  1. I would say Piakowski or Voshon Leonard but they are players that come off the bench and it looks as thow Hansen may how that position. Darrell Armstrong could supply help but once again he is a SG in a PG's body, just like JT. Ricky Davis fits the bill but he is another Rider. Brian Shaw is long in the tooth.
  2. Their is no one on the roster besides the rookie Hansen and JT that can play the 2 spot. I for one am not interested in DJ, Memphis saw enough of him to go with James Posey. This definetley looks like a throw away year. We need to get a good coach such as Carlisle or Fratello.

    Big Dog

Well when Diaw is playing SF everyone will be whinning about he only scores 8 points a game. Just maybe they have someone else in mind and it won't be Posey because he signed with Memphis today. Big Dog will be missed

    Big Dog

I would disagree with you. I saw several games on tv and a couple in person. Big Dog shot very well from the top of the arc.

    Big Dog

Everyone on the board seems to be bashing Big Dog with the exception of Diesel. If you have followed the Hawks as many years as I have one must take a look at the past........ The Hawks have always lacked the quality outside shooting threat........We have had Lou Hudson and Pistol who could shoot the ball, we had Tom Mcmillen who shot pretty well. Doc Rivers, Armond Hill, Tom Henderson, Nique, and others were never pure shooters, heck even Steve Hawes our one-time undersized center could shoot the jumper. I remember when we made a trade for Terry Furlow from Cleveland who came in and shot the lights out and put the Hawks firmly into the playoffs. I guess what I'm trying to say is Big Dog is a legitimate big time shooter, yes Terry can shoot the ball but we have no other outside threats. Teams have camped in the lane for years daring the Hawks to, shoot the ball. Theo complains about the misgivings of the guards and Big Dog on the defensive end. I would say they could complain just as loudly about his no offense game and turnovers, [censored] Theo has no hands. I'm just saying we are trading a legitimate pure shooting player and I see no one to take his place.
  6. I woudln't have that piece of you know what on this team. He is nothing more than trouble and the 76ers would be glad to get rid of him
  7. Diesel, I agree with you on selecting Fratello. If you remember though, when Fratello left that was one of the things people in this organization said "He couldn't get along with the players and was too rough on them"
  8. Why should the Hawks get any respect from DA or anybody else??? This is a screwed up organization that is in no better shape than the Clippers. AOL couldn't give a rats A$$ about the Hawks, that is the problem! Another large reason is the sale of the team is still in limbo. McDavid to the best of my knowledge has not finalized the deal and nobody can be hired anyway. To many people are looking at this team through rose colored glasses!
  9. I've been on this board and the accessatlanta board for a number of years, I know who cares.............. Anyway, the current state of this Hawks team and organization is the worst since I started following the Hawks in the Late 70s as a kid. Take a look at the organization from top to bottom. Pete Babcock has gotten all the blame by the majority of the members on this board and the media. I would submit that Stan Kasten has been the MAJOR player in the decline of this franchise. Same thing with the Braves until John Shuerholz (sp) came in and righted the ship. Now we have ownership issues and I knew the day AOL took control of the team we were in trouble. Ted always loved the Braves more than the Hawks, that was a well-known fact. The current roster does have talent. I personally am not sold on JT or Reef. JT is a scorer and not a playmaker while I think Reef is a good player offensively, he is also deficit as a defender. Theo has always been a shotblocker and not a rebounder. One problem the Hawks have always had was a player to come off the bench and hit the jumper. Anyway enough with my ramblings, I visit often but don't write much anymore. IMO the Hawks need to hire a strong basketbal mind to run the franchise and then a good coach that has done it in the past. If not, we will continue the downhill desent........
  10. I would hate for that Commy Bas*%$@ to become the head of the Hawks again. He should be ran out of the country!
  11. I agree with the guard situation. I would however trade JT but his value to other teams is the salary that is still low. He will be a good sixth man but he is neither a point or a shooting guard.
  12. if you notice much of his hype never comes to fruition.
  13. I would not trade Grob for Spree. The age difference alone would say no for me. Besides, GRob is the best perimeter shooter and scorer we have had since Nique. We need a point guard and this team will be fine. Trade JT for Andre Miller!
  14. IMHO, there is nothing anybody will give the Hawks in return. I would not trade Robinson or Theo, and I would think hard before letting Reef go. Terry is another story, he won't ever get it done playing in his current state of mind. He is a good shooter and terrible defender, he would be a good 6th man for a good team. I don't see the Hawks making any moves, this franchise needs leadership and coaching and until that is fixed you can make all the deals in the world and not improve.
  15. Did anyone notice that Nazr did not play but 4 minutes last night along with JT sitting out in the 4th? Players don't usually play when they are about to be traded. Maybe, maybe not. I believe the Hawks will move Terry for the right price. I don't believe AOL will pay his price this summer. Maybe Olakandhi(sp) and Miller for JT and Nazr, don't think the numbers will work although I don't have the time to check. Just a couple of thoughts
  16. I posted that I was done with the Hawks because of the President and GM...........Well I was crucified about giving up on our Hawks and I didn't give up completely, never will. It has gotten worse and worse, if heads don't roll after the current fiasco, the Hawks will be playing in another city in a short time. The money that AOL is losing on the Hawks is gigantic. I sat on the floor at the end of last season and it was baaaad, but this is worse. Been a Hawk fan since 1978 and I have never seen it this bad with the physical talent on this roster. Guess Stan would like to have the Jerry West possibility back, eh. You can bet Memphis will continue to improve and the Hawks...............who knows
  17. I have NEVER agreed with a article that Mark Bradley of the AJC has written. Todays AJC article he wrote is different though, he finally wrote something that makes since. The Hawks have had Stan Kasten in control for years and they have floundered. Ever since Hubie Brown and Mike Fratello left the organization this team has been and remains a joke. The Hawks are pathetic. 1. Shareef - Turnover city, wild jumpers...............why doesn't he get on the block and post??? 2. Dog - Turnover city 3. No playmaking or shooting guard. The Hawks do not have a perimeter threat fron the SG position. Bottom Line - The Hawks need a power forward, a point guard, and a shooting guard, and a President/GM!
  18. I started out a long time ago with Steve Beckett and others on the accessatlanta forum. After last season I decided this ineptness by the Hawks franchise at least the most inept being Stan Kasten, was too much for me to handle. I've been a fan of the Hawks since 1978. Years and years of stupidity especially in the 90s and up to now have just totally drove me to the sidelines. The final straw was after the alledged Jerry West mess. I read the site often but as I have gotten older I don't go home every night and think about and watch the Hawks anymore, it's just not worth it. But as I said before I am and always will be a Hawk fan, just from the stands now though. I have observed since the changes beginning with Shareef the constant complaining and bickering and "trade proposals" that have been posted. Maybe as an observer now I see this is a young team, an no I don't care for Lon Krueger either, but they have to have time to jell. Everyone on this forum has DEMANDED changes to be made with the team and Pete has done that. Maybe we should wait a couple of years and let this team play together and get to know one another before we start chopping off heads. Don't hang on every game, it is a long season. Just wanted to stop by and say hi from an old Hawk fan.........................
