He'll no longer be a Hawk if he wants $18.6...
I certainly hope you're right. If he was 25 years old then maybe, but no way we pay that much for Milsap....if he wants that much then do a sign and trade with Utah for Favors; we will lose some offensive creativity but atleast we will be able to rebound.

Ben Mac ...Nik Staus
But why get rid of an up and coming star in Dennis?
Getting Tim Hardaway really negates the option of getting Ben Mac or Nik Stauskas...and Kings have no other assets besides Cousins.
-
Tiago Splitter on the block?
According to multiple league sources, the Spurs have made center Tiago Splitter available for trade, in hopes of shedding from the books the $8.5 million he is due next season.
Trade, Tiago Splitter, San Antonio Spurs
I do like this option, but I don't want to give up anyone to get him...maybe Mack but this not enough to pull it off. We need a rebounder as all signs point to the Hawks resigning Milsap and Carroll

Learning offenses can be hard, so just start chucking
Did you see who is on the knicks roster....when he gets here if he expects to play, he will play by team rules and have fun doing it.
-
Duh.......thats ANOTHER reason why i keep saying he may be better suited as a 3. He is a tweener, like Joe Johnson. What gets me is the fact that the Hawks PURPOSELY went out and got players that can play multiple positions, but yet, when its mentioned as a permanent position for players, its like its something new and cannot be done.
“He’s a small forward,” Teague said, “in a power forward’s body.”
Again....you are making my point. Him being a SF in a PF body gives him an advantage at PF...That DOES not mean that PF body at the SF position would be just as successful. Come on Hawks fans, there are no short cuts; I could argue that Carroll is very important b/c he is more atheletic than Milsap the SF position..
No offense but Coach Bud is Coach of the Year and if he thougt that Milsap would be better at SF then he would of moved him there, and started another Big at the PF spot to help rebound.

I've tried to make this case before, but it didn't go over well with most of our senior Squawk members. I argued that Sap is a good enough 3pt shooter and has great finishing ability around the hoop to be good at the SF position. Problem is that there are two sides to a basketball game and Sap's numbers come because he is able to play less athletic players at the 4. I like the idea of the big lineup and I believe Sap has just enough athleticism to hang with 80% of the league's SFs, but Bud tried putting Sap on LeBron in the ECF and LeBron looked him like "You have got to be joking". We dealt with Horford playing out of position all of these years... The numbers says that Sap was our best defensive player last season.
It's easy to say that we could play the match-up game against the LeBron, Melo, and Durant's in the league, but this isn't the Woody or Drew era Hawks where we have our normal lineup and big lineup when we play Dwight. We don't do that and if Sap is our primary SF, then we might as well chalk up all of the games vs. New York, Cleveland, and OKC as 40-point games for their superstars. Also, it's likely that we meet LeBron again in next year's ECF, so... IDK. I'd rather pay DMC Sap's money to be our SF, but if Detroit steals Demarre, then I guess it's at least a possibility.
Agreed...Milsap loses his advantage playing at the SF position...PF is the position he needs to play, but he is not the best rebounder...Coach Bud has an interesting decision to make in Free Agency.

Sounds like he was working on defensive improvement by doing things to improve lateral quickness. I think strength probably helps on the defensive side too. Hopefully he can get with the Hawks and get some direction on this. Seeing his pop regularly can't hurt either.
Coach Bud will bring out the best in this kid...NYC was chaotic, people forget Hardaway was on the All Rookie Team in 2014.

I think we got a hell of a deal with that trade and Coach Bud helps this kid improve then we may have a really good shooting guard...

It's not secret I'm from Atlanta but I'm a Wolverine....Here is what Hardaway is doing this offseason. This kid wants to be great, will be great shape by the camp and will compete for a starting SG spot.

Our starting SG is also 34 years old and coming off ankle surgery. It should not surprise us if Korver's mpg go down from 32 mpg to the 25 - 28 mpg.
Agreed...July 1st will tell us a ton....If we can get Aldridge then it proves the Hawks are all in for a Title next season.

No depth in the playoffs. How do you build depth? The draft.
What do we do? Go out for drinks and tell the parking attendant to do whatever he wanted.
False...we need to get out of the losing mentality...We need to reload with players than can contribute right away....drafts some international players and let them develope overseas; the real key is free agency.
Please Hawks fans...don't be the 76ers...they have good draft picks in the last 3 years and they still suck....

Are you going to tell me that Tim Hardaway Jr has been a good player in his career?
2year career

Just to remind folks: We already have Korver/Thabo/Bazemore at SG. Teague/Dennis/Mack at PG. Unless we are trading one of the names I just listed this makes zero sense.
Mack will be gone.....Korver is 34 and currently in a walking boot, Thabo missed the playoffs all together. So what you're saying is we dont need a young SG that can score and be groomed by the coach of the year.....
Wake up Hawks FAN!

The catch twenty two is suppose Aldridge waits to sign and DMC plus Sap are pursed by other teams eventually all sign with other teams. Is it worth the risk losing out on all of the players or take a chance you can get Aldridge to sign with the Hawks?
Hawks will sign DMC.
Aldridge would put us in serious contention for a Title

Who is our new Gm? He already sucks arse.
Have we not learned anything from this season....IN BUD WE TRUST
STOP LOSING FAITH HAWKS FANS.....and Act like we been to the ECF, draft is not going to get us over the top...Free Agency will.

Thats the same dumb crap people were saying when the Falcons went 13-3 in 2012 and did nothing to get better even though their flaws were seriously exposed. Going into next season with pretty much the same main guys is suicide. This year was a fluke until proven other wise. If we go into next season and our PG is once again the only guy on the floor that can make plays consistently off the dribble then we're nothing more than regular season superstars again
Now I'm not in the Hawks front office, but it sure seems like we are getting guys to stretch the floor......maybe Milsap is gone and a BIg man like Aldridge or Gasol who said the Like ATL is on the way.
-
Are u nuts?! Tim Jr is a legit 6'6 can drive and shoot and is only 24 years old..He is ready to start for Korver right now! Good job coach Bud!
Thank You...and he is only 23yr...can contribute right away and is cheap contract wise...sounds like we are about to make a play for one of the Big Men on July 1st

Tim Hardaway Jr is a lousy player. Wow.
A 23yr old SG- 6-6, who averages 11.5pts a game, shoots 40%FG, 35% from 3pt.....with no real coaching. We have the COACH OF THE YEAR...just look at Teague, Milsap, Korver, Dennis, Carroll progress with Coach bud...
You guys are hysterical...if you dont think bud can help this guy improve...GO HAWKS

I like it. Bud will get the best out of him
This is a great trade for the Hawks

Interesting....Last year we got Payne who never saw the floor and we traded...No one complained when we were in the Eastern Conference Finals...
People please...only Lottery teams worry about the draft; Hawks need rebouder and someone else who can create their own shot....Outside of the Top 6 players none of those other guys would see much time in ATL...Please relax.
-
Trading within your division is stupid. Trading with a team in your division who you just battled for six games is beyond stupid.
Welcome to the Bud era of player movement.
It's CHESS Not CHECKERS man...we are contending for the Eastern Conference and hopefully NBA Finals, having a raw rookie that would not even see the floor does not help us...
Hardaway can learn Bud's system while Korver is recovering and even learn the game from Korver; I would much rather have Hardaway than a Monta Ellis player who is set in his ways.. This may actually pave the way for Milsap to be traded, we are now further strechting the floor....Imagine having ALdridge or Gasol....Stay TUned Hawks Fans

GO BLUE!!!...We need a shooter and Hardaway was in a bad situation in NYC with Carmelo...I also like Grant, but we dont need another PG.

This is not playstation. We're talking about probably the BEST C in the league @ 24. If Sactown trades him they are stupid. IF we refuse to trade for him because of our loyalty to Horf... we are stupid.
Cousins plays when he wants to plays...there is a reason why 4 out of 5 of his coaches have been fired since he has been in the league. He is super talented but so was JR Rider, Josh SMith, and the list goes on and on.....IF we learn anything from this season is it's not about stats or fantasy basketball trades...ITS ABOUT THE TEAM and I want no part of Cousins on our team.

I will believe it when it happens.
Exactly...

I'm happy with our Guard positions...the real question is what are we going to do about our rebounding issues.
