Snell had better impact when he was younger.

Baze had his worst prime years with Trae

    So did Prince.

I won't mention the scrubs because they were washed.

Kevin had his best year with Sacramento

Cam had has best year with New York.

Murray had his best year last year with SA

I am waiting for Trae to make players around him better. Al did it every season.

Embiid is the ONLY player who got worse with Al. Just him. Everyone else got better. Nash can make the same claim, he made everyone around him better.

Trae’s team with those players on it had better team success with Trae period. There is no debate. And as a side note Cam had his best game on the biggest stage ever playing with guess who, Trae Young.

Ressler didn't want to pay the LT and greenlighted this trade.

My time for hoping that the words of an owner or GM is true is over.

Woj did say that Landry has the green light to spend. Camp and Soth have said from the beginning that the team would spend if it could land Embiid, Towns, Brown, and I will add Siakim.  They are now positioned to do that. It might not happen until the trade deadline though.  Minnesota is the team to watch.

You guys just don't get it.

This was a salary DUMP.  That is all.   They are not going to use all of the TPE and put them back in the LT...

If anything more salaries will be dropped.

How are we supposed to extend OO and DJM and Bey?

Maybe we get some relief with the timing of Bogi's contract.   But with JJ and AJ to come the long game says that we will be moving more salary either this year or next.

I expect we will trade for a cheap contract.  If not a Rookie or First Year, then somebody who has 1 more year on their deal making under 7.3 Million.

Orlando traded for Jarace Walker.  You ought to hope that a first and 2 2nds can get us Franz M.

Unfortunately , I think you have the most realistic view of this. However, I am holding out hope that we swing for the fences.

It's funny how Nate haters can point to our poor passing numbers of last year but the year before, we had great passing numbers, but couldn't get stops so we were always playing in a half-court situation.

I don't know what else you guys who praise Trae want. I really don't.

Because it would be pointless, we have had Trae here for years. Some of our best offensive seasons have been recently with Trae. Our passing metrics was some of the best in the NBA for the RS. A shit playoff against Miami and everyone is crying to a secondary ball handler, we get one who can get stops on D and now we are crying because we can't make shots because we traded one of the best short movement wings in the NBA for peanuts because his minutes were going to be cut due to Murray. I don't know what you Trae stans want.

You always have a lot of feel good shit to say but none of it makes sense to people like me who understand the game.

You can't get much better players who are better than Trae to put around Trae and pay Trae the max and think it's going to work. That's not how the NBA works. Everyone is dealing with a limited budget and roster. This is on Trae, he can't be a max cat and not delivering. You are the king of feel good Trae posts but I am here to tell you, it's bullshit. It's always been bullshit. It will always be bullshit until Trae fixes his flaws.

Before you say I am a hater. Trae is my favorite player on the squad.

    1. Trae

    2. OO

    3. Dre

    4. Clint

    5. A.J.

    6. JC

    7. Bogi

    8. JJ

    9. Bruno

The only reason it seems like I go off on him is because of the delusion of his fans on this site. On RealGM, I never speak negatively of Trae because most of them are Trae haters. So I am usually defending him but you guys on here are so f***ing delusional when it comes to Trae. The amount of bullshit you say it outstanding when Trae is mentioned.

But wait, Steph Curry got two max players after he got his max money.  Trae fan and Hawks fan. Deal with it.

For someone with only 4 years of playing basketball it is just short of amazing to see what he could do on the court. His footwork and ball handling are very good. He has good athletic ability. He likes to set screens and roll to the basket. He has a wonderful soft touch on his shooting.

He will probably spend all year in the G league and that's not a bad thing. He is raw but he has real skills. I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a Hawks 2nd round pick.

He actually knows how to play the game too. He has little subtleties to his game that vets usually have. Pump fakes, not rushing a move, setting up his moves with jab steps and knowing when to do all of that.

    You're not wrong.

W.r.t. the team USA stuff, iirc, he turned down their invitation to be a last-a** minute injury replacement last time ... as did many others.

And there seemed to be a thinly-veiled threat to skip over the players that denied them going forward.

Several players publicly pulled out, I remember Fox (SAC) in particular, doing so and making waves because it was last minute.  It was after these public pull-outs that the reports say they privately reached out to Trae.  Then he privately, allegedly, denied their invitation.  Somebody correct me if I'm wrong here.

Long story long, (a) this slight may not be Trae-specific but (b) it's only the world cup, which isn't a premier event (from the US perspective), so the top players usually don't seem to care about this one.  I imagine Trae's not losing sleep over this.

Good insight. As long as they pony up when it is time to.

I figure his defense will take some work but his offense ... for a guy with little experience... is great!  He has a lot of potential.   This was a fine steal by Landry and Co...

He reminds me of a taller Siakim. And not a poor man version either.

Why is it that everytime we mention what's needed for our success, the onus is always on Trae to do something to improve?  In the History of Basketball, when hasn't 27/10 been enough.  You make it seem as though we have studs surrounding Trae and Trae has to bring his game up.   Why not talk about what our sorry cast of Forwards need to do to make our team better??  I am so tired of Hunter getting a pass because he's the right size.   It's Marvin Williams all over again.   JC needs to play at a higher level too.  Even if we're playing him wrong, he has to show that he can be dominant in the wrong way that we're playing him.  AND  If DJ can't wratched up the defense then we may as well play Bogi.   At least Bogi will hit some shots.

Can’t bump this enough. We already know Trae can take his already awesome game to another level as the stakes get higher. Other mofos on the team got to step up their efficiency to get us over the hump. Hunter is the only player on this roster that should have a lot of room to go on his ceiling and that is mostly from a defensive perspective. If he can be the defensive stud we all thought he could be, we would be championship contenders. Until then…

Staff is official: Bryan Bailey, Mike Brey, Brittni Donaldson, Steve Klei, Igor Kokoskov, Antonio Lang, Sanjay Lumpkin, Ekpe Udoh, and Jeff Watkinson are assistant coaches.  Reggis Onwukamuche as a player development coach and Bryan George as video coordinator/player development.

Wow. Completely new staff. Very diverse. I can sense a lot of new energy and excitement is coming to the team. Everyone will have to show and prove.

Ok well, better question is who on here picked Denver to come out of the West, let alone win the whole thing?

Nobody is denying their talent, hell, we have talent. A lot of teams have a lot of talent.

Fact is, their roster looks a whole lot better after getting it done than it did before hand.

They had an MVP and got bounced early. Until they proved themselves Jokic was just the voter’s champ, now he can say he is a real champion.

I gotta say I had them pegged all along if their roster was healthy. Love the way they play and once I saw the Joker locked in, I was convinced. Murray is the real deal.
