I heard he was off the table and almost all the Hawks players were at this point off the table at least until the offseason.
Why take guys off the table? We should be open for business. If you don't get an offer to your liking then so be it, but there's no need to take guys off the table.

I don't know where this "bad teammate" is coming from. It is blatantly false. The only thing it can be is another FO trying to lower his value by smearing his name.
Perhaps not bad teammate, but you did say he was not doing what QS was asking him to do on the court. He was also posting negative things about his role on social media. Not saying that means we should trade him, but that isn't nothing either.

You just said yesterday there could be something. Make up your melon folks don’t forget.
I said the character concerns may have some legitimately. I never said that would determine his trade value though.

Player's on court abilities, age and contract are what sets their value. Personality is a secondary consideration unless it's truly egregious.

Once again, don’t confuse passion with ill intentions
Yes but there is fine line there. At the very least, don't vent on social media about the team and/or coach. There's no defending that. It's immature and completely unnecessary. Keep that in house.

Some Bs blog fodder? Yeah come on man, that kinda tweeter stuff is what the tweet world is made of.
Fan fiction..
when are you people gonna learn.. fan fiction world and the Jake fish hers are a big fat nba2k fake game
no wonder stuff gets reposted from lame af hawks weak fans. We need front court defense and defensive depth and we talking about lame af nba2k rumors from realgm.
these the same Jake BS Fish Her rumor mill makings that says Mikal Bridges worth 10 FRP
its all the same at this point..
I wouldn't call openly defying the coach and posting negative things about his role on the team as BS fodder.

People been talking about DJ’s character since he was drafted. He has always had BS concerns about his upbringing. The same way they wanted give red flags to Ant Man. It just comes with territory when you are a confident young player who isn’t afraid to speak up for yourself.
Some concerns about him might be legit. But it's probably manageable.

Plus, we've given up 73 and 60 point games in the last week...yikes. We don't need to stand pat. We need to try and keep improving the roster.
I hope we make a play for defense by the deadline and and if Bey and Cap aren't in our plans after this season....get something for them.
Excellent post.

He gotta be taking some kind of performance enhancers if this is what he normally plays like. Sheesh. He looked like broke-knee Bogi from last year.
He had a torn Achilles. They say that's one of the worst, if not the worst injuries a basketball player can have.

Man why the refs didn't let Klay take his viagra before hitting the court? Was he point shavin' tonite?
I would think players would prefer not to get spontaneous erections in the middle of a game. Might be a little awkward,

Trae third on the team in assists tonight. Has that ever happened before?

Come on DJ, we needed that three.

Trades are also hard because the teams can't say the opposing players' names during trade discussions. They have to give a description to make sure the other GM knows which player they're discussing.
True story.
"You know the tall guy. Kinda slim. Dry skin. Funky looking shot. What do you want for him?"

It's a shame he went the "I'm going to openly defy my coach" route. Unprofessional and disappointing.

In interviews up until a week ago he was all about this team and performing the best he could for his teammates - at least that it was he was saying on the broadcasts.
He is not only hurting the Hawks with this, he is tarnishing his own (formerly) stellar reputation.
Klutch must be telling him a trade might not happen. No way he would be acting up if a trade was sure to take place.

FINALLY we got cooked by an actual star, and not some rando role player. That’s progress, right?Baby steps...

He's averaging 34.6 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game, and 9.2 assists game on 49.2% from the field and 38.1% from three. His win shares is 7th in the NBA, his VORP is 3rd in the NBA. Melo could only dream of having such a season.

He is more established now than when we traded for him. When we traded for him, he was coming off of seasons where he averaged 10.9 points on .524% TS%/ and 4.1 assists and 15.7 points on .509% TS% and 5.4 assists. His last two years in SA he shot 31.7% and 32.7% from 3pt range. He had one big season in his career and his contract was expiring in two seasons when he would be an UFA.
Whatever team ends up with him is getting him locked in on his contract for the prime seasons of his career at a lower than market rate (again check out what FVV makes by comparison) and he will be coming off 3 consecutive seasons of 20 / 5 / 5 play in which he set career highs for his TS% every season (and a career high on his 3pt% as well).
This is not a sell low guy. You have to get real value for him or loudly refuse to trade him. As loud as Klutch has been on the Lakers rumors, I would love for Fields to go on camera and say something like "we love Dejounte and there is no need to trade him. I can tell you that some of the rumors that have been printed are ridiculous and seem like they think we are a feeder franchise for other teams. That absolutely is not the case. As with anyone on our team, we'll only consider deals that improve our team's outlook moving forward."
Generally GM's don't respond to or publicly acknowledge trade rumors.

Not even getting a TPE, just a straight dump?
Taking a step back.....I just don't believe that's what this Owner/FO will do.......cause it just doesn't make any good NBA sense.
Yeah....so everybody calm down!
It's a total fire sale right now. Word is they are even offering Trae for an expiring and a conditional second. In fact a team offered multiple unprotected 1sts for Trae, but the Hawks said they could not accept such a deal in good conscience. We are like ascetic monks, practicing strict self denial as a way of life.

If don't get a good offer, we keep DJM. Try to retool in the off-season. It's not like we have to trade him.

Murray and Klutch are pushing to get to the Lakers. Teams have consistently low balled us. Personally I would pull him off the market if the best offer is 2029 Lakers pick, DLo flipped to a third team and that's pretty much it. Terrible return for Murray.
Either we get a solid offer or we keep him.

I’m starting to think the Griffin family is nuts. With AJ tweets about the rapture coming, Beyonce being a product of satan, and all the extreme proselytizing he does, one has to wonder what went on in their upbringing to make him believe and spout such hatred ignorance.
Had a promising rookie season. Now he's looking like a complete bust.
