What don't you get? I want the team to win. I'm just not a "stay the course" kind of guy. Are you happy with 39 wins in two years? Are you happy with a 4 game losing streak, three of which occured at home? You probably don't care. You don't live here.

Whoa! Hold up. T-lue has played beyond his abilities so far. Any blame for our problems should start and end with BK and Woody. I think the guys give great effort. It's amazing that everyone thinks we're so much better defensively. Really, we still don't box out(which is part of defense), leave way too many open 3's, and don't defend the pick and roll with competence. Al's gone. That's pretty much it. Shelden and Lorendu have helped, as well. You can't blame Lue. I think this is the beginning of a confusing stretch for the Hawks. When Marvin comes back to full health, we should be a very athletic team. We will win games and look good. We will blow games that we shouldn't. My great fear is that we win 34-38 games, miss the playoffs and Woody is commended for overacheiving. That would be a disastrous sequence of events for the team. I'm a Homer. I know a lot of people think I just like to bash the coach. That's not true. I'm just not blinded by my Homerism. Real teams have real coaches. I used to get upset with Fratello and Lenny. I was talking about next year. It is after the deadline. This year is obviously over. Name a Super Bowl champ that lost three straight. It would be a last ditch effort to help Vick. Dunn only has one, maybe two good years after this season. All of the pieces would be there on paper. No excuses.

Nice post. I agree with you on almost everything. I think Speedy's presence is pushing T-lue. The pick and roll thing is obvious. You shouldn't have to feel bad for noticing it, you should feel bad for having to watch it over and over. I'm not as optimistic. Woody could change things. He's the coach. Does anyone think Jerry Sloan would let Smoove kill himself and the team by shooting so many 3's? I've said it as well, we only have on play for Joe. Joe runs baseline and comes up through a screen on the left at the high post. Regardless of talent, if you are aggressive as a coach, and attack every moment, you can win. Woody is not demanding enough for this team to ever learn how to win. I don't consider 34 wins or so, winning by the way. How about he blast the refs after the Bucks game? The ghost foul on Redd was worthy of that. Nothing. there is just not enough emotion, or actual x and o implementation to sustain any form of winning.

We were winners my whole life, until the last 7 miserable years. I said Free Agent signing. Hendu bashing is overrated. He played on a winning team.

Can we have some of what they're taking. I like the guy, but his role needs to be limited. He cannot dribble. Period. That kills his game. He also loses his man way too much on D. Garnett is arguably the most talented big man to ever play the game. Maybe Smoove will turn into a super freak smaller version of Big Smooth. (Sam Perkins) for you youngsters. A more athletic Robert Horry? I like Josh's stroke. It looks good. He will be a very good 3 point shooter one day. That day though, is not today. We just need to get a coach that can use him properly. He is a young kid. It falls on the coach with me.

I'm tired of bashing Speedy. Look up my posts. I'm pretty sure I hate his signing more than any person on this board. He is a homeless man's Jacque Vaughn. Am I the only one who remembers Jacque? Personally, I prefer his game to Speedy's. Especially when you consider the price differential. That's the main thing. Aside from sucking in almost every conceivable way, his contract is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge for a player of his talents. He is, I think, going to be the worst free-agent signing in Hawks history.

The Spirit group is putting them on youtube. They are also on the Hawks site. They are so funny. It's like Groundhog Day with him. When asked about the game Woodson said "You watched it, just like I did.". Memo to Woodson - You're supposed to coach it. He also thought that our inability to track down 18 foot brick rebounds in the closing seconds, was more important than how they actually got the shots. Everyone who plays knows that when a ball bricks like that, it is very difficult to board. they usually fly out to the 3 point line where the other team is. For him to even talk about rebounds is insulting to me. What about the 4 wide open shots? We're even giving those up in our wins. What about DEMANDING that Smoove not shoot 3's. Sit him, run a play for him. Anything but standing and watching. He's the coach. He's also drowning. I hope he enjoys these paychecks. They will be the last of this size that he will ever see.

Looks the opposite to me. It is black and white BTW. If we were talking about why we couldn't win in the playoffs with a good team, I would agree with you. This is another thing all together. We're talking about losing 3 in a row at home. In a make or break year for the coach, no less. There are a number of black and white issues that you have to recognize just to become a winning team. I fear the Spirit does not get it. Why should Woodson be on the hotseat? He's the same crapppy coach he was last year, and the same crappy coach he'll be next year. It's like they arbitrarily give you 3 years. BK's "vision" is a dream. A bad one. This is really for another thread. Everyone knows how I feel about Woody. I just wanted to gauge the apathy. Seems 7 years of this has really led to acceptance. We play like an AAU team. We haven't been a team for years. We won't be a real one until we get a real coach. Real teams win the games we just lost.

Are you serious? What's ridiculous is the thought of going through another sub .500 season. It doesn't have to happen. I live here. I was born here. Do you know what it's like to be a Hawks fan? 9 1/2 out of 10 people you talk to think we are a joke. Every kid thinks we suck. We're almost a dying breed. I like Smoove, but Woodson needs to, among other things, keep him in line. BTW, have you ever played a sport? It's been 7 years. This is getting so old. It's the way we lose. It's coaching. The players deserve better.

A real coach doesn't stress things to players, they demand things of them. Think Woody demands much?
