If he takes the Murray approach, he will be just fine. He has to play the long game and really learn from Trae and DJ. His ceiling is murray, his floor is Delon Wright.

What is the best thing each of the 3 rookies have shown in Summer League.
Just list the positives, not the negatives.
Mo Gee’s lateral quickness, quick second jump, and jump shot.
Bufkin can get his own shot.
Seth can shoot and defend.

Gang, I just got back from Vegas. I had a chance to see the team up close and personal. I am telling you, these rooks are the real deal. Bufkin is no point guard ‘“yet” but he is a bona fide bucket getter and he is not as small as you think. Speaking of size, NBA players are large human beings. You don’t really understand by watching tv or even far away at a game, but standing right next them makes you feel like your planet is being invaded by aliens. Lol. Seth Lundy is a legit 6’6” and he is bigger than AJ. MoGee passes the eye test. His size and fluidity is ridiculous.
I like the diversity of Quin’s coaching staff. You can tell they are going to push each other and bring respect and a family type vibe.- 7

I want three things added this offseason. Length, veteran leadership, and scrappy hustle defense. Don’t care if it comes in one or three packages.

Bol Bol is out there for a reason, bro. I know, I know. We had high hopes for 'im. But .... I'm saving up for Mandarin lessons and I suggest you do the same.

JiéshùleI just think people don’t understand how easy the game comes to him and want to put him in a center box and have this crazy high motor all the time. He is ahead of his time but watch Wemby reap the benefits of the Bol Bol dues. Lol.

Wanting KAT bad is an over statement. Wanting KAT all things considered is reasonable. The thing that makes KAT palatable on this team is Okungwu. He does everything KAT can’t do defensively and can guard the best 4 or 5 on the other team. KAT can focus on protecting the rim or play the help defense role. KAT of course compliments OO17 offensively as he can do everything OO17 can’t at a high level. He also compliments Trae and DJ very well as a bonafide pick and pop or roll threat. He can also spread the floor so both Trae and DJ can get down hill. My only concern about KAT is his insane supermax contract that kicks in next year. He will be paid like he is the best player on a championship team but hasn’t proved he can lead a team to the playoffs consistently let alone contend. That is where Trae comes in. He will be the Alpha dog that can get a team with KAT on it over the top.- 4

Landry's interview today about our young guys was eye opening. He pretty much acknowledged moving them for more playing time on another team is better for them and for us.
Translation: prepare for a trade

Is there not a point where there simply isn’t much difference between $180-200 million and ~$250 million? What is the marginal utility? Don’t emotional and social quality of life have significant value? Unless you are creating a substantial nonprofit, it would seem the additional wealth would have diminishing value. Maybe I’m just ignorant…maybe both…
Good point. I think at some point, it becomes about ownership opportunities vs how much luxury you can afford.

Naz, Stewart, and Poeltl have all gotten between $14m-$20m AAV over 3-4 years ...
What does an extension for OO look like?
It will probably be similar to Dre’s contract since he was drafted two slots below Dre and factoring in inflation.

Interesting. This is so mind boggling.

Did Dre really delete all of his Hawks content on IG and leave up a post of Ciao?

Team KAT. I'm more about roster fit. KAT will not hurt our defensive ranking from last year and I think Quinn would get some improvement there. With the offense we will have we'd only have to be top 15 defensively to make a run. Just getting Siakim will cause roster construction problems which I can not over look. I prefer KAT.
This!
I don’t disagree, but what about those 50 million buckaroos next year. Lol.

This feels like a Hawks-Knicks Murray last ditch smokescreen. As for the KAT fans, if ya'll got more smoke out there to show us lemme know cause I ain't seeing nothing except for this:
So I'm confused ya'll tooting your horns about KAT
He hasn’t spoken to his agent yet. Lol.

Got an update:
Siakam and KAT are the main two targets. Team would rather have Siakam because his defense is better than KAT's (I love KAT and can't argue this). It sounds like Toronto is willing to accept a more fair deal for him. It also sounds like Siakam is willing to stay in Atlanta. Hunter would be the main piece we send to Toronto.
One source said "it might be getting spicy soon in the ATL" so take that FWIW.
Alright let’s declare our allegiance now. Team KAT stand up. Team Siakim show yourselves. Lol.
I am on the KAT train. Toot toot.

Fans can squash that..
SL is no indication of what AJ will do for this team in the regular season. They were experimenting with him on the ball and not his typical movement off the ball. Also, when he was off the ball, Bufkin could not run the offense. Also, the summer youngins that try to make their teams often play with reckless abandon. I would rather AJ not play that way and get hurt like Scoot Henderson and Amen Thompson.

Patty Mills. If we keep him, he is the veteran presence we need on a deep run.

With KAT this is really about a game of chicken. If Minny decides to roll the dice and go into the season with KAT, and they are still a middling team, it will be virtually impossible to trade him at the deadline to any other team including the Hawks. Nobody is going to want to take that contract on for a guy that can’t lead his team to the playoffs let alone a championship. Edwards, Mcdaniels, and Gobert are the core of the team now and they need to focus on rebuilding around that while they can. On the other hand, we would be rolling the dice on KAT getting us over the hump this year. If I am Minny, I am moving on now.
