  1. Listen. Stevie Ray never wrote a decent song. He just jammed. That's why you never hear any of them. Really, you are below this conversation. You see, Blues and rock can mesh with funk and punk and disco. you obviously know nothing about music. Be it classical or oldies. Beethoven had waaay more soul than Mozart. If you dont get it, you don't get it. By the way, B.B.King is a big Jimi fan and in fact put two jimi albums in his personal collection at the hall of fame. And Santana is on record as saying that Jimi was the greatest. So are about all of the great english/blues guitar players. Clapton, Townsend, etc. And you don't care for Dylan? You are an absolute novice with no ear for music. You're one of those people that watches the Grammys aren't you? If you can prove that Jimi beat women then do so. As for the army, Jimi was an airborne ranger. Were you? Honorable discharge. Broken Foot. Also, unlike many of his contemporaries he never protested the war in Vietnam. So, find some more ammo. Castles made of Sand @ss!ole. Stevie Ray is the Vanilla Ice of his style.
  2. I've got news for you Reality. If not playing D, having a gross misunderstanding of your own game, and never seeming to do anything but wait on the wing for the ball is your idea of a role model then? The man stole millions while here. What a joke? Have any of you ever played on a winning team? You learn not to be like that. But really, it is Woodson's fault for letting him do that to his team. The guy is a chump and I think the Legend's lost his mind. Or maybe he knows that Al will fall in line with them.He was asked to be a leader here. He has no idea how to control a game. For the good of his team.
  3. Yeah. It hurts. But Al is gone and brighter days are ahead. Besides, Joe is always gonna be a major ball handler. It's in his nature.
  4. No way CBA. You know it goes like this. 1. Smoltz 2. T-scrub 3. Hampton 4. Ramirez 5. James Then you still have Davies and Big John I think. My dream is to trade priviledged boy LaRoche for the very pitching help we need. He will never be this tradeable again. He's already returning to earth.
  5. I thought this post was about Bonzi Wells sucking? He does. If anyone doesn't know.
  6. I don't "remember" the St. Louis Hawks as I wasn't born until 1974. I was born at Dekalb. Lived in the St.Mtn. area most of my life. I would love to hear about them though. Anytime. I'm new to the site and it seems most of the people don't get it. You're right. It should be about the championship.
  7. Quote: Nirvana was the founding father of grunge. On the flip side, one musician who's music and death I view as underrated is Layne Staley of Alice in Chains. Rock and roll with a twist of grunge, or vice versa depending on opinion, Staley with his unique voice and lyrics made Alice in Chains a band for the ages Really, Buckeye to be historically accurate Neil Young is considered to be the "Godfather of Grunge". There just wasn't as much media then and there wasn't a stupid label thrown on super loud gnarly sonic rock with melody. In the land of feedback it's easy for a person with no frame of reference to get lost and think it's just noise. It's not. If you like Layne Staley try to find "Mad Season" with Mike McCready from Pearl Jam. Not to be confused with that Matchbox 20 crap album of the same name.
  8. What a joke. Trade rider. Who would take him. Do you know anything about rhythm. Because reef had none of it. And he is the losingest player in NBA history. And you really haven't addresed any of my points about their games. By the way Toni is about the only white guy I've liked on the Hawks. I'm a world class hater. stay in your league.
  9. Do you remember the scenes in "White men can't jump? Well the Wesley Snipes thing is really funny. Cause' I have a lot of black friends and about .0005% of them can even name a Hendrix tune. You obviously don't "get" it. the "redneck chile" as I like to call him was about as crappy a guitar player as I can think of. All he did was bite on Jimi's style with none of the real blues. There are a few black rock artists. Ben Harper comes to mind. If you've never heard him give it a listen. Hip-Hop doesn't have a lock down on poetry. and that's what you are missing the most. I don't think you could quote any lyrics from any rock bands. Not to mention what they are singing about. The whole point is to create art. The whole package. You probably think Bob Dylan can't sing. Or Tom petty. Or Neil Young. oh, wait I forgot. You don't know that he's put out about 50 albums. Let's just say some of us whiteys know the difference between lil'Wayne and Del. You do know who Del is right? I've read some of your posts. And you might know Hawks but you are waaay off here. And that crap about boring, depressed rockers is all media hype. Listen to the production value of Jimi's last stuff like "easy rider" and others. Way ahead of it's time. He was also an accomplished drummer and bass player. Check out Electric Ladyland. listen to 1983 or something. And i'm not sure i read it. Do you play guitar? And if so, do you play ball? It's all about team. In music or basketball.
  10. Straight Homer. Watched a lot of Dolphins games growing up though. That always seemed to be the other game here. Dan Marino was my favorite player as a kid. Went to his last game here and watched the Falcons roll in that magic season of 98'. He had one of his few rushing touchdowns ever. I live and breathe ATL. Except the Thrashers.
  11. You should stick to not knowing about the Hawks. Warrant? Have you ever played a guitar? Has anyone on these posts? And if you have, do you also play ball? And what's killing music is record companies like UMG paying off radio station execs to play crap like Ashlee Simpson. But to people that can hear it there are plenty of bands to listen to. I am going to list some guitarists. If you can name the band then you can talk. If you can't? Mike McCready, John Frusciante, Billy Corgan, Thurston Moore, Jerry Cantrell, Graham Coxton, and i'm not even gonna get into how most of you don't get Neil Young? Does anyone know who that is?
  12. Again. Why all the hating on white guys and Hendu. If you know anything about the game then you know the guys I mentioned are all cancers to the team they are on. I have not seen any Reef, Al, or Nazr hate. That is ridiculous. Keep your eye on the prize people! And how could anyone hate on guys from the past while turning a blind eye to the guys that actually started losing. I mean Mark Wohlers still makes me feel empty but he's no Ken Ray. I hope someone gets that.
  13. Am I the only one who watched chumps like Reef, Rider, Nazr, Al, etc. destroy the team? I hate what happened upstairs, but I'm a Braves fan I've got bigger gripes! Ultimately they were on the court. There was no OC or DC in the booth calling plays. Those guys sucked. But I truly believe we are turning the corner. I hope.
  14. Indeed. As our old friend the Stinger used to say. We shop at the same grocery store as an aside. But alas, my point. Anyone that thinks the guys on my list were not monumental crap has scouting issues. Why is the hating primarily on Hawks that played on winning teams? I don't want to watch either, but I do. We need to realize why this sucking started. I am excited about this season. If they can overcome Woodson then I don't think 40 wins is out of the question. But only because the cancers are gone.
  15. 1. Manning - Nique' gave us his all. He gave nothing. 2. Rider - Most selfish player I have ever seen. Effectively ended the Hawks as a team. We still haven't gotten his stink off. 3. Reef - What a joke. This guy is like the losingest player in the history of the league. The Grizz had to move because of him! His numbers were garbage. He built upon what J.R. started. 4. Nazr - Huuuge contract. All of a sudden he thinks he's got "game". No D. No boards. Took broke j's. And now he's mister role player. 5.Al - This guy played nooo D. Took the most shots. Killed runs. Did none of the little things. Never challenged on D for fear of fouling out and not getting almost 20. I'm quite positive he was the Hawks' least favorite player last year. 6. There are many others. I know all you Hendu haters have gripes but he is another story. I HATE all these guys.
