  1. What's getting under your skin with Bibby? 25-13? Terrific Shooting? Playing his *ss off? How is Bibby, Woody's downfall? I'd think, if anything, Bibby is helping Woody's situation.

Woody is so in love with Bibby's recent good play that he has totally discarded Acie Law’s upside. ASG will not bring Bibbs back and the team will once again suck but Woody doesn’t care because he has excuse in pocket.

  2. Nobody will offer old & brittle Bibby close to max money, but remember Bibby is unrestricted. We can't Josh him.

Portland lost much of their cap $ to Miles. Thank the Grizzlies again. They are doing everything to help us after outsmarting us in the 2000 blockbuster(Gasol for Rahim).

It was a fun interview. We can't survive without Bibby unless Acie becomes Stuckey, which he has every tool to become. What would Woody do without an offensive co-ordinator running the PG position?

hey I said the Wizards would be brain dead to re-sign Gibert. So lets not give these NBA GMs too much credit.

  3. I seriously doubt that, and any way, it has nothing to do with what a player wants......as we saw with Smith last off season. Its what the market says your worth. I seriously doubt any one offers Bibby, at 31, a NEAR max deal. That is for perennial allstars in their prime. Not a solid starter who has never been an allstar. This is especially true since in 2010 there will be plenty of max worthy players. Why offer Bibby the max when in a year you can throw the max at Kobe, Lebron, Wade, Bosh, Yao, Dirk, JJ, etc.

I could see Portland throwing some money at him. They are the only team I see giving Bibby as much as $10 mill per. (But they just burned a top 6 pick on a PG / Bayless and have Blake who is a poor man's Bibby) .The Pistons just re-upped Rip Hamilton and LOVE Stuckey, for good reason. I see them focusing on replacing Rasheed for their front line. I think Dumars, the best perimeter defender of his era, values perimeter defense too much to get in a bidding war for Bibby.

The market will no doubt set the price, not the Hawks. The Hawks will wisely not bid against themselves. It will be a waiting game just like with Josh Smith. When the market sets the price the Hawks will react. Same with Marvin, ZaZa, and Flip.

hey it's all on the ASG now. Let's hope they're wanting to play big-boy ball now that the team is winning.

  4. So you would basically kick Bibby to the curb and put all your apples in the Acie Law bag ?

I like Law alot but to say he clearly ready to be star.............I hope your being sarcastic. Playing 9 minutes a game with scrubs on the floor with you makes it difficult to gage what we truely have. That is my main gripe with Woodson.

I rememeber what this team looked like before Bibby got here.....do you ? We were a 10 game under .500 team.

Rememeber Bibby is making over $15 mill this year. A front loaded contract that starts at $9 or $11 mill is still giving you $4 to $6 mill in cap savings next season. Then year 2 of Bibby's contract, (the time you re-up JJ), Bibby's contract would be down to $8 or $10 mill.....thats $5 to $7 mill in cap savings.

By the time we have to resign Horford in 2012, Bibby's contract would be in year 3 and down to $7 to $9 mill.

Do you really want to enter next season with:

    Law 24

    JJ 28

    Marvin 23

    Smith 23

    Horford 23

    That is scary young !

We all know Bibby wants a max-deal. I wouldn't even waste the man's time. Tell him thanks for 1 1/2 years of good ball then let him do his thing for a team with $$$ and a realistic chance of winning it all. Hawks will probably sign a veteran PG while gradually putting more load on Acie.

Whether we like it or not Acie Law is the future!

  5. Ok night vs the Bulls. Too many 3s on Bibby's part but as long as the team keeps winning I'm ok. Bibbs was 12-21 and 1/2 of his shots attempted were 3-balls. Good night but this team will only get far if he and Joe put more effort into getting to the line.

I have to give props to our dumb coach for recognizing the Bulls weaknesses. A season sweep in any sport is a coaching feat that should be recognized.

  6. I remember having a real a-hole boss a while back. I would feel physically different whenever the dude came around. My hands would get sweaty and my breathing pattern would change. I just did not like this guy and it severely affected my job performance. Say the player in question is experiencing the same thing.

  7. Uh, no. Do you think Flip is the answer at backup PG? Because if you do that you obviously don't have lofty expectations. Fact is he's a terrible PG and we might as well give him a shot.

Did I say that? And, how could we possibly know? The only thing we do know is that Flip is a terrible PG and we have a young guy who is never given a chance. I'd like to at least see what we have.

The worst was when Acie played great in Boston against Rondo when given a chance and had like 11 points and a few assists in limited minutes on 100% shooting then didn't even play the rest of the series. Even the announcers were commenting on how he was a much better matchup for Rondo.

Please stop it with all these sensible posts. You're really starting to scare me man!

  8. Actually it is not a misspelling

    Thesaurus Legend: Adj. scarey - provoking fear terror;

    Synonyms: chilling, scary, shuddery, shivery

Related Words: alarming - frightening because of an awareness of danger

It is the English spelling (not American Spelling) and being from Canada, that is how I learned how to spell it.

I think 'scary' is right. But it's really not a big deal since I've seen it spelled both way often.

  9. Sure, let's just keep playing Flip at PG even though he can't distribute at all, shoots about 40% and constantly makes dumb turnovers. Let's not give Acie a longer leash and a chance to improve. If Flip was playing well at PG I would agree with you, but when he's not a good PG and we have a young guy who hasn't been given a legitimate chance I just can't support that.

I'm not saying Acie will succeed, but we should at least see what we have with him considering we desperately need the PG help when Bibby isn't playing.

damn you make a ton of sense. Sure you're on the right mb?

  10. I hope your joking. so you seem to be blaming Bibby and not Woodson. Bibby has been a big part of our success and you know that. Im not one to point the finger but to me the Hawks are a quality big away from being an elite team. I dont think we can be that much better than our record with this roster. plus we've been hit with some injuries early on this season.

we will most likely end up being the 4th or 6th seed and play the Pistons in the playoffs and have a decent shot at winning that series. but dont expect 2 go no further than that.if we do, i will be very glad.

i love this team and its progess..we just gotta keep getting better every year with our nucleus and i will be happy. I do wish Sund was a more aggresive GM and looked to bring in another big body but hey, we're 4th in the East and 7 games over .500....we came a long way lol

Did you see Joe yesterday? Joe was actually driving the ball and trying to get to the line. I have not checked the stat but I bet our backcout is near the bottom of the list for free throws attempted. Bibby has to be more of a floor general out there. Instead of teeing guys up for cheap 3s drive the freakin ball and get points off of free throws.

  11. Hey I too think this team takes too many threes but what can Woody do when his point guard has been leading the fight against him all year.

Q: Who leads this team in assists?

    A: Not the point guard.

We love to bang on Woody but most of the issues with the Hawks stem from stubborn veteran players with selfish personal agendas.

Q: Why is it the Hawks are a more aggressive team when Acie is on the floor?

A: Because Mike Bibby is not on the floor.

The NBA is a player’s league. You get the right players in here and watch how effective coach Woodson can be.

  12. No one mentioned Smith's offense.

His lack of rebounding and shot blocking is really being felt in the frontcourt with Horford out. I applaud him for his offensive aggressivness in the paint but that does not stop the Magic from having a 40 point 1st quarter against us. You CANNOT win if you give up 40 first quarter points.

Team defense has been our problem the last few games and that is where the focus should be right now to "right the ship."

I would rather have Josh playing good defense. I'm sure he'll be the old Josh once he's back 100% healthy.
