Youre not off here.
The ECF run is viewed as 'easy'. I've seen some people say it should have an asterisk because, there were no fans in the stands ... yep, let that sink in. I guess a ghost spit on Trae and chanted obscenities at him. Smh
Folks, after the fact, claim NYK, PHI, and MIL were all easy opponents. Totally neglecting the fact that those were among the best defenses in the league that season. So whatever he/we did was nothing special.
It's why the terrible MIA series remains at the forefront of people's minds as they assess what Trae is as a player. Nevermind the 24 (iirc) games where he played well in the playoffs, combined with this past season. The 5 poor games vs MIA tell us he "can't play in the playoffs". That new math.
Stupid common core.

Trae will not get respect until he leads us to a title. He may not even get it then.

It's embarrassing honestly. Yeah I'm a homer or whatever but this isn't some click bait rag (or maybe it is), this is supposed to be the premier sports site in the country.
They have went way downhill ever since they got bought out by the NYT.

Add me to the list of people who just laugh at the idea of CC adding a functional jump shot. Frankly, if he does it this offseason it will make me wonder wtf he was doing all these years beforehand if that was all it took. Just never worked on it before even when it was the gaping hole in your game and was hurting your teammates? Nah. I don’t think CC is that kind of lazy. Just a skill he doesn’t have and almost certainly never will.
I agree. I don’t see a true jumper for Clint coming. Making his layups would be nice though. And of course his FT for GM.
by the way @Gray Mule how you feeling?

This was made abundantly clear to me after our series against them. If Embiid isn't an out-of-shape cry baby p*ssy afraid of clutch moments the Hawks get steamrolled. Ben got all the heat but a lot of it should have been directed at Embiid. Now this year after an even more pathetic showing in the playoffs on the heels of his "MVP" season, and Rivers getting the boot, Embiid is officially out of sacrificial scapegoats to hide behind if(when) he chokes again.
Nah. Out of shape Harden will be the scapegoat.

Trae/ end of discussion
Why would Trae be the reason we want KAT over Embiid? Because he would have to be traded to get Embiid?

I already know Hawksquawk fans would prefer KAT over Embiid for one massive reason.
I am curious, what do you think that might be?

The Hawks primary target is not on the market but the buzz is his agent is putting out feelers.
The Hawks are one of the primary teams that want him.
That player is no other than Joel Embiid. The rumor is the cost isn't out there but it will be extremely expensive. I am told maybe too expensive for most teams.
I don't believe you can land JoJo without your team being destroyed. Philly is planning on playing through it is what's being said behind the scenes but you know the pressure NBA players can put on NBA teams.
It's going to be unique. I am told, Atlanta is extremely interested. I am told other teams are interested. JoJo will have a lot of impact where he goes which is ultimately the big issue when it comes to trades and getting the value they want. I've said it before, this trade will be more expensive than the AD trade.
No thank you. For the salary and trade cost comparison, I would rather have KAT.

on the Atlanta Hawks official roster, Mo Gueye is listed as 6'11" and 210 lbs. He passes the eye test for this in summer league.
I have shingles now. I ask for your prayers.
Bless you GM. Shingles stink. I hope and pray you heal quickly and completely.

As long as he doesn't go down the Dwight Howard path..........(he also had a strong faith)
In hindsight, one might say Dwight’s family had a strong faith and he was a part of that atmosphere until getting out on his own.

Then we would have a separate "comment" thread for people to open discuss what you guys post in here. That way everyone can find the relevant information easily.
I would go even further and suggest the Insider thread should be in the Senior forum as well. It would give that forum more eyes but less overall eyes from lurkers with lower chance of leaks to other forums.

If DJM signed this extension how fast could an ETO or PO be put in place that he could exercise and then resign at a higher number?

from my sources. I don't really follow NBA media twitter. Sometimes I see something that Brad Rowland, Jason Walker or Glen Willis comment about but that's pretty much it.
That seems encouraging. Did they mention why he might want to sign? Just likes being here and $30mil/yr is enough money?
Also, I miss Jason Walker from back in the day here. I remember when the team kept him from going to anymore draft workouts because his reporting was so honest and thorough that agents got upset.

There's growing optimism that DJM might sign the 4 year 120 million dollar extension and NOT wait to be a FA at the end of next season. This would make it far easier to build the team knowing he is staying here and giving him long term peace of mind.
Is this coming from your sources or just media chatter?

Would be amazing!
1 hour ago, JayBirdHawk said:That would be unexpected and a hell of a coup by Landry.
I'm very skeptical though.
I am skeptical also. But DJM seems like the kind of guy who just might do it to know that he will be here because he is loyal and not a diva. Talk about Hawks DNA.

He would be the most (probably second most) loved Hawks player in a long time.

Surprise Landing Spots for NBA's Most Rumored Trade Targets
Paul George to Atlanta
Buzz about Paul George potentially being moved picked up a little steam recently, following an FnA Podcast appearance by veteran NBA reporter Howard Beck, in which he said the eight-time All-Star is "certainly available.""They're not trying to give him away, but they are trying to pivot, and they do have, I think, a franchise-wide frustration with the way that this era has gone," Beck added.
Lack of availability is a concern with George, and there's a good chance that impacts his trade value, but he could still be a difference-maker for a number of teams.I would offer Capela, Hunter, Gay and the SAC 2024 1st) for PG13 and Zubac
Hawks remain under the tax!
LAC also reduces their Luxury Tax bill further after the Gordon release.
Start OO, Zu the backup.Trae/Bufkin
DJ/Bogi
PG13/AJ
JJ/Bey
OO/Zu
Zubac. Be still Jaybird’s heart.

Yes, I was told Collins would be traded before the end of the season. All of us said Collins would be gone. We also said its likely at least two of three front court starters would be traded.
As of my typing this several teams are trying to get Capela and/or Hunter. There's a definite "Atlanta is cleaning house" vibe as confirmed by my Twolf source.
I guess my question was more related to if you heard anything about this specific trade or did it come together really quick?
-
Did any of our insiders get any indication that the Collins trade was going to happen?
