Hawks are definitely not one of those organizations that feels like they absolutely have to win every trade they make. Sometimes you gotta make a deal, even if it isn't necessarily a clear win.

Why does Siakam want to stay in Toronto? They literally have 2 months of warm weather. Rest of the year is chilli or freezing.

All things being equal, Id take KAT over Siakam. But KAT's contract is just too risky in my opinion.

Adding him could only help. He only has one year left on his deal so it's not a huge commitment. Im assuming LF is holding firm and not upping his offer.

KAT ain't coming here. We are probably in a stalemate with Toronto over Siakam .

Id be more comfortable giving JB a max than KAT. Having a defensive liability at center is brutal. It's one of those things you don't understand the gravity of until he's on your team. JB is pretty much solid across the board, although probably not quite as great a natural scorer as KAT.

KG was an absolute beast on defense.

We might not be a significantly better team with KAT. In the 8 seasons he's been in Minnesota, they have only had a winning record three times. In those three winning years they were a 1st round exit each time. Not putting all the team struggles on him. But he hasnt been able to elevate the wolves beyond mediocrity.

The whole reason they sold the farm for Gobert is because they though he could protect KAT. KAT is really bad on defense, one of the worst big men in the league in that regard.
