  1. It's hard to ignore the counting stats lol. A player that only scored over 20 points twice in 35 games and got over 9 rebounds six times is just hard to value over someone that got over 20 17 times in 33 games and more than 9 rebounds 23 times. I'd rather have the impact that you can't ignore rather than the impact I have to dive deep to find in the analytics.
  2. Draymond is a far better passer than JJJ. He's also a better rebounder, but we'll just hope for the best if we draft him. He's just a lot more of a compliment type of player than a leader.
  3. JJJ will probably foul out of his workout today
  4. The main problem I have with JJJ is gonna be the amount of fouls he's gonna rack up and sitting through them all smh
  5. My sentiments exactly, a workout warrior would definitely be a let down right now.
  6. I'm excited for Hami and Trevon. I hope we get one of them at 30 or 34.
  7. I just think having him could be amazing just because of the matchup problems he'll present for the other teams we play.
  8. I'm saying BPM for your rookie year is not a good gauge for who's best. Lonzo Ball has a better BPM than Donovan Mitchell. I don't think any of us would consider Lonzo the better player right now or that he had a better year. BPM will have you ignoring how they actually played over the course of the year lol.
  9. BPM is misleading, it's not the best measurement. You can literally just play less minutes and be able to post a better BPM than someone that's playing more and literally doing more for their team.
  10. BPM is a relative stat though, I'm talking about what he's ACTUALLY done. He's someone that's going to need a lot of work to pan out in the league. The only thing he can guarantee me as of right now is hitting wide open shots, rim running, playing aggressive defense and fouling more than he blocks shots.
  11. Jaren Jackson literally averaged 3.0 blocks a game. Mo Bamba literally averaged 3.7 blocks a game. Per 40 minutes, JJJ would average 5.5 bpg (He played 21 minutes a game) but he would also average 5.9 fouls a game. Which means for every block he would have an accompanying foul. He would literally average being foul trouble and fouling out every game.
  12. I mean, obviously watching them play hasn't helped your understanding so I figured maybe the literal numbers that they put up might help. JJJ is a player you'd want for potential to do things. He really hasn't produced anything of note if you look at his season. I mean look at the conference tournament and NCAA tournament performances he had, literally all of them are forgettable. It's just hard for me to really put him above Bagley and Bamba when he can barely stay on the court in big games.
  13. So is Bamba just a better defender than JJJ? He averaged more blocks with less fouls in more minutes than JJJ did. So what exactly is the difference there? And Bagley obvious had a much bigger impact on his team winning than JJJ did lol. It isn't his fault Coach K doesn't coach defense.
  14. If his body control was that great, he would get those blocks with a lot less fouls. He literally averaged more fouls than blocks this year (3.2 fpg to 3.0 bpg)
  15. He needs development literally in every facet lol He couldn't even stay on the court at MSU because he fouled so much, he's not half the scorer Bagley is and he doesn't have the length of Bamba as a bonus. The NBA is a different monster when it comes to competition and he doesn't have the natural gifts to make an early impact as much as the others. He's literally gonna need every bit of the same development Bamba needs offensively minus the ability to shoot wide open shots. JJJ is raw, he's young serge ibaka on offense. But in his case he doesn't even have the production to back up his play. He only scored over 20 points twice, and that's against college talent. He had 6 double-doubles the whole season compared to 14 for Bamba and 22 for Bagley. JJJ has a ways to go, his more hyped for his potential than his production.
  16. If you don't think we can develop Bamba why would you want a player that needs more development than him or any other top prospect in JJJ? lol
  17. He is a bit less coordinated than his peers though, that's why he gets caught trying to do too much with the ball and turning it over at such a high clip.
  18. Bagley has a better shooting percentage from literally everywhere on the court than JJJ. The only thing JJJ shot better at was the free throw line. So statistically the only way JJJ was spacing the court more than Bagley was on the free throw line (lol) or by not being on it at all because he was on the bench.
  19. The funny part about this game is that Marvin only played 10 minutes before he got an eye injury. He still almost out-rebounded JJJ who played 24 minutes due to his usual foul trouble. Bagley had 6 rebounds in 10 minutes, 5 were offensive and you want me to believe JJJ getting him off him spot in a highlight was the whole story...
  20. You're saying he can only go one hand as if he isn't better going one hand than jackson is at going anything LOL. The few highlights you have of Jaren on offense, Bagley does everything more consistently, more fluidly and more efficiently than Jaren. Jaren even turns the ball over at a higher rate than Bagley even though Bagley was obviously used at a higher rate and was a more focal point of his team's offense. If you want JJJ to look good don't try to compare them offensively.
  21. Honestly I've seen every highlight mix you could possibly send me on Jaren Jackson and I still know that he can't create offense for himself. Most his dribbling is literally going to be one dribble and a full speed attempt at a layup or dunk. He lacks post moves or really any creativity down there. It's really just all effort mostly not an actual array of offensive moves.
  22. You know you're wrong for this lol. You can just watch them play and tell Marvin is just naturally more offensively gifted than Jaren. Ball-handling is not Jaren's strength, remember when you complained about Marvin "only being able to go left"? Well Jaren can't really go either hand honestly. Doesn't make him a bad player but it's obvious Marvin can make an impact on offense without being spoon fed every opportunity.
  23. On the perimeter he can't handle the ball at all lol. Majority of his shots are just wide open ones that come off PnR. He can create his own offense at all outside of turnaround hook-shots in the paint as far as I can tell. Everything else is put-backs, layups, dunks and pretty much opportunities completely created by others. He's a young Serge Ibaka basically.
  24. Yeah, JJJ doesn't even look comfortable dribbling for 5 seconds in the paint. Offensively Embiid is by far more advanced than JJJ is.
