I can't possibly disagree more
Has being White helped Jokic being marketed? People who don't follow the NBA have no clue who he is despite being arguably the best player in the world. I'm going to say that again. He's white, he's the best player in the world. He doesn't even have his own shoe.

A white American superstar hasn't happened since Bird. Jokic and luka are foreign guys. Flagg is crazy athletic and a home grown white kid. He's the unicorn of unicorns for marketing and any team that drafts him.
I'm just saying being White does not help with marketing as an NBA player. There is no empirical evidence to suggest it does. If anything, it's a hindrance.

How are we getting Cooper Flagg? if he has the season we expect at Duke he's the no brainer unicorn #1 pick in 2025. A white American superstar in the draft? When's the last time that has been a real thing? Teams will be shooting their own players on the bench to tank for this kid.
We don't have our pick next season. We're not getting him unless we trade for him at that draft.
Not to go down the political/socio rabbit hole. But the notion that teams really want a White star for marketing just does not appear to true. Jokic is the best player in the world, and the average person has never even heard of him. He isnt really heavily marketed. What Madison Avenue really wants is another MJ or LeBron. Hard to argue with that, considering their success.

With SAS having our picks for the foreseeable future, we cant do a rebuild.

Not to beat a dead horse, but trading not one but two unprotected picks really put us in a tough spot. We should have insisted on some modest protections at the very least.

Kelly Olynyk gets a first. Why no love for Murray?Id be curious to know what the offers were.

No ****ing way.
Yea, that makes no sense. I don't think that's the trade.

Issac just started an "anti-woke" fashion brand..
Whatever the fk that is... smh
No way Ressler is trading for this guy imo...
"Yeah I remember listening to a podcast where they talked about how his teammates hate him. He's super religious and constantly trying to force his beliefs down their throats".
I think that would be less annoying than Draymond Green. Bullying teammates, and constantly complaining about everything and everyone.

A trade with the Pels is the only thing out there that makes any sense. I'm guessing they can't agree on draft compensation.

You think they should??? I wouldn't respect these clowns if I were an opposing GM. If I saw everything Tony has done to be cheap, I'd be full on trying to take advantage of this FO and would not remotely consider taking a fair trade from them. They literally look like jackasses.
We even hired another former GM to help them. It's a hot mess.

I feel stupid for being surprised that tex-mex food in Texas is so much better.
Is it weird that I have an underlying fear of keurig machines? Whenever they start up, I'm scared it's gonna explode hot coffee all over my game-blouse.
No, this is not off topic.
It's the Georgia Tech in you. You don't trust the engineering.

Time will tell. Sometimes the best move is not making a bad move. Assuming we do nothing more than shuffle the chairs on the deck, all I would be able to say is that Fields (like most GMs) wasn't able to negotiate a deal that was favorable for us and ended up sitting out the deadline rather than making a bad deal. That wouldn't be the wors thing in the world.
Yes, perhaps but it's also no coincidence that more notable GMs like Presti, Ainge and Stevens manage to get deals done.

I don't know why yall think N.O. is willing to trade in the first place. It's the echo chamber at work. They are like 3rd in the West. They are in no big hurry to break up their team.
The only person they may consider trading is Ingram because he asked... but they don't need to trade.
Diesel, a sensible, rational non-homer post. Is this the dawning of a new era of Diesel?

Does anyone know what's going to happen? No. I don't understand your point. All our conservation is opinion and conjecture.

My thought is why would WE trade OO and DJ if it weren’t for a big fish?
Woj says CJ is off the table.
Who else does Nola have that would make our FO want to move off of DJ and OO? There is no collection of role players that is worth that haul.
They aren't trading us Zion. Griff just trying fleece us.

Unless there's something else at play, I would have given the Kings pick for Fontecchio.

Shaq, one of the greatest marketing machines in NBA history, is a center. It's not about race, or position, it's about charisma.
