I've actually seen a lot of writers declare us as "Winners" from this draft and say they liked our draft overall. It's like a complete 180 from reading the opinions of my own team's fanbase smh.

I just like the fact that we may be looking at 2 lotto picks and possibly 3 draft picks next season.
Im already excited to see how Trae expands JC and Prince’s games. Summer League itself is gonna be fun to watch.

I think the scope of next years draft will drastically change by the midpoint of the season.

Notice how all the smart teams were trying to get Luka. Seems like were the only team really high on Trae.
Dallas and Orlando are smart teams? Lol

The only trait I hope for Trae to have that Steph does is the ability to energize his teammates and crowd with his shooting the way Steph does.
He definitely did it at OU, and when Steph hits a few threes it’s just crazy seeing how the entire energy of the fans and his teammates changes. Even when it’s on steph’s off nights it’s crazy. I’ve always wished to see that type of connection for our squad but our fanbase is usually just being critical of everything and down on ourselves.

How do we draft 'star' players if not in the lottery.
Prince wasn't our own Lottery pick. Trade., our own pick that year was #23.
Not all star players are lottery picks.
and obviously he wasn’t our own but that literally is us picking in the lottery though.

Imitation leads to failure. Be your own man. Huerter is by result frustration over taking Trae.
Or maybe, we just want a team that can shoot? Lol

Uummm...we haven't drafted in the lottery in 10 years.
Who said anything about drafting in the lottery?
And we literally drafted Taurean 12th lol.

Hawks are always imitators and miss the mark...first Detroit, then Spurs East, now Warriors very light.
Why can't we get our own Schtick? Sigh.
Because we usually don’t take risks on drafting players with star potential. We just choose the safe picks that turn out to be nice complimentary players. This year we’re doing something different so we’ll see how it goes.

Yeah we drafted the dude in shorts....smh...
The only players I’ve seen in suit shorts have been competing for championships so maybe it’s a sign lol

Just because we drafted shooters doesn’t mean we want to be the warriors lol
We’ve tried to get shooters plenty of drafts before, scoring is just even more important in the modern day nba.

I just want anyone but JJJ. I'm happy
Yeah his blazer choice alone made me feeling like we made the right decision

Do we also not like Kevin Huerter? Lol

I think y’all are too invested in unproven players, one thing I appreciate about Trae is the work he put in the summer before he went to OU. NO ONE expected him to play that well and he silenced a lot of critics. I’m definitely gonna support him in a Hawks jersey

.400 sucks too.
I think we’re done here.

Sorry. What was I thinking? .398 is much better than .400.
If the difference between him being bad and being decent is .002 percent, then you’re wasting you’re time using that to support your claim.

Trae is a horrible speaker as well. The guy is absolutely terrible in interviews.
No one cares about his interview skills.

I've seen it posted on here on quite a few posts that he shot .398 in college.
Really... even if this is true, you’re basing this off .002 percent of a difference. I can’t deal with y’all tonight lol

Give him a day. We are all upset right now. The protection of the pick bothers me more than selecting Trae.
I can agree with that. The protection shouldn’t be there but I’m excited for Trae in ATL. He could really be something special here.

How do you know? Young played in a college league and did not face real competition until the tournament. He gacked that opportunity.
Meanwhile, Doncic has played against grown men for the past two years and he stepped up and put his team on his shoulders. He is an incredible passer.
This is not even close. It is unbelievable. This is Marvin Williams instead of Chris Paul/Deron Williams.
The funny part about the Marc-Cp/Deron thing is they all got the same amount of rings still lol.

MPJ in Denver might be a good look for him

He will struggle with the big NBA guards pushing him around ... teams figured out that he didn’t like contact and he struggled after that
This ain’t the 90’s bro, the nba aint even that physical til the playoffs.
WELCOME HOME TRAE!!!

I wonder if Huerter is gonna be healthy in time to play any during summer league?
