Rondo came here and got Hawk'd. Got immediately put in a position of being asked to do more than he's capable of.
Veteran leadership and back up ball handler ain’t asking for much

Rondo has probably been the biggest let down since Dwight. Hell at least Dwight half way produced

No it's not. It's these free agents that he brought in this season. They have been an utter disaster.
To be fair, I think BB would be playing well if he wasn’t hurt. I like his no nonsense professional demeanor too.

Also, this is a great time for Rondo to start showing some leadership and justify us giving his bum ass $15M
We gave him 15 mil ?

Okongwu is going to be a star in the NBA by his third season. I said it before he was drafted by Atlanta. I liked his overall production as a freshman in college and his upside. I feel like there is some untapped ability that he hasn't been able to show yet. He will eventually be able to space the floor some. His defense will be plus plus. He's already shown the ability to be an efficient rim runner.
He’s got a long way to go size-wise to bring that to fruition, but other than that O agree.

Cam's shooting is beyond "Midrange Shawty" dreadfulness. It's at a level I honestly never though another NBA player could reach.
The boy is BAD. And please don't get me started with his "spectacular defense". Josh could also do that every now and then.
This has always been Cams problem. He’s TERRIBLY and AGGRAVATINGLY inconsistent.

They weren't the better team when watching the games either. Utah has clearly been the best team we played all year. They looked on another level.
Last I checked they were doing good in the standings too. They are legit

What is the meaning ? I didn’t know that...

I knew if we were going to take another step towards being competitive that we would need to rely on internally developing players rather than solely the free agent market. Trae/Dre/Collins/Capela is quite a nice start. I don't consider any other player in the "core" at this point. Meaning I'd be willing to deal anyone else in order to get better. At this point, when you've got 4 of a starting 5, it's no longer about amassing talent. The whole game now is about finding other pieces in terms of their FIT. We need to find the right fit at SG, and the right fits for the bench (some of which we probably already have).
Now, to take the next step (the last step??) in the starting 5 we just need to go out and get the absolute best defensive SG who can contribute in offensive sets but doesn't require the ball. Kevin Huerter continues to develop but neither he or Cam is likely going to be the "championship" answer at SG. I'm not totally ready to give up on Cam because he does have the tools, but he needs to be more complementary and not force his offense.
I truly think Cam can be the answer. He just has to settle into a 3 and D role FIRST. Get comfortable there and expand from that. I feel like there’s a lot of pressure on him to be more to “live up to his potential” so he’s just all over the place. If he can focus on playing the world class D he’s shown and becoming a more reliable spot up shooter, anything he does beyond that is just gravy on the biscuit.

That would still be horrible. Towns is vastly overrated.
Nah the TWolves are just a dumpster fire of an organization.
Can you imagine how deadly this team would be with a PnR AND PnP big that can score on his own and is a deadly spot up shooter

There's probably an embarrassingly high number of folks here that would do that terrible deal.
Shiiiid swap out Cam for Hunter and I would

His raw stats are comparable to Kawhi's 4th season when he was also 23. The visible differences are that Dre's been more efficient but Kawhi netted more boards, steals, and blocks.
If he keeps playing like this his end of the year offensive numbers might end up more like year 5 Kawhi.
I don't know if Dre has a DPOY trophy in his future but he could honestly get pretty close to Kawhi if he tightens his handle, improves his shot release speed, and works on his footwork and post fade. Those were things Leonard didn't fully bring out consistently untill years 5 and 6.
This jump is amazing given he played an incomplete season and had less practice time.
I hope HE can take on the leadership role from the team. I think if he keeps this up, he may be the guy who can reign Trae in respectfully so that we can get the Trae we saw in the very beginning of the season.

He didn’t have a lot of confidence in his handle in college and his first year, but for him to be making these kind of strides early is certainly going to lock him in as an All Star wing. My Kawhi-lite projections don’t look so crazy anymore

Yeah, but he's young which is why I said long run.
46 minutes ago, bleachkit said:The problems he showed at Georgia are still there. It's not just his rock bottom shooting splits. His block, steal and defensive rebounding rate is among the lowest of NBA wings. Considering his substantial athletic gifts, that is very concerning. He has so far to go to become a winning player.
Yeah. I don’t think he went to a place that will maximize what he can be as a player too. He’s the classic high potential athlete with the right mindset (aggressive scorer) and raw skills. Where his career trends depends on the level of dedication to developing his own talent. From what Jimmy said, those boys up there in Minny ain’t got that fire to be great.

Great comeback. I don't know what the Pistons were doing late in fourth. They could have run out the clock.
Collins/Capela (JC3?) - is just kicking butt. When they are both in the game it's pretty great and if Trae ever gets really cooking, for a whole game, then watch out.
We got a rough schedule coming up. It'd be a good time to get in a groove and hopefully get Gallo back out there.
It’s just the kind of game we needed before hitting a rough stretch. I think we see our main players show up big over the next stretch.

That’s obvious now but who really had Rondo pegged as THIS washed up to begin to the season.
