DJM 17-24. Dominant and efficient. Trae might want to take notes.

Official Game Thread: Hawks at Bucks (7 PM EST Tip)

Some fans act like being the "go-to guy" is a life time appointment like the supreme court. If JJ shows he has what it takes this year then he should be the guy. It's not about protecting Trae's feelings.- 484 replies

Exactly why Dame is finally where he needs to be, as a number two to a dominant big. I would recommend Trae follow a similar path. High volume 6ft foot guards are not the guys you want as your best player. Everyone knows that, but refuses to admit it out of pride.- 465 replies

I know most here still have faith in Trae to be our guy. For me that ship that has sailed. The organization should try to find a dominant big or wing so Trae can settle in as a number 2. Easier said than done of course. Don't think we will be anything more than a fridge playoff team with Trae as our best player.- 465 replies

Trae's poor shooting numbers are not merely a recent development. His numbers from last year aren't great.

Can our superstar hit half his of his shots as opposed to 1/3 if his shots. That's all I'm asking for.

I like Jalen Brunson's game better. Just steady and rock solid. Trae is too much sizzle not enough steak.- 465 replies

Can we get a superstar who doesn't need half a season to get warmed up? I know many bristle when Trae is criticized, but he has too many flaws to be a number 1. We need a dominant big or wing to build around, and Trae can settle in as a number 2, a role he's much better suited for.

Trae's biggest problem is that he misses too many shots. Im not sure how you can fix that.

Hawks aren't going fire Snyder. They are all in on him. If he can't fix Trae, then it's probably a lost cause.

The marketing thing is so overrated. Build a winner. Stop worrying about who is "marketable."- 465 replies

My non-Hawk teams are Sac and OKC. Like those squads.

I'm just trying to see where our growth is going to come from. JJ could be a game changer for us. If it's just more of my turn/your turn Trae and DJM, I'm not bullish on that as a winning formula.

Quin S. has his work cut out for him. This feels like a .500 team.

I love what Presti has done in OKC. What an exciting young team.

We have one hope for improvement, and that's emergence of Jalen Johnson.

I don't think they are taking discounts so the team can afford to max out some other guy. More likely they felt comfortable here, and told their agents not to play hard ball.

Not to be dismissive of your personal anecdote, but that's highly unlikely. At any rate, OO is not going to be an inch taller than he was last year.
-
Soth, once you stop growing, that's it. You dont stop growing for 5 years and then start growing again. Go look at photos of OO from high school. He was an early bloomer, not a late bloomer.
-
Who don't they just say he's 7ft?. If you're fudge the numbers, go all in on it. Say Trae is 6'4" while they are at it.
-
Um no. OO literally hasn't grown since like 10th grade. Look at his old pictures where he is towering over Lamelo Ball. That's not how growth works. Probably just how he was measured or a wink-wink PR move. Photographic evidence will show he is the same height as before. He will be noticeably slightly shorter than players who are actually 6'10".
