Wizards by all accounts are going to match the Kings max offer sheet for Porter. With our new cap space, we will probably make a run at Bogdanovic. There is no way the Wizards will keep him and Porter. Even if we miss on Bogdanovic, I don't see us with that as our starting lineup.

We will sign at least one player who can start on our front line in place of Collins or Plumlee. But barring a miracle, we will still be getting a top ten pick in the lottery.

    Baze isn't going to start...

    PG- Dennis

    SG- THJ

    SF- Prince

    PF - Collins /

C-  Plumlee ---> This is comical...but oh well

    Timberwolves lineup with Millsap

    PG - Rubio

    G - Butler

    F - Wiggins

    PF - Millsap

    C - Towns

    6th man - Shabazz

Interesting.  That lineup would make them tremendously better on defense, and could challenge for the 4 - 6 spot in the West.  That's a 50 win team easily . . . on paper

More like the 3rd spot....That Team would be only be behind Warriors and the Spurs...

I hope he signs somewhere else. I was never sold on him and while he did FINALLY improve last season it isn't enough for me to want to invest that kind of money.

Are you serious? THJ, worked hard over the last 16months to buy into Bud's system and now he is 25years old and the 3rd leading scorer on the Hawks. And your answer is to trade him b/c you are not sold on him? Wake UP HAWKS FANS!!!

His career progression Arc (to date) is actually similar to Jimmy Butler from a numbers progression. Now Hardaway needs to continue to work on his defense, but him and Dennis in the backcourt could be very potent provided they continue to improve. The problem is we overpaid for Bazemore's energy but his skillset is no where near Hardaway's and Baze is two years older.

How will we ever be successful if we don't continue to grow and refine the talent we have in place.

Assuming Millsap will be moving on, Collins is projected to be our PF going forward.  No need for Griffin.

We can play with two PFs...This is the new NBA and yes Millsap will be gone..

The Shooting Guard position is the one we need to watch the most....THJ needs to be able to beat Korver for the starting job at that position, and allow for Korver to provide a spark off the bench. THJ is more athletic and could really come into his own this season.

Really interested in seeing Bud's rotational pattern.

Do you wanna know a secret? Only TWO teams among 30 make the finals.

Are all other teams supposed to destroy their entire roster every single year?

We have good assets, stop being scared of competition.

Ha...Scared of competition?  How about scared of mediocrity...It will take another sweep in the playoffs to realize this...I will circle back with you this time next year... In a star driven league, we need to change the perception...Our old Friend Billy Knight realize this, although stupidly missing out on Chris Paul and others, paid Joe Johnson that mega contract in a poor attempt to change perception of Atlanta.....I mean KD didnt even want to listen to us.....

Ferry & Bud were excellent at bringing that SPurs Culture to ATL...Please keep in mind that the Spurs did have a Superstar on that roster...And I love our your two SFs, THJ, even Howard....but we need a SuperStar.....Maybe Denis can be that...ok, let's wait another year and hope...

We'd regress even further when Westbrook walks and we've given away future picks.

A future PICK not picks....and that pick can be the Minnesota's pick when we drafted Adriene Payne....remember how good that pick was?

So if he leaves we lose Milsap, Dennis, and our first as well ... In other words our future ....

And what future is that exactly?  The same one that has us losing in the 2nd round every year?

Keeping Milsap is the safe play.

".. you can't lose what you don't put in the middle. But you can't win much either. ". Mike McDermott (Rounders)

So instead of OKC being in the same spot like they were with Durant, it'll just be us with Westbrook, plus we've given away young players and picks.

You wouldn't take that risk to have arguably a top 5 player on our team? Even if it's for one full season...

When is the last time the Hawks had a superstar? Here is a plan, let's wait and hope we get lucky in the draft.....I see why we never win anything in any sport

No.  We shouldn't trade Millsap.   I think the combination of him and D12 will be a potent one.  Moreover, instead of quitting right now, we should take advantage of this window to see if we can make a run.

I say strengthen what we have instead of tearing it down and hoping for the future.  If we were getting Westbrook to play with D12 and Sap, i would say..Do that.  However, in absence of that, hold on to Sap and see what we can do at full capacity.

If Bud thinks we can make an ECF run as constructed then I'm with you. I actually do like our team, but hate to see us regress next year when SAP walks

    The shorter answer: NO

it's a simple math equation....I agree Westbrook is a pipe dream, but if the Hawks don't trade Milsap, then we will be in the exact same spot has OKC management with Durant this summer.

the only problem is we won't get much value for SAP in Feb.

Westbrook is not signing long term in Atlanta.

Yes but we fiscally can't sign Milsap....why not take a risk on Westbrook, if he leaves then he leaves,...plus I think that team could really challenge for the East this season!

  13. The short answer: YES

With the salary Cap ballooning to 109mill next year for teams and given how well Milsap has been playing he would command a contract of 4yr/100million range at the very least. Now that would be ok if he was 26, but not at 32....Not sure how much Howard would cry about a retooling effort, but we have to move Milsap this offseason, b/c his value diminishes as  the season starts and Milsap would be a fool to not take the big payday elsewhere. Plus he knows the Hawks tried to move him last week, before good ole Al put an end to that.

your move Bud...we need a good player in return.

could the Hawks go all in....and risk losing it all by going after a superstar? Sure the same challenge as Milsap contract is stil there, but damn rolling the dice could be worth it!

ATL trades: Milsap , Dennis and a future 1st

    for

OKC trades: Russell Westbrook, Mitch McGary

NBA is full of disloyal chumps.. Smh @ the bullshit this league is becoming when stuff like this happens. I do not know if I can continue to watch this with all this teaming up of p*ssy players

Disloyal? This is a business, and let's be honest Oklahoma City or San Francisco/Oakland is a no brainer.  The days of players staying with one team their entire is over; just like its rare for employees to stay with one company their entire life.

Life presents options, some you take some you don't...but damn going to the team that just beat really stings for the Fans of OKC. damn
