I don’t believe that was ever real.
You may be right but I will let @Sothron speak to that as he confirmed it last season.

Lauri isn't bad on defense. His height and size give him natural advantages. He's an elite scoring option. They'd have Chet next to him and have Jalen Williams as well to put next to him in the FC.
How about that JC for LM and two 1sts deal? We have made some epic screw ups in our FO.

Recently enjoyed All the Light We Cannot See on Netflix. My wife and I couldn’t stop watching. It was a limited series but very well done overall.

Gun to your heads guys, would you do:
Hunter, Bufkin, Patty Mills for Siakam (no draft capital)
And Siakam agrees to extend and trade.Yes.

The only guard he can reasonably replace would be Bogi or I suppose Patty as the backup PG. Trae and DJM are signed long term.
FWIW Bogi is the most sought after Hawk on the trade market.
Bogi has been really good this year. I am not sure if selling high on him is best though. His knee seems right finally and his D has improved. Plus the man can just plain shoot.

I don't want look at another man's money, just don't try to sell me that you are doing everything you can to put the best on court talent on the floor, just paying lip service.
I agree with this. If he is in it to make money, be honest. But that is not what is being presented to the fans. We are being strung along so he can make money off of us buying perch and tickets with the idea that they are doing everything possible to win. The truth is something else entirely.

I've said before it's not only about not paying the Tax. It's the money he would miss out on from the other teams that have to pay the tax.
The tax paying teams money is divided equally between the non-paying teams. So he would miss out on getting his share of the ~$370 million (last year) paid by the 8 teams last year thats divided between the remaining 22 teams. That's a cool $15 million he gets for staying under.
I get it. You pay less and get more back from others. The team owning philosophy is what really frustrates me. You have billions of dollars and run the team to make as much money as you can instead of trying to use every mechanism to win (which very well may earn more money in the long run). Even if you lost money how much is it really going to affect your bottom line when you have billions?

We need to leverage our TPE to get an impact player. It could be a deal where we take on a bad salary with the TPE and they send us an asset in a separate transaction.
The problem is the owner won’t pay for a winner. It is junk. Like Soth says, the dude is super rich but is worried more about the bottom line than winning. I wonder if Cuban would buy the Hawks after selling the Mavs?

Some of us wanted to trade for Sabonis right after the ECF run and got shamed for proposing it:
*************************************************************************
Everyone thought our team was perfect summer of 2021. Guess how many likes my post got suggesting we bring in guys like Lillard, Sabonis, and Towns vs the post suggesting JC is better than Sabonis? I got 1 like and JC>Sabonis got 6.There was one post in the thread saying we already have a Big 3: Trae, Cam, and Dre. It probably got a bunch of likes, too.
I hear you. We have made some poor decisions consistently as a franchise.
Our talent evaluation overall.

We better take 2 BIGS in the 1st rd this year.. Hopefully we'll hit on one...
I wish we would take big dudes instead of tweeners. This should be our team with Trae as the only small guy.

I'd comfortably pick Trae over Fox. They have a better team around him overall than the Hawks do, he's been a better scorer this year but nowhere near the playmaker. He's definitely bridged the gap this year quite a bit though.
Imagine Trae with Sabonis. We need a skilled big with Trae.

Never said I was a insider lol. I've been around awhile and hear tidbits on occasion.
This is why I don't post much. I'll refrain in the future.
I think many of us appreciate it when people put out what they hear. Don’t stop posting due to someone asking questions please. This provides fun banter even if we know many of these trades are not likely to happen (even when legit trade discussions).

Not a Freudian slip... A running Joke.
We made a midseason trade, while tanking, for a guy trying to win a big contract. My belief is regardless of if we had Sura or not, Dwight was going to Orlando.
Dwight was going to be the new Shaq. At least that was the plan.

Remember this summer when he went batshit crazy on X and predicted the rapture was coming? Well, what do people do when the end of the world is nigh? Whatever they want. I'll tell you what they don't do when end of the world is nigh? They don't work on their game, eat right or lift weights.
He probably showed up to camp looking like Jeff Bridges in The Big Lebowski or like fat Thor in Endgame.
Anyone know how long it takes to get into shape after a summer of rapture FOMO/YOLO?
Although not a 1:1, but I do believe James Harden would be the most appropriate person to ask this question.

I would welcome Delon back. He is off to a rough start but I think you can trust in his track record. He also fits in salary wise just fine.
What would a trade for Delon look like potentially? Would love Gallo back as well.

excited for this one. OKC has become my League Pass sidepiece, the team I root for when I'm not rooting for the Hawks. Huge fan of Chet.

22/12 and Trae is sharing the game ball. Gotta love it!
I would love to see Trae go Stockton level this season. I think that is his path to the HoF.
