  1. Take a look at RealGM. Thomas and Knicks execs have or are meeting with Bryant. NY has absolutely NO cap room.
  2. if the Knicks somehow are able to get Kobe then the league is definetly fixed, yes fixed. If Nike makes up the diference the Knicks can offer Kobe that is a sham! I really think the league does cater to NY and LA their two biggest markets and allows those teams more flexibilty than others. Bet it killed David Stern and all of the media that Detroit kicked their Hollywood asses!
  3. and Mike Woodson's idea of a player in Walker because he plays no D, now if it is true it could have been done for cap purposes. I believe it is bogus and just a rumor out there.
  4. You have to put a team on the floor that has championship possibilities to get the good free agents We have nothing to offer at this point with a total rebuild going on............heck we can't even keep Stephen Jackson
  5. Well let's watch and see and if after 4 years there is not the crowds in the stadium there will be trouble. Bottom line is attend a Hawks game and there are no where near the fans in the stands that is announced. The franchise cannot stand to lose this kind of money. I've been a Hawks fan since 1978 and in the Conference finals years we didn't sell out against the Celtics. Times have changed overall but the normal fan is not going to come to games to see the Hawks lose every night. Sorry, it ain't gonna work!
  6. Well using that theory why isn't BK sent packing, again makes no sense. Musselman was well liked and though he is a link from the past so is Nique. He would be a better choice than anyone mentioned of late. I don't think BK has the stature in the league to bring in a Mike Fratello. Hawks have to show commitment. A three year building plan is not what this team needs. We were counting on a high draft pick to bring in a new BIG name such as Dwight Howard and it didn't happen. We are right back in the situation before the draft and I really like the Joshes but they are not superstar ability players like Dwight Howard. You may disagree with me but I've said all along there is not a chance in a million Kobe will come to the Hawks. Now it appears even the second tier free agents aren't either. I just think BK has been given too much power.
  7. if we were going to hire someone like Woodson, Casey or Brown. Heck, Musselman should be the man in this case. I am solidly against Casey, Woodson, or Brown. If one of these coaches are hired you will not see a major free agent come to the Hawks because the signal is being sent we are not looking at being competitive for at least three years. Just doesn't sit well with me.
  8. we are not going to hire a name coach? Doesn't make sense to me.
  9. The long and athletic gifted team that Billy wants to put together kind of reminds me of the ealy 80s M'kee Bucks. Remember Sidney Moncrief, Paul Pressey, Elmore Smith. This was an exciting team that got up and down the floor and played very good defense. I agree give Billy time he has a plan.
  10. My father is a minister and we could go for hours on this subject. In my opinion the Media to include TV and print, goes to no end to criticize religion in any way possible. Why? We are now living in an American society that is quickly turning to Socialism. I suggest those who would want to keep our country free study what socialism is all about. We all have our beliefs and I'm glad to say "I am on the Lord's side"
  11. this idiot doesn't play 20 games a year. Pete Babcock wouldn't even take him off the Knicks hands. Hehehe.....opt out of his contract with Denver for a long term deal....hehehe. The Nuggs are probably laughing their arses off at Camby!
  12. we don't need any thugs like Rodman and Allen Iverson
  13. I would be against McLeod. He just can't get it done. His hiring would be a mistake not only coaching wise buit a huge PR mistake. It has to be Fratello
  14. sorry Diesel had to get you on that one. I've followed this leauge and the Hawks since the early and I mean early 80s. The leauge only gives a damn about teams located in NY, Chicago, Los Angeles, and probably Boston. Orlando somehow got lucky and the Clipps have been there so often that is their home...........the lottery. I criticized the unloading of players for cap space and I may have been wrong. Trades didn't work for Zeke in NY, although you have to remember the league will somehow help the NickerBockers out in the end. We need to resign Pryz and Sura. I would not keep Crawford if I could get rid of his contract, and Hendu definitely has not filled his end of the bargain. Hendu has been as well as Crawford on Hawk welfare the pst few years. I think we need a good solid Power Forward who will rebound and is active around the basket, I used to know every player in the league and their contracts but with my job these days I will leave that to you young guys. Also needed is a PG, Sura can do the job but he is needed to come off the bench and provide a spark. SJax if I could get him at the right price would also be resigned. Kobe or Kmart ain't coming to Atlanta and you can write that down. Sorry for the letdown but I'm as agravated as everyone although after 20 years I am not letting it get to me as bad.
  15. Guess this proves to Diesel the lottery ain't fixed
  16. Well I would disagree on both suran and jackson. Jackson showed as go to guy he could score on anyone in the league. Sura has to be resigned he can do it all off the bench. I'm not against the rookies but we need some veterans on the roster to provide a spark and leadership
  17. I think K-Mart is a role player. He is not a dominant player at the 4 spot. He has to get out and run. Pretty good player just not a star player. But I'm sure he is looking for Star money
  18. He is not a household name and fan favorite. He may be the other things but I don't see where you are getting the fan favorite stuff. I am for bringing in Fratello, look what Hubie has accomplished in Memphis, or course the GM of the year helped a little but Hubie is the teacher. Players have to repsect the coach and it it apparent Musselman did not get that done in Golden State. The Hawks need a experience successful veteran coach not a young one like Musssleman. Fratello should be the choice.
  19. I really will be disapointed if the Hawks hire someone like Alvin Gentry, Del Harris, etc The Hawks have to hire a NAME coach that can get the job done. Maybe I've got it wrong but I'm not interested in some worn out coach or one who gets hired because of the color of his skin. Alvin Gentry? Pleeze My choices: John Thompson Kenny Smith Mike Fratello
  20. I just find it very difficult to think that Kobe will come here. Yeah, it would be great but I think the chance is less than 10%. That being said, the Hawks need to find players that will work in the their system. I believe we need a togh rebounding power forward and a playmaker. I really like Bob Sura and I hope he is resigned. Teams that are successful have role players and I believe the new owners are interested in the type of team the old Milwaukee Bucks were with Paul Pressey, Sidney Moncrief and that bunch. The draft is coming...........
  21. Sounds like that is the reason Doc is not the Hawks choice or the Hawks are not Doc's choice. I would like to see Kenny Smith or Mike Fratello given a shot at the position.
  22. I figured Doc was number one of the coaching list for the Hawks. I know most on this board thought it was a done deal he was coming back to Atlanta. It would be interesting to know why he did'nt come back. Maybe he wasn't interested in the rebuilding process that it will take in this town, maybe the lack of fan support even when the Hawks were players in the Eastern Conference, who knows.
  23. I believe that if Kobe leaves it will be for Memphis. I think it is probably 70/30 if he will indeed leave.
