Fans React to Big Dog Trade a lot of big dog fans is now rooting for the hawks, also a lot of fans who doesn't live in atlanta say something like "jason terry is a 2 guard or dan dickau is starting at the point ..." but i don't blame, its all ESPN, Sporting News ... etc. faults for brain-washing those fans. in the near future, when we get our recognition, hopefully people will know that JT is a point guard.

those EXPERTs know nothing about the hawks and come up with all sorts of non sense suggestions/solutions ... i can write better articles than those guys even though i don't get to see them except on national tv. ... Jay, it is always good to have u around writing something that is TRUE and INFORMATIVE rather than Ford's plain IMAGINATION and/or OUTDATED INFORMATION.

i wouldn't say dan dickau is a bust or a star. he hasn't proven anything to me yet (in the NBA level). but chad said terry struggles at the point, and thats non sense! look at his stats, look at our team records. he struggled in his rookie season, does that mean he is struggling now? KG struggled in his rookie season, so what? he is a superstar now. Chad needs to do some research, thats all i wanna say. as for dickau, i would love to see him help the hawks in whatever way. if he turns out to be a superstar, it will only help the hawks. but chad definitely needs to do some research man.

i've been thinking about the same trade. hendu + CC for coleman, but the problem is, will the sixers do it? CC only played around 190 games in 5 years, i believe he never played more than 50 games a season. as for hendu, his contract is not cap friendly. will the sixers take a longer contract even though hendu can put up better numbers if given the same minutes as coleman? what is their cap status, getting 2 long term contract could put them into the luxury tax?

DJ money, from my understanding, u are absolutely right. if indy's pick is protected, bucks will have to take ours.

i remember reading from SOMEWHERE saying that he won't be available for comment until tuesday due to his battery assult .... problems. so we will have to wait for a couple days. if u really wanna know the answer to 2 and 3, they are probably something like, i am really happy to be here, this team is young ... with shareef ... i think i will fit in nicely .... u know, all pro athletes say those kinda thing when they got traded or drafted. first stated that they are happy, then say how good the team is and then mention one of the stars on the team, then just say he will fit in nicely.

i read something about ewing seeking a coaching job or something. anyways, i think willis is in better shape, a better player NOW, can play both F and C, i didn't know their stats were so similar before i checked, but still, i will take willis over ewing.

actually i suggested oakley in 1 of my previous post on friday, but i guess everybody were so hyped about glenn that not many of u read it. Read it here. i would like to see willis here instead of oakley (i just don't like him). but i definitely think that oakley can help us.

here is my to do list for the rest of the offseason: 1)trade hendu+crawford+email for goog y it works for the hawks? goog's contract ends at the same time as JT and dion (1 yr shorter than crawford and hendu). so that we can give JT an extension without going into the luxury tax area. y it works for the suns? after that incident happened to goog, he is not the same player once he was. hendu and crawford are upgrades over goog. e-mail can be cut immediately or serve as a backup point. y it may not work? suns just gave marion a huge contract extension, which will put them in the luxury tax area if they trade us goog. 2)sign JT to an extension! 3)sign Ira if he still wants his $1 million/year pay check as a backup, if no, y not sign GRANT LONG if he doesn't plan to retire? he is old, but experienced. a former hawk who would definitely love to be a hawk again. he is a friend of reef, and best of all, he knows all the defense tricks, plays the 3 and 4, he might not do as good a job as ira becoz of his age, but definitely effective enough and affordable. 4)sign kevin willis or charles oakley, if willis signs with another team, we can sign oakley (i don't like him, such a dirty player), but he plays D (defense and dirty), big enough to play C occasionally, definitely a player u want to have on ur team instead of the other teams. he will sign for the minimum or something close like that becoz he wants to play of a contender (and we are), but i would take willis if he is available. 5)sign haslem, he is a project, but give him his chance, he could be a solid NBAer. thoughts?

this is very interesting, seems like everybody thinks that the arrival for big dog will affect either shareef or jt's stats, and nobody think that big dog's number will be affected much. the question is will he gets the same amount of shots he had when he was in milwaukee?

so do i. but there is no way we are gonna give him $3 million/year contract for 3 years just becoz he showed great defense ability for half a season. if he accept for $1 million/year, we can sign him for 2 years with the second year being team options.

Finally a so-called "expert" did some research instead of making himself looks like a fool. a good step forward, but i bet anyone in this forum can do just as good a job as him. some (ie jaywalker) probably can do better than that. it is definitely a good improvement for guys from espn, they finally knows that JT is the point guard and DJ is the shooting guard.

jay, i love ur articles! anyway, i am really interested to see what kind of defensive rotation can lon come up. DJ can probably guard the opponent's best scorer, JT, Big Dog and reef should be able to guard their own man, with the inside shot blocking presences of theo, our defense is decent, if lon can perhaps come up with any above avgerage defensive rotation, we will be great. what u are saying is not totally true. we had 2 shooters to pass to (at the end of the season), they are JT and DJ (remember those free falling 3 pters?) next season, looks like we will have 3 (+Big Dog)

i m 19, just love his game since when he was a rookie (his baseline spin moves that he used so much in his rookie season is the best, i've since shaq, c web, kg done that, but not even close to shareef's, took me 2 years to learn that and a year to improve and make it effective every single time when i use it, but since then, i've only grew 1 inch, to short to play the sf now =( ), but then the more i know about him, the more i think he is different from other NBA stars, (ie. i used to think that he doesn't have enough media exposure becoz he is in vancouver, a great city but not much people cares about b-ball. reef, back then, he was one of the most underated player, said, "i don't play for that kind of stuff ... even right now, man, people didn't need to say nothing bout me. the thing i like is when my teammates make me feel like i'm giving a good effort, i appreciate taht. but as far as being on tv or getting attention that way. i've never played for that ... " hawksfreak, u are so fortunate to know a guy like shareef (and he knows u too, thats important). i wish i have the same opportunities like u have. anyway, u should learn a lot from reef and become a better person growing up btw, shareef was the reason y i became a hawks fan a year ago, but i just love this team so much, even if shareef is to be traded to somewhere else now, i am pretty sure i will still follow the hawks, this team will be really great.

Shareef, my growing up idol, is definitely a better person/player than big dog. but considering the fact that we get big dog for toni + leon + a 1st rd makes this question very very difficult to answer. Playoffs03
