has left the Hawks

  10. What amazes me about the situation is that Belkin wants to sell for hundreds of millions of dollars but wants to buy the team from the EIGHT other owners for MUCH, MUCH less. It's ridiculous. He needs to just go away. No one likes him or wants him to own the team.

And what else is amazing is that he continues to find judges that will rule in his favor. How is that even possible? Who all is on his payroll?

  11. I think that Marvin has become more aggresive as the season has went on. He drives more and he mixes it up more in the paint. Last night, I was impressed by the way he was taking rebounds. He didn't just grab the board, many times it was like he was saying, "This is mine!" and just took the ball from anyone else who was near.

He will be fine. Give it time.

  12. They seemed to be fairly intelligent. Most of the guys on their board seemed to think that Gordon is going to be a VERY good player and do not think he is worth giving up for Al Harrington. Others just said that they could sign Al in the offseason without giving up anything. But overall, most fans explained why they felt Gordon was a better option. And thinking back, I don't think a single fan was willing to do the trade.

The trade that I had proposed was:

    Al/Salim/Delk for Gordon/Piatkowski/Sweetney

  13. I proposed this trade before the deadline (minus the first rounder that Chicago would be giving up) and checked the Chicago boards to find out their opinion. My trade was shot down quickly and I was almost laughed off the board. So, unless something changes in the final months of the season, I do not think that Chicago is going to trade Gordon. Many Chicago fans have started to view him as their best player.

With that said, I really like this trade and think it would be great for the Hawks. Maybe something will change Chicago's mind and get them to do this trade (even if we don't get the first rounder). Ben Gordon would be a great compliment to JJ in my opinion.
