It was reported somewhere..
The Hawks wanted Josh Green included, so the Mavs said no thanks...
I remember this being reported also.

Yeah......I'm probably gonna check out. I don't believe all the rumors, but something about all this doesn't sit right with me. I've spent way too much time on the Squawk these last couple of days anyway.
@Sothron, if I'm not lurking here... I'll hit you up on FB for updates you're allowed to share.Don’t leave Wretch!
there are still corn dogs here for you.

Look at me. Look at me... I'm the captain now.
I sure hope Kyle had good taste in movies as a kid and did not get sucked into the “new legacy” garbage.

Keys if we are going to be successful building around Trae.
1. Need shooters at every position. The Center doesn't have to be a great shooter, just needs the ability to hit a midrange jumper to keep the defense honest. This will unlock Trae drives again.
2. Length and defense at every other position.
I think JJ and Hunter both fit here. We need to square up the 5 (I like OO but he will struggle against bigger 5's like Zubac/Lopez/Valencunis) so we will need a BIG 5 off the bench. And we need an SG who can play D and hit the 3.
I'd be willing to trade DJM in a package centered around Herb Jones but I just don't think NOP would be willing to do that.
Dyson Daniels can't shoot at all so I don't want him playing beside Trae. To me he doesn't even have potential as a shooter, he's a career 64% FT shooter. That will not work. He's Andre Roberson 2.0 IMO
You hit the nail on the head. Still need this for Trae. Even his dad knows and is sharing it.
Get us this lineup Landry!

I mean, I hope the dude makes a full recovery and all that. I'm sympathetic and empathetic and everything. But geez man, every year it's something when they lose.
He is a walking injury and/or excuse machine. Either way, nobody is winning with him as the focal point. I have never seen anyone that big play so soft, so often. Not sure if it is him trying to stay injury free, he is out of shape, or he has no dawg in him. Or all of the above.

So stupid. So what does he do with the rest of his life? Just be a tall a** security guard or customer service guy?
Cap Bowdler is on line 4 to answer this question…right after you agree to his season ticket package offer.

The irony of AI getting a statue at the practice facility is so great!
and people think Trae cannot compete with AI (see how I put in a Hawks reference?!?)

A few thoughts:
1. Trae did this is only 21 minutes I believe
2. I am liking the Trae beard
3. He may just get himself a Just for Men sponsorship with Emmitt Smith if he plays his cards right after he got rid of that gray spot on his goatee

I see it as different. I think if it was going to be treated similarly you would make the minimum condition a minimum number of shot attempts. Minimum plate appearances = minimum number of attempts. # of 3's = # of hits.
So in baseball you need just over 500 plate appearances to qualify for the batting title. The NBA rule would be like having a requirement that you get 162 hits in a season instead.
I think that is fair. But I think the idea of a minimum in some fashion is similar between sports. Now the debate about which is better (number vs attempts), is a different and interesting discussion.

I just looked it up. The statistical minimum to qualify for 3pt% is 82 3pt shots made. Number of attempts is irrelevant. You can quality by going 82-82 or 82-250. Obviously, once you qualify the leaderboard is driven by % made.
This is similar in baseball with a minimum number of innings for pitchers and number of plate appearances for hitters in regards to different leaderboard qualifications.

Truer words have never been spoken. Glen reads the Squawk. Guaranteed.

It's a shame that people still, even after 2 back surgeries, talk about him like he's faking it all.
People are terrible.
I admit that I was skeptical at first. But I feel bad for the guy. It has to be mentally draining to not be able to do something anymore that you were elite at.

Do you (the royal collective “you” not just you NCR) think Bruno has proven himself enough to Quin to be a capable, reliable second string center?
Has he shown enough to the coaches/FO to give them the confidence to trade CC and roll with OO, Bruno, and a rookie 5? Or Trade CC & OO and get an upgrade to our starting 5?
I think so, at least at his contract price point. I just wonder if Quin will be willing to roll with it.
Bruno is a great 3rd center and possibly a decent backup. It is worth rolling the nice with him as the backup if we can trade CC (among others) for a front court upgrade.

You know that team lost, right?
But they were fun to watch! And who is going to beat Jordan anyway? Without MJ they would have been a dynasty.

Been under the weather the past few days. Flu-like symptoms. Smh
So is this the Flu, flu-like, or the Jordan “flu”?
Hope you feel better.

The main thing to take away from this game is that’s it easier to play better defense with one point guard on the court than two. This is why we have to trade Dejounte Murray. Also, we need more size on this team to make it easier for Trae. Good win.

really depends on how much Vaughn did for the democratic party. That's the criteria to get in the door for Pop and Carlisle to put on their fancy white knight clothes.
Don’t forget Kerr.

He does need to chill with the meddling. We are still paying for it too.
I will believe we are paying the LT only after it happens. And even when it does I will be waiting for him to trade someone else away to drop salary again.

Yeah Ive been saying this since 2018.. Trae improved but he can only do so much at his size..We need D all around him.. But then the offense would suffer... Shit aint easy man..
Trae with three 3 and D wings with SIZE and an Elite offensive center is how Ive always said we should be built..
Everyone has to be able to guard multiple positions..
Still what we need.

I guess "treatment options" sounds better than "meds." But really there should be no shame in taking psychiatric medication. It saves lives. I'm sure the team has a top notch psychiatrist and therapist working with him. If he misses more significant time next year for the same reason his career might be in jeopardy. There are only so many roster spots and teams will accommodate only so much. Hopefully he's aware of what's at stake and can recover from his personal struggles.
Mental health is no joke and cognitive behavioral therapy (among other therapy modalities) along with medication can be instrumental in helping people recover. In the COVID and post-COVID world mental health issues have skyrocketed. I hope he can get back on track and will accept help (if he hasn’t already).
This is a good discussion here from everyone. Well thought out and respectful. Kudos Hawksquawkers.

Consensus #3 pick
in NBA Draft Talk
Posted
I didn’t think Ant would be this good. He is a superstar. Lamelo is a very good player. Not a bad pick but not the best pick in highlight for me.
