I'm mad as [censored]. Trid to watch the Hawks on the Western Swing---------no TV. I live 170 miles northwest of Atlanta! I wanted to watch the game last night and just as it was supposed to come on they put that idiotic bunch of dumbasses Worst dang sprotshow on. I'm pissed. I have tried to contact my local charter communications, the Hawks, and Fox Sportsouth with no success! Thanks for listening to my Ranting!

When a team continues to me mediocre and not produce, no fan base, why would a writer give theme any credit at all? I mean over the last 5-6 years the Hawks have been one of the worst franchises in the league. For example, they trade Smitty for JR rider, then thay follow that up witha trade for GRob who stayed one year, and the draft picks besides Terry have stunk. What else would you ant them to say? No, the Hawks have brought these comments upon themselves. I want the Hawks to get their stuff together, I have been a fan since 1978 and they are about as bad team and franichise that I have witnessed over the years. We all have hope, but let's e realistic.

To be truthful the Hawks and Jazz will probably battle for the worst record in the league. Memphis, Denver, and the Clipps all improved while the Hawks gave away their leading scorer for nothing, If the Hawks drastically improve on defense this year I will admit I was wrong, but Trading GRob did not improve this team. Loosing Ira Newble to Cleveland was a non-factor because he is nothing more than a fringe player and will prove that this year. Been a Hawks fan since 1978 and boo if you want, I'm just not looking through rose colored galsses like the majority on this board. Let's hope new ownership and Billy Knight can turn things around, but the signing of Steve Jackson bothers me. We have to look two or three years down the road to see what this past summer has brought to the franchise. Hawks will finish the year at somewhere around 28-54.

Kasten as the CEO would be a major mistake IMO

There are a lot of factors that go into a playoff team. The Hawks don't have the perimeter scoring besides JT. They need a legitimate shooting guard and that guard is not on the Hawks Roster. 2nd I think Shareef and Theo are just plain lazy in the latter part of the games, it happened over and over again last season. The team needs a motivator as coach. I like Terry Stotts but I just don't think he carries the weight of motivation of a Mike Fratello, etc. If the above things come together then the Hawks have a slight chance of the playoffs, but I think it's more like lottery city............... Too many problems with ownership this offseason and no player movement to speak of to impove the club.

Although I don't have any inside info like some on the board it is my feeling the the Hawks will probably do a SNT with Jason that will land the Hawks a shooting guard, etc. No, I don't know what team or player but I just have that feeling. After following the Hawks franchise for the past 25 years you just get a feel sometimes. Maybe I'm wrong, but if they were going to keep him they would have signed him by now.

Well you've hit the nail on the head! I preached last year that this was a BS organization especially after they didn't go after West to oversee the operations. They don't want to spend any money on this franchise and maybe car man does not have the cash to buy the team. It's really sad.......................................

last night. They were discussing that the Hawks were the worst franchise in professional sports. Smith did defend the Hawks a little and stated the Clipps were the worst franchise in sports. I agree with Stephen A. Smith but the Hawks are a terribly managed franchise, the fans in Atlanta are collegiate fans and really don't care about the NBA. To save this franchise the Hawks must get a very good team and not just good a entertaining team, o half fill Phillips arena. At the current pace the team is on the Hawks could possibly one day be moved to another city. If it hadn't been for Ted Turner a few years ago I believe the Hawks would be in New Orleans now. The new owner of the team must come in and spend BIG money to get exitement going in this town, if not the team is doomed!

I agree this is the worst franchise in the NBA! It has been decimated by Stan Kasten because he has his eye on the Braves, I've been preaching this for at least 10 years. Even when the Hawks were at their pinnacle with Nique battling the evil Bird and the Celtics did the Hawks sell the place out. Blame Pete all you want and he did not get the job done. Kasten was the president of the team. Ted just bought the team because they were gonna leave town, his heart was with the Braves. Phillips is a nice place to go see a game, but the team stinks and there apparently is no basketball people running the Hawks. Why didn't the Hawks give Jerry West the money and let him run the club? BECAUSE that idiot Kasten doesn't want anyone being in total control except himself. Enough ranting for the day.......................

Theo has value because you have to have a center to compete. We should not trade Theo unless we get a young big man from a team trying to win now and can't wait for a young player to develop. Finley is too old and these teams want to give us nothing for Theo. I say we keep him!

Play, The TO problem I am speaking of was before Dog. Reef would flash out past the foul line and try to take the defender one on one to the basket and would get the ball taken every time. I have also noticed that when he gets the ball in the post he has TO problems as well. He really needs to work on that part of his game, I like him because he is a good guy and doesn't cause problems. But defense is another area he needs to work on. I was surprised he came out in the paper aboutDog being traded although Dogs offensive game did take pressure off of Reef. Just my opinion

You can talk about the defects of Robinson' s game and they are well chronicled, but I must add that Shareef plays NO defense and is just as turnover prone as Big Dog. The problem with the Hawks without Big Dog that there is no player to get to the line and create mismatches on defense for the other team. The Hawks will be back to pre-Robinson days of a couple years ago that cannot score, period! Shareef is a decent player and I like him, but he's not a upper echelon PF. I really miss Dan Roundfield, now he was a power forward!!! Big Dog was a problem, but his ability to score the basketball will be sorely missed. Just my .02

I understand the size of this deal including two professional teams and rights to an arena, but this thing is taking a little too long. Correct me If I'm wrong but it didin't take this long for the Falcons sale to Blank. Hawks have to get it right this time. They need to clean house in the front office. Years ago when there was not an internet I would call the front office and talk a an employee there named Darren I believe and he was extremely rude and "Above me the fan." Stan Kasten has to be the first to get his sorry ass fired. Look at the mess he has let happen under him with the GM's and coaches. He has completely depleted this franchise. Billy Knigh is an unknown and I wouldn't necessarily have a problem with him or Terry Stotts staying on, this year is shot any way. I would love to see Fratello come back. Look at what Hubie has done in Memphis.
