  1. put your win total in the subject line and any explanations in the body of the post. good luck this year!
  2. Quote: The fans are going to be the ones that are desperate to sign anyone next year, but I wouldn't bet on Billy to overspend. well this turned out to be pretty funny.
  3. Quote: Trading Childress, Al, Delk for Nene and Andre Miller funny because this deal is HORRIBLE for us too.
  4. Quote: there is no way i would even waste my time on such a trade... agreed.
  5. Quote: We can get pretty much all of those players cheaper than $5 million per year, IMO. Jay Will is a huge injury risk - no one is going to pay $5 million per year for him. The Cavs are near cutting Wagner and Diop and probably would have traded them for a second rounder just to clear cap room (and they are being paid less than $5 million per now). Skita probably will get less than $5 million per. Brown is the only one who is likely (pretty much guaranteed in his case) to get $5 million per year, IMO. skita will get way less than 5mill. he might get 5 mill total.
  6. Quote: His stats are lower across the board without kidd, period. barely but you ignore other factors - like teh fact that we are deep and many guys get 20 or so mpg...or more. Quote: You want to tell me that Kmart wasn't paid based on the stats he had playing with kidd? ONLY based on playing with kidd? Quote: He's paid like a 20/10 guy. But he's not a 20/10 guy. He doesn't have the talent for that. That's not a knock on him, it's just a fact. he does more than what the stats say...a lot more.
  7. Quote: He's not a SF in game, he doesn't have the ability to put it on the floor or the quickness to go with that style. He also doesn't have the offensive game of a traditional PF. He's a weird tweener. I like that he works hard and plays defense. But I just don't think he is enough of a PF for my liking. The team we're building now, when it gets to a point of moderate success and is ready to make it's 3-4 year run at contention, will still have to match up with guys like Duncan, KG, Stoudamire, etc. K-mart doesn't have the height or bulk to match up against those guys. And you have to be realistic in thinking that any grab at the title is going to run you up against one or more of those guys. I don't think K-mart has proven he is on the level of the premier PF's in the game. Granted, you can't have a premier quality guy at every position. But I'd rather look elsewhere. Also, I forgot to mention, K-mart make WAY too much money for his pay scale. He got paid based on stats playing with Kidd. Well, there is only one Kidd and he's not in Denver OR atlanta. funny - those stats WITHOUT kidd are just about the same. and denver is winning (in the west), while the nets are not winning as much (in the east). did kmart have anything to do with that? oh yes.
  8. Quote: Yeah but for the kind of money Kenyon Martin is making I want more than 19/9/2. Even those numbers are kind of inflated, because he seems to be more of a 17/7/2 guy. Martin is a good help defender, but I have yet to see anything great about his one-on-one defense. Overall that is just too much to give for Martin. Heck I would rather have Walker over him. kmart brings more to the table than what you see in box scores. his value to a team goes far beyond that.
  9. Quote: OK.. let's say we don't get the Laker's pick. During FAcy... Would you consider this trade: Harrington/Diaw/1st from Boston to Denver for Kmart. It turns out that Denver is not so Happy with Kmart. They spent a lot for him and are not getting it back.. Moreover, Kmart is not a George Karl type PF. BUT.... We give them Harrington/Diaw a first and a ton of Capspace for Kmart. What I see is that Kmart is a good defender. A Decent rebounder. A guy who can run the break and finish. A definite PF. oh diesal, diesal, diesal...still up to making horrible trade ideas? man, things never change (has one ever come close to happening?). you dont even bother to look up info do you? denver IS happy with kmart. karl loves him...we are NOT going to trade him for crap. im pretty sure kiki is NOT a hawks fan. i might have to check on that though. hes a great player. hes a nugget. both teams offered him near the max...he chose us. hes not going anywhere.
  10. Quote: If we get Damp. Damp/JT to NJ for Jason Kidd/Collins. diesel - do you ever think about these deals before posting them? 99% of the time they are far in favor of the hawks and now this time, the trade is impossible anyways. you cannot sign and trade another teams free agent.
  11. Quote: I seriously doubt Diaw/future 1st would pry Nene away. bingo. Quote: Well the pipe dream may become reality when NENE hits FAcy... enjoy the wait...and he'll be restricted. so he wont be going anywhere. you dont really think these "dream plans" out very much, do you? Quote: DEN MIGHT give us Nene/filler for one of the Joshes or Diaw and AH but I can't imagine them giving him up for anything else. Heck, they wouldn't even give up Nene to land K-Mart! Nene is a big, young, strong, athletic, aggressive big man who hasn't even come close to reaching his potential yet. It will take a LOT to get him. Kiki might die of laughter of Billy offered Diaw straight up. Teams like Dallas, Phoenix and Memphis would give up a LOT more than that for Nene. nice post.
  12. Quote: Nene is very unhappy with the acquisition of Martin. I would give then Diaw/#1 2007 (Phi) for Nene. That would be a great deal for us. Nene' is a real PF/C type. If we got Damp... classic diesel - makes up stuff to justify his horribly unfair and biased trades. nene is EXTREMELY happy we got kmart. so much so, in fact that he cut his vacation short to come back and start working out in denver. get your facts straight. as for your deal, that is one pathetic trade that has no chance. NONE. not even close. Quote: Skitta hasn't shown nothing. He's practically been a bust since coming in the league. One good summer league doesn't make him a player yet... IF they like him so, they won't mind giving up Nene... again its DIAW...not exactly an all star here. ask for nene and kiki hangs up the phone in 1/2 a second.
  13. Quote: I didn't realize we had the nuggets' GM in the house. How nice to have you in here sir. cute but doesnt change the fact that i was right. Quote: I think that I read on some Nuggets boards recently that a good perimeter defender is your biggest need. If so then Diaw is a good fit. He has great athleticism and long arms to defend ourside and inside. He is a very good shot blocker. He also plays very aggressively on D though he is very very passive on the O side (which is not a huge need for the Nuggets IMO). This deal might work for both teams. I have read where Skita has bulked up to around 245 lbs and is 7'1". Is he as soft in the paint as others have said? we do need perimeter D and skita is defintely an outside player. poor mans keith van horn i would say. hes no dirk. Quote: I just love Diaws game. It would take someone better than sitka for me. For nene I would defnitley do it. damn thats funny. diaw is better than skita now...but skita has the higher potential. it depends on what the teams need and if they are willing to wait.
  14. Quote: I think if BK holds out, he may be able to talk them into a Hansen for Skita trade LOL! dont even bother. Quote: if we give them boris for skita, we better get back at least a pick or something to make up for the 2mil in cap space again...lol. you would be giving up DIAW. not iverson or vince carter here.
  15. Quote: Yep, with our glut of 2/3 type players this would be a low risk/high reward type deal we should make. Skita would get the PT to see if he is a ready for prime time player at the 4 spot. If he fails then we lose little. If he becomes a player then we really win big in this deal. oddly enough that might be the same reasoning for denver. with kmart on board, skita now becomes our 3rd stringer at best...whereas we need a sg/sf swingman type player. if the deal went through and diaw helped us out, we come out big time on our end. something for nothing. maybe a win-win for both teams?
  16. Quote: So what do you propose? I think a sign and trade for Sura would fit the Nuggets well. Sura showed last year that he can put up solid numbers when starting consistantly. I also think he would take some pressure off your two point guards with his good ball handling ability. I think a starting lineup of Miller, Sura, Melo, KMart and Camby is pretty solid. Skita is not going to get the PT he needs to improve in Denver and he will likely never resign with Denver when he rookie contract expires. Thoughts? dont get me wrong i like sura and he could be a nice fit as our back up sg, however, i dont see why we should trade skita for him when there are many other SGs as good as sura we could just sign. plus skita is playing great in summer leagues so far...hopefully he played well tonight too.
  17. Quote: I think Denver probably wants first round draft picks since they gave 3 future draft picks to new jersey. howver i wouldn't give that up for him. Maybe Hansen and a second rounder. or maybe not...lol.
  18. Quote: It wouldn't bother me as long as too much is not giving up in return. A late first rounder or two second rounders are about as far as I would go. key point to trades: BOTH TEAMS have to have a reason to do the deal.
  19. Quote: Yeah how are they able to give him a singing Bonus? What's going to happen is when Nene becomes a free agent they aren't going to have enough money to sign him. Hopefully the hawks can swoop in and sign the big Guy. dont count on it. hes signed for at least a few more years...
  20. Quote: Quote: I can't beleive that DEN is willing to not only offer K-Mart the max, but to offer him between $20M and $30M up front when they already have a terrific young PF in Nene and a big hole at SG. Voshon Lenard is decent but I think Q Rich, Ginobili or Jamaal Crawford would have been a better fit and they could have been had for a LOT less money. That is very surprising. I've read reports that they are actually considering starting Melo at SG, KMart at SF, Nene at PF and Camby at center. Melo is athletic enough to play the 2 so it could work. I hope it fails though and we somehow can pull off a Joe Johnson for Nene trade. dont count on it.
  21. Quote: IMO, their faith in Carmelo Anthony's ability to be a superstar player is misguided. I like Anthony overall, but I feel he's a younger version of Glenn Robinson who at times last season, showed the Glenn Robinson attitude that I hoped he wouldn't have. What you have in Carmelo is a guy who isn't a great ball handler, isn't a great perimeter shooter, and doesn't defend at all. glenn robinson? lol. watch melo play a little more.
  22. Quote: Kiki is conservative with the money he is? wtf?
  23. Quote: done deal. I may be wrong but I have a feeling that DEN is balking at paying K-Mart the max and that has become a sticking point. Word is that DEN wants to do a sign and trade to prevent NJ from being able to just match an offer sheet but I think it is more than that. I think Kiki is looking at the big picture realizing that he needs an upgrade at SG but if he signs K-Mart to a max deal, he won't have room to upgrade the position now or in the near future. Remember, he is going to have to pay Nene and Carmelo at some point. I think Kiki wants to sign K-Mart to a deal slightly bigger than what Boozer got (maybe 6 yrs/$75M) but K-Mart wants the whole $85M or so he could get. I won't be surprised to hear in the next day or so that K-Mart is seriously considering signing with the Hawks in an effort to get DEN to offer the whole max. They may or may not do it. If they don't, K-Mart may end up here after all. I don't think his pride will let him accept less than the max in DEN if we are truly offering the max. nice theory but wrong.
  24. Quote: I hear all this bullshit being spouted that says Atlanta isn't an attractive place for a free agent to sign, but there are no reasons for stating this. What makes Denver more attractive than Atlanta? arena, team/winning, city, fans, GM, owner, players, talent, future, cash, etc...
  25. Quote: Well look at Denver's roster now, good mix of veterans and youth that are winning and Denver isn't the best place to play. Once they shipped of McDyess they got better. This league is ruled by the cap and there are only so many dollars to go around. As players come off their rookie contracts they have to make tough decisions. The fact is many promising restricted free agent rookie contracts are coming up and the Hawks are in a position to cash in. Plus once ownership is complete we will have a new face to the franchise, hello Nique, and a brand new facility to play in. If you are a young guy that is talented and wants to put a stamp on a franchise this is the place. Denver, Cleveland and Atlanta. These are the teams of the future. I might also add Miami to this list. The teams swimming in Mediocrity now will be toast in the future. atlanta isnt a team of the future yet. not even close. you have nothing right now. the thing is we got nene AND camby for dice, then drafted melo and got dre in FA. itll be tough for the hawks to match that.
