  1. There are a lot of "if" scenarios for me with this question.

"If" we can get back some solid defensive players (specifically on the interior) around Trae by ridding ourselves of guys like DJM and CC, then I'd vote DJM.  That's my first option.

"If" we can't and we want to go full nuke with the team, I'd be ok getting a bunch of assets for what we can for Trae and whoever else and rebuilding around a guy like DJM as our vet.  I like his attitude and what he could bring with some young guys, even if we aren't winning.  He really needs to develop the ability to get to the line, that's my only gripe.

At the end of the day though, I don't think keeping both is the solution.  Both guys operate better with the ball in their hands and it isn't a fit that can be coached into either player.

At some point, ya'll just gotta except I am generally always right. Even when I am wrong, I am likely right around the corner.

Man, the Hawks should hire you as GM or coach since you’re never wrong and essentially perfect at basketball decisions. Did you mention this to your sources?

  3. Yeah I’ve come to accept Hunter as a net neutral when he is playing at his best. It’s like he doesn’t know how to have a complete game.

I recall maybe one or two times when I thought man, he scored, rebounded, and played solid defense this game!  Otherwise he is only doing one, maybe two of those things and it’s at a capacity that has a marginal impact on winning if any.

I think part of the problem is also that Harden has operated without a full time agent for most of his career. He hired one earlier this year in Jan/Feb - didn't have a full time agent since 2017. He's just used a part time agent to negotiate upcoming contracts.

Didn't put in the investment and now he's paying for it.  Literally.

  6. I know we are in an era where players are moving around a lot more but in a fight or flight sense, I've never seen someone so quick to bolt from a situation.

Given the amount of big time games he has disappeared in and the amount of times he has wanted to flee a team because the wind has shifted is concerning.  He really needs some perspective because if he's going to demand certain things then he needs to show he is capable of sucking up the hard times too and he hasn't shown that.

I hope Philly continues to play hard ball and make him stay.  Keep him on the "no fly" list.  He needs it if he is going to grow at all as a player from a mental standpoint.  Or he'll just throw an adult tantrum, we shall see.

  7. Rebounding to me is a key metric for anyone that plays the 3-5 just to get a gauge for how active they are on both ends of the court.

I don’t need anything gaudy but I’d really love to see those numbers improve above all else. Rebounding like defense, comes from effort and I need to see more effort.

I'll be rooting for the Hawks next year but second on my list is rooting for the Raptors trade market to run dry and they handcuff themselves and have to shell out to retain some folks or get nothing.

Most likely 99 percent of the current Hawks don't like playing with him but are not gonna come out publically and say it.  You see where that got two head coaches and a GM didn't you? Most of his CURRENT teammates don't wanna play with him.  Folks keep trying to ignore and reinvent history with Trae as if we done forgot whats really going on with the Hawks:

Trae Young's feud with coach Nate McMillan could continue to escalate. However, it seems like Atlanta Hawks players may not be on his teammate's side this time.

Head Coach Nate McMillan And Some Of Hawks Players Don't Like Trae Young

Earlier, it was reported that Young and coach Nate McMillan appeared to have a falling out amid what has been a rather up-and-down season for the Hawks, and a recent update adds some unnamed players in the mix.

Super speculative articles here. Did Trae have some growing pains and maturity issues to work through?  Sure, just like a lot of young guys but I’ve heard a lot more positives directly from his teammates’ mouths and Dejounte put his money where his mouth is so those actions speak louder than these words do to me.
