Oh. On to Toronto!

The Rapturds might just make the finals this year.

Damn Hawks. Where is the D-Fence?
I still think the Hawks need to make a run at Ibaka in free agency amd move Sap to the wang.
-
Nice win by the Hawks. Clearly Howard and Sap can coexist and it's only going to get better. I think we will see a lot more games like this from Howard as the season progresses.
Hawks need to get their 3-pointers to fall. This game would have been a blowout had they made just a few more.
The team gets a bit of a break after Friday's game so hopefully they can use the time to get some rest but also hit the practice court and just work on running sets until they are 2nd nature.

The Hawks are 1 and 9 in the last 10 games and I still think this is absolute crap.

Baze needs to slow it down. Been saying this since the start of the season. He needs to make sure he is set before taking the shot. Work on that first and then slowly work on speeding up the shooting motion.

Rough loss. Hawks need some time to regroup. They have a few days between a games after December 9th. Hope they can make the most of it.

He cannot create his own shot one on one in the post. This is not a solution.
Sir, I respectfully disagree.
Howard's post game is very good. The problem is a lot of teams double him or have help defense close enough that he cant get his shot off before they rotate over. The Hawks know this and try to keep the opposition honest but that is difficult when the rest of the team cant buy a bucket.

as for baze I think he just need an opportunity at his natural position instead of trying too force him to be SF.
I think that is the direction they are trying to go. Prince has seen increased minutes but he's also a rookie and not ready to start.
If Prince improves enough this season then we could see him start and Baze moved to the 2 with Kyle off the bench. It is going to take some time though.

The whole team is terrible on offense right now. It's unfair to place blame on a single player.

So, Splitter has to be getting close to playing again, right?

Hawks are in a bit of a shooting slump right now. Looks like they really miss Thabo as well.
Timmy Jr continues to play well though, which is promising.

Hawks had trouble scoring in the 4th. Besides that they played a good game.

This game will test the defense of our guards. Should be a good one.

Honestly im looking forward to him playing! His smarts in this system since he has basically played in it his whole career combined with his size off the bench is intriguing. I think it's a nice one two punch combo to have him come in after Dwight and bang in the paint with these guys more...talk about size we've needed for years! Hopefully he stays healthy.
I'd like to see him play as well. Although I think it will take a couple of weeks for him to get back into a groove.

Delaney has some sick handles. His shot hasn't been falling, but you can tell it's a good one. Looks like a great pickup to me. This team is full of players with some serious swagger to their game, and I love it.
I think his shooting has been really good. At some point this season he is going to go bezerk from 3.

I hope this thread stays on the front page until the playoffs.

Dennis is fine.
I want to see Delaney catch on fire from 3. He can clearly shoot so it will happen at some point.

The only two things I want to see out of this game is improved team chemistry and lock-down defense.

Good point. I hate the little hip screens he has been doing. Wish we had Pero on staff to give him a lesson about setting a real screen.
I posted this in another thread but Harden also does this "arm grab" move where he traps his defenders arm under his and makes it look like a foul. He did it more than a few times towards the end of last nights game against the Cavs. The NBA needs to crack down on this crap. It has to be one of the cheapest moves I've seen in a while.
Anyway, I feel like the game against Houston is more than just Harden vs Dwight. It's going to be a really good test of the Hawks defense.
As for the lack of pick-and-roll, that will come with time. The season is young. If we're still having the same concerns by mid-season then there's a bigger problem.

After watching Houston vs Cleveland a bit last night I'm interested to see how the Hawks play against Houston this Saturday. Houston is very talented on offense so this will be a good test of our defense.
By the way, the "arm grab" that Harden uses to draw fouls needs some serious review by the NBA. I'm not a Cavs fan in the slightest and I wanted to throw something at the TV every time he used it. The refs better not pander to this crap on Saturday.

I think it's pretty awesome that Phillips is getting a makeover. I especially like the exterior windows. Always been a fan of stadiums/arenas with this design.
I'm not sure they need even more box seats though. Those always seem largely empty when I attend games, except for the playoffs.

Baze gets a bit of flack around here for his offense, but he is stellar on defense.

Sap isn't the problem. But he has always been just a bit undersized for a PF. If he dropped a bit of weight he could play SF.
