  1. I'm trying to climb out of this nightmare, and into a dream.
  2. I know. I hate thinking about it. I don't think Silas could work for BK. I just think he would bring the toughness and old school mentality that we need. I know you have issues with BK. I think these players could win though. His choice of a coach is my major issue with him. Who do you think would work for BK? Also, can the ASG fire BK?
  3. I remember Lorendu sucking hard in his last stint here. Those baseline j's were what I hated the most. He was really, the beginning of us being soft in the middle. As well as the mind. I actually thought he played pretty good early this year. He has been real soft of late. The other guy is Craig, by the way. Worst free agent signing in Atlanta Hawks history.
  4. He played for the Hawks, and has a proven record of winning in the NBA. Certainly more than what we've had recently. Here's a look at his record. Please exclude the Clippers term. Paul Silas Overall: 321 - 370 Playoffs: 13 - 16 Year Team Season Playoffs 1980 SDC 36 - 46 0 - 0 1981 SDC 17 - 65 0 - 0 1982 SDC 25 - 57 0 - 0 1998 CHA 22 - 13 0 - 0 1999 CHA 49 - 33 1 - 3 2000 CHA 46 - 36 6 - 4 2001 CHA 44 - 38 4 - 5 2002 NOH 47 - 35 2 - 4 2003 CLE 35 - 47 0 - 0 2004 CLE 34 - 30 0 - 0
  5. I agree, but you're clouding the issue. The issue is Woody. Who knows what the games would look like with a real coach?
  6. When an organization has an idea of who they are, and a little respect for themselves.
  7. Quote: Even after Joe returns I think the PG situation is quite volatile at this juncture and will ultimately be the this team's downfall. So, you agree with me now? Last night was the last straw? What horrible play by Craig was it?
  8. I was gonna piggy back on yours. You've got the best name. I'll probably do something similar. I'm a cp novice, really. I've got a name in mind though.
  9. I think I'm going to start a more active site. Hope you don't mind. I need to express my Woodson hate in a different, more complete way.
  10. Quote: I don't want to hear any more about Craig. Brick from inside the free throw line. Worst skip pass I've ever seen! Is everyone blind? Add a carry to that.
  11. By the way, what's up with the site? You need to keep it going. Nothing is changing.
  12. it ain't comin'. He's a 3 foot tall chucker.
  13. Do you have any vision? ok teke. Point out the positives and we'll all talk about those.
  14. I don't want to hear any more about Craig. Brick from inside the free throw line. Worst skip pass I've ever seen! Is everyone blind?
  15. Quote: any news on JJ or Speedy for this game? that little guy Nate "?" is likely to go off tonight. i hope Woodson has an answer for defending the opposing guards tonight. Did you just say that? C'mon man. He has no answers. His name is Craig, by the way.
  16. Quote: When your argument gets punk'd, argue something else. I see you have been taking lessons from one of the other posters. I bet if Iverson had played with a guy who won a scoring title you guys would still make excuses for him. Oh wait.... I think I answered your dumb questions yesterday and you never responded. You just kept on arguing with people you thought you could win against. You asked two questions. Both dumb. I answered both. Nothing. "crickets" as you like to say, I think. I think we agree a lot. Your evaluation of Webber's game and character are frightening, though. The guy sucks. Not a team player at all. No need to argue. Nothing you could say would change the reality that is Webber. If you really play, how could you respect a player like him?
  17. Quote: How is a budget issue Shurholtz's fault??? He signed players while Turner had control of the team. Then T-W cut the payroll by 40 million! There are still legacy contracts that John has to deal with. If T-W had given him several years to get payroll down, then I think he could have made this work better, but as is, the budget came down and he had to do what he had to do: see the trade of Milwood as a prime example. As far as Giles is concerned, he really isn't that great of a player. He's a solid .275 hitter that plays solid but not spectacular defense. He's injury prone and couldn't handle lead-off. Giles was a likable player, but nothing special. One of the young guys will fill in just fine. No team was going to trade for Giles because they knew that T-W has tied John's hands financially. Stop you are really something to dis on one of the best GMs in baseball. This is an assesment not just by me, but by his peers who know what they are talking about. I have loved J.S. for a long time. The simple fact though, is that he has not gotten it done. Not getting Tommy back was the last straw. It would have done many things. It would have excited the fan base. It would have weakened our main rival. 300 wins. As a Brave! I don't want to hear about payroll. We still have a very high budget. Giving Bobby those scrub relievers and Langerhans last year were terrible assumptions. Then, after no production, he stands pat. We traded for 3 guys. 1 of which worked. Too bad he waited a month too long. Renteria has no range in the hole, or going to second. Along with the poor pitching, that killed. We missed Furcal bad. Not to mention T-Hud and his one pitch. Listen, I am a Braves lifer, I am just fed up with his refusal to look past his own ego. Look at these great players he has aquired in the last 7 years. Quote: Schuerholz is dead to me. He's been a day late and a dollar short for the better part of a decade. Just to name a few. Albie Lopez, Quilvio Veras,John Thompson, Kenny Lofton, Reggie Sanders, Russ Ortiz, Ken Caminiti, Paul Bako, Juan Cruz, Kyle Farnsworth, Todd Holandsworth, Jose Hernandez, Brian Jordan(2nd time), Darren Bragg, Rico Brogna, Ken Ray, Edgar Renteria(anyone else think we missed Furcal's range and arm?) Dan Kolb, Walt Weiss, Tim Hudson, Shane Reynolds, Chris Rietsma, Raul Mondesi, Pete Orr(the guy makes Lockhart look like George Brett), Kurt Abbot, Andy Ashby, Rey Sanchez, B.j.Surhoff, Robert Fick, Steve Karsay, Todd Pratt, Jaret Wright, Matt Diaz, Willy Aybar, Ryan Langerhans, Danys Baez, Tyler Yates, Chad Poronto, Blaine Boyer, and Wilson Betemit sucked for like 10 years, when he finally delivers, we trade him for nothing the day Chipper gets hurt. I know there are others, but these are a few. Here are some guys he let leave-Jermaine Dye, Dave Justice, Jason Schmidt, Rafael Furcal, Kevin Millwood, Leo Mazzonne, Pat Corralles, Javy Lopez, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine, and next year you can bet he'll trade Andruw. I guarantee it was a matter of a few million dollars. We needed that money for Joey Devine and Tyler Yates. Quality pitchers like that. The guy has lost it. Or, maybe we all gave him waaaaaaay too big a pass these last 7 or 8 years. What other GM could stay with all of those moves blowing up in his face? P.S. Roger McDowell is the worst pitching coach I have ever seen, but he stays? He made about 5 mound visits last year. This is disgusting.
  18. Day late, dollar short Schuerholz does it again. We waited too long. Everyone knows he was on roids now. BTW- I hear Soriano is topping out at 91 or 92. WTF? That's why we got him for almost nothing.
  19. Imagine if Speedy had gotten a cut or two from the new ball.. he could have been out injured for months. I prefer to call him Craig.
  20. His D is adequate at best. You sound like an abused wife. It's not acceptable. He's terrible. Did you see the airball and bricks?
  21. Quote: Quote: I just realized that Lue was 6-8 in the first half, 0-8 in the second. Combine that with Salims cold shooting and too many turnovers overall and you have an ugly collapse. I am really starting to dislike Lue. Main reason we lost the second half is him. He doesn't play defense and he was 0-8 from the field in second half. No way you win a close game with Lue cold and forcing it. If he would just move the ball more like in the beggining of the season and hit a open tree than he would be fine. I am tired of his wait for the last second and force a shoot or give to someone with 3 seconds left. He does that almost everytime he has the ball. He is starting to remind me of AL even though he is more clutch than Al but lately not so much. Dead on. He just waits and runs a weak pick and roll, where he keeps it every time. Not his fault, though. All on Woodson's shoulders. That's a great lineup with Craig/Lue, or Lue/Salim.
  22. Quote: Quote: Stop saying Craig is a solid pg. He is absolute garbage. BK is supposed to know these type of things. He can't shoot, pass or penetrate. He is the worst free-agent signing in Atlanta Hawks history. He passed and penetrated a lot tonight, and played solid D. Craig is OK, let's not get carried away. Worst FA ever is just asinine. And let's also not massage Babcock's sack here, either. That guy brought us these same winners: Steve Smith for JR Rider and Jim Jackson. Lon Kruger Terry Stotts Wright, Knight, Gasol for Shareef. Ed Gray Donnie Boyce Cal Bowdler Tyrone Corbin I may be digging too far, but isn't he also the guy who managed to sign Koncak to 13 million for 4 years, and thus MATCHING the Pistons' offer they stupidly gave him? After ONE nice playoff series of 12 points a game? And the all-time biggest gaffe in Atlanta sports history: Dominique Wilkins AND A FIRST for Danny Manning. 37 games of greatness. Here's what Pete had to say about it... "In-house, we asked ourself the question, 'Would we do this if we knew Danny would not be back?' " said general manager Pete Babcock, describing a pre-trade scenario. "It was unanimous on our staff that it was worth making the deal. "Lenny [Wilkens] and I are disappointed Danny is not coming back. But we were prepared for it. We made the trade with the understanding he wouldn't be back." If you truly are a Hawks fan, NEVER come to this board and defend the guy who killed the spirit of an entire fan base. Who's the real Hawks fan? If you had a problem with Ty Corbin, you've never played, or, if you did, no one liked playing with you. He was a consumate teammate. He is the type of player we are missing. WTF? He didn't make 25 f$5king million dollars, either.
  23. Have we been to the playoffs without him? I never loved the guy, but give me a break. He had a pretty decent run and made some mistakes at the end. All I know is, we had a chance every night back then. Let me guess, you like the direction of the franchise, right? By the way, I thought Kruger was a good coach. He had Reef and J.T. That would kill any coach.
