  1. We shouldn't. He's not that good and he has serious injury concerns. Yeah man, maybe this year we're the smart ones when it comes to the elite draft prospects for once....
  2. You're overstating the importance of BPM. If it mattered that much why would JJJ not make any All-American teams when Ayton, Bagley and Trae all did? He just doesn't have the production. He had two big games, other than that he's solid in his role, it is what it is.
  3. Like I've said before, he's a Serge Ibaka-lite right now. He'll be able to contribute to your team but you'd have to pair him with players that can light it up. We're in a league that requires a lot of scoring to get consistent wins.
  4. I've never said JJJ is a bad player by any means, I'm fully aware of what he can do for a team but I'm not hyping him up when he hasn't done enough to earn it.
  5. Who said he had no impact? I said he was virtually a no show in the biggest tournaments of the year. He wasn't the best or most important player on his team in college. That's just being honest.
  6. My eyes barely saw him as the best player on his own team and virtually a no show in the biggest tournaments of the year....
  7. MOD INSERT Supes opened up this thread for extensive discussion of Bagley v JJJ. He asked that I bring in recent posts and I went back for posts in the last 5 hours and dropped them in which now appear before his opening post. So added this intro to the first post dropped in. Now have fun with this ACC/Big10 Battle. It's also amazing how actually watching him play is an even better indicator of his actual impact on the game. His foul trouble got the best of him majority of the time. I mean, if we're being honest JJJ only had 2 big games this year. Besides that he was just a solid role player that helped the team in spurts.
  8. There's no way he falls to 19. Even at that, I'm pretty sure we're the only team not giving him a serious look smh.
  9. JJJ isn't a guy who played limited minutes?? Bagley averaged 33 minutes a game, do you know how many times JJJ played 30 minutes in a game????? 4 times. 35 games played, and he played more than 30 only 4 times. He played 20 or less 15 times. This man played 764 minutes (in 35 games) the entire season to 1114 for Bagley (33 games). You're boy can't stay on the floor man. In his own conference tournament and the NCAA tournament this man got more fouls than blocks all 4 games. Only scored over 10 ONCE (5-13 for 13 points, 1-6 from deep), and those are the most important games of the season for him. When it comes to the big stage he's folded time and time again.
  10. Jaren was barely on the floor though
  11. I'm a big Julius Randle fan and he's better than Julius lol He can shoot it a better for sure. Randle is smaller but crazy strong and that helps him bully folks on the court. Bagley is much more finesse with his game.
  12. That's the main reason I want him, his defense needs work just as every other player but if his effort is 100% at all times then I have more confidence in it improving in all facets.
  13. I'd say their master manipulators in the fact that they really know how to get the most out of the media side of things. I've seen Bamba doing interviews everywhere, he's very well-spoken so they really maximized the opportunities to put him in front of cameras. It's been working great honestly, people focus on his flaws less and less and fall more in love with the person he is. We aren't really getting that with anyone outside of maybe Trae Young (But obviously Trae's flaws are harder to dismiss).
  14. I think introducing a new area of injury would be counterproductive. I'm sure the hip spasms are hip spasms. In his defense most players aren't that great of interviewers lol.
  15. 2 injury concerns. You're acting like he wasn't in high school literally a year ago, it's not that serious.
  16. I like Kevin Knox but he can really disappear on the court sometimes, which is surprising for someone his size with his skillset.
  17. It's just a strain, it's not like having another surgery. I don't think this is significant enought to be a deal-breaker.
  18. I wouldn't dismiss him so soon
  19. I would love to have a work ethic like Shai's on the team. I'm a UK fan so I've watched those players closely over the year, I wish we were giving Jarred Vanderbilt a closer look. He could really turn out to be solid.
  20. Well let's not like CP didn't come with his problems as well lol. Folks thought he was a dirty player (mildly still true) and that he wouldn't be a great defender in the NBA because of his size and length. I think Marvin's athleticism and potential really won everyone over and his back injury pretty much hindered him from really reaching that potential.
  21. I ain't putting Bamba over Bagley just yet, I know how bad our team needs offense right now and I'm not in love with the idea of watching Dennis be the number one option for another year.
  22. I can respect it lol I'd give any of them a chance though. Summer League is right around the corner anyways so JJJ would have a chance to win me over.
  23. I'm pretty much happy with anyone at this point, If I had to list in order the pick I'd be most happy to have I'd rank it: Trae Bagley Bamba Doncic Porter JJJ With the top 3 being very close to each other.
  24. Bamba really impresses me with his intellect. I feel like he's really done his research before any of his interviews and that's admirable in a player looking to join any organization. Definitely wouldn't mind us adding him at #3.
  25. With the rules of the nba now, incredible offensive players are at an all-time high in value. You only need good team defense to compete for a championship and that's more in the playoffs than regular season for sure.
