    Understanding the fact that the teams that win championships are seasoned with experience. Rebuilding is not the answer, just look a philly, orlando etc..  The Hawks need to continue to enhance the roster and since no big name free agents want to come here, we need to build the team out thorough acquiring assets (Paul Milsap, etc.), and draft well. You do realize that we are close, and now that the Eastern Conference is wide open - I would expect Ferry to make a splash this summer. You heard it here first - Patience people-

    I like when crazy is on my team. Lance is a bit immature but he is still very young and talented and an unselfish player. He is exactly the size and type of athlete we need. Get Lance!

     

    You may like when crazy is on your team, but not when he is a locker room cancer. Hawks fans should know better remember JR Rider - we have to build the team the right way. Ferry has built a solid team that plays hard, we need  a star on the court and in the locker room. Lance is not the answer at any price.

    For Greg Monroe!!!

     

    Are you one of these guys that get so caught up on a player because we picked him?  Payne is great... don't get me wrong, but he's a duplication of Sap.  We knew that from the start.  Don't build up this allegience with him because we picked him, if he can be used to get us a better player, then use him.  He's from MSU, there's a possibility that we drafted him with a trade to Detroit in mind...  Ferry's risky calculation.  Just like trading Bebe.

     

    I like Greg Monroe but he is expecting a big contract. And as a Michigan Fan, i wasnt happy with Payne's selection, but he will make an immediate impact for a less amount. This is a business, and the Hawks need perimeter scoring at the wing and guard position. Getting Greg Monroe will not exceed what Payne and Milsap will bring together at a lower price. This is not playstation but a business and the Hawks are in the business of building a team the right way...

    Let me just ask you this: even if we get Deng, do you seriously think that Hawks team has a legit chance of winning a title? Be honest.

     

    Winning a title No, but let's say the Hawks get Deng and say Dion Waiters via a trade from Cleveland then yes we would have a shot to make it to the ECF under coach Bud.  Sure it's not a sexy team, but try defending this team.

     

    PG- Teague / Schröder 

    SG- Waiters / Korver 

    SF-  Deng / Sefolosha

    PF-  Milshap / Payne

    C-    Horford / Antić / Muscala

    So you are happy with another pointless playoff team with no hopes of ever getting out of the first or second round. And, I might add, one that would be locked into WLOC for several years with no cap flexibility or the ability to tank to get a high draft pick.

     

    It is like the Joe Johnson era 2.0. Yay?

     

    Except we have cap flexibility....Ferry knows what he is doing, it's not like we have big name free agents knocking down the Hawks front door. Mainstream media doesnt even respect the Hawks..IF we can play as a TEAM and with the East being weak - who knows what can happen.

     

    btw are you really comparing 4mill a year for Sefalosha to JJ 20mill per year.....come on man...

    Didn't you know that Thabo is the superstar player we've been missing and he will win us multiple titles? YOU ARE SO NOT A REAL FAN.

     

    Here we go again...we spent 4million dollars...not 8 million for this guy. This is chess not checkers, it's pretty obvious that this move is to get Deng on board for less than what the market dictates. Deng could easily command 12 to 13mill in Dallas or LA.

     

    We already struck out  last year trying to pitch big name free agents Dwight Howard, Chris Paul etc., so we have to build a competitive team that can compete. Ferry is doing things the right way, and who knows maybe we can surprise people with a 3rd seed in the east..

    We would def have one of the top starting fives in the east but it's hard to say who's better than us or who we are better than until we see what are bench looks like.

    However If we add deng and hill to come off the bench we will probably have a top 4 east team. Pacers are on their way down so I should say top 3.

     

    If our team can manage to stay healthy a full season then I would look for us to compete for the 3rd spot in East provided that we are able to sign Luol Deng. I would imagine that coach BUD philosophy is to moderate Horford, Milsaps, korver, minutes by adding more depth to the team. Hence, Payne, Patterson, Selfolosa additions. We still need another SG that can actually dribble and shoot.

    Hawks were 3 mins from eliminating the #1 seed last year with that lineup, MINUS Horf, with Antić and DMC starting. So adding Horf back into the fold and Deng to that starting lineup where DMC could come off the bench would be a step back? I think not. That's a definite 2nd rounder and possible ECFs team. One big piece away (2015 FAcy?) from the Finals.

     

    I agree - it's a solid team, that should be able to make it to the 2nd round. Don't sleep on our second round pick Lamar Patterson. He is actually pretty good, just not flashy a typical Spurs type player.

    It'll be a Millsap type signing.  I think DF looks to improve the starting core next.  Probably another 2/3 guard that no one is thinking about.  Just think of a high-character shooter with a great work ethic that can start at 2/3 guard.

     

    If we were able to get Klay Thompson via trade - I would be ecstatic!!

  22. Why Not Eric Bledsoe?

    It would make too much sense to sign a guy like Bledsoe when DF is using our cap for Thabo Sefolosha level players. Up next: resigning Jason Collins for our backup center position and Keith Askins for another wing position.

     

     

    Some Hawks fans are hysterical...we sign a SF for 4mill a year and we are blowing up at Ferry. 

     

    Ferry has done the following:

    1) Dump Joe Johnson huge contract

    2) Hired a really good coach

    3) Signed reasonable contracts

     

    And yet we are still complaining...Let's just wait until the end of the Free Agency period before we start saying the sky is falling....THe only thing we haven't done is bring in a real star...

     

    Btw- If we were playing Playstation then we sign Eric Bledsoe but we play in the NBA so lets focus on a player that fills a need..A True SG that can shoot.
