But Sarr is 19 years old, and he might still be growing like how Giannis was when it first came out. Yeah, this is some major league trolling.

Hawks aren't trading the pick.
You really really think a franchise with it's first #1 is trading it?
No front office is making that gamble mistake.. ya'll playing 2k in your minds
Then again, nobody through in their right mind that the Falcons will draft a QB with the 8th pick while sending over 180 million for a F/A QB.
Never say never when it comes down to decisions like that.

I wish we can trade the pick but that will be crazy but what are we going to do with the rest of the Center room?

So in a draft that there is no superstar and consider to be one of the weakest draft and we get #1? Yea, that is so the Hawks.

We have fans who would get a case of priapism if we traded OO and replaced him with the likes of Ayton and Bamba. Neither are good but they have size, and that’s all that matters to some.
I understand, but we cannot continue to spin our wheels and wait for change. No player, including Trae or JJ, is untouchable if it means improving the team. Playing it safe will only result in us consistently landing picks 10 - 15 every year, and that's not acceptable anymore.

He’s not going to solve any of the perimeter defense issues this team has. He’s not as good of a defender as Hunter. Offensively, his shot profile quite frankly sucks. He doesn’t shoot threes at a high rate. He doesn’t get to the rim. Then, his contract situation sucks. He’s already overpaid for what he is, and will be asking for a lot more as a free agent.
The truth is, there aren't many players who will fulfill our needs in perimeter/POA defense without us having to sacrifice something valuable. I have my reservations about BI too, but currently, our options are limited unless we're prepared to trade Trae or JJ.

Depends on what the ‘25 pick can net… no pun intended.
The #21 has very little value based on the perception around here regarding this draft. I think Okongwu is more valuable than an add on to get a pick. Do we move the picks for ‘now’ players? If not, what does that communicate to Trae?
Well if Lebron does not resign with Lakers, that pick becomes gold and you can use that pick, one of two picks this year and any player that will give you a bigger fish in the sea.

The Hawks should put the screws to New Orleans and demand Jones to be included, particularly if they have to give up OO in the deal. They also need to find a third team to take Ingram.
If no Jones, then trade DJM to SA for picks and a TPE and go after Isaac Okoro in a SNT deal.
The current trade, which includes OO and DJ for BI, Dyson Daniels, as well as LAL's first and '21, is viewed as a favorable deal. Although losing OO and not acquiring Jones is a downside, the benefit of having two draft picks this year and two next year (SAC/LAL) is significant. Moreover, if LBJ departs from the Lakers, their chances of making the playoffs in the West diminish, thereby increasing the value of that pick.

Today's question is: If OO is traded to NO, should we retain Capela or trade him to another team? I appreciate the OO/DJ trade, which will provide us with two picks in this draft (not ideal for this draft) or serve as leverage for another significant trade.

So get BI, Daniels, 21 and LA 2025 1ST for DJ and OO. Hmm, that is a good deal for sure, since we still have Sac 25 1st as well, you can get a good player in a trade with those picks.

JJ's hometown is Wisconsin, ergo 'sending him home'
and that superstar has Big Apple Dreams as well? But you know that is a pipe dream but nice one indeed.

I can come up with lots of deals I like better. What will be available to us is speculation.

One trade that I've seen discussed by another site is Murray to Orlando for Johnathan Isaac, Anthony Black, and the 18th pick. That's A MUCH BETTER trade than any deal for Ingram.
I don't think the Magic will proceed with that, even though Murray would be a nice acquisition for them; they probably want us to add a pick to that deal.

So then you gave up Murray for nothing. And lose Ingram for nothing. If he doesn't fit and we are losing, flipping his expiring contract with his money demands at the deadline is going to be pennies on the dollar.
We know what this team needs. It's defense. Ingram doesn't help. I don't need a one-year rental to find that out. He's another slow, lazy, zero impact player like Hunter. Sure he has a pretty good offensive skillset, but that's not what this team needs. If we were building around Murray or Jrue Holiday maybe he would be a better fit.
Any trade involving Murray would need to include draft picks, given his significant contract and the likelihood of other teams offering less desirable players. Currently, an upgrade is necessary by any means possible.

I don't know that I want to pay the taller version of Murray twice as much though. Hawks are in desperate need of some DEFENSE, TOUGHNESS and GRIT on the wing and frontcourt.
And those don't grow on trees. Plus, I don't want to pay BI that much money either, but... it is what it is.

You have no idea how drastically better we would be adding
Herb Jones
Jarrett Allen
and possibly getting a Marcus Smart or Alex Caruso
That would be REAL INTELLIGENT GM'ing around Trae and JJDo you believe the Cavs or Pels would trade talents like Jones or Allen? I doubt it, but if it does happen, I'll be pleased, though it seems like a pipe dream.

I played around with it on fanspo, and it would take more than what's listed to make it go.
This works though financially:
Hawks trade Dejounte Murray and Oneyeka Okongwu to New Orleans, AJ Griffin to Cleveland.New Orleans trades Brandon Ingram to Cleveland, Herbert Jones and 2024 FRP to Atlanta, 2025 FRP to Cleveland.
Cleveland trades Jarret Allen and Caris LaVert to Atlanta.
So we are going to trade DJM, OO, AJ for Herbert Jones, Jarrent Allen and Caris LaVert?
Nope, that is not good deal at all.

Yep. That's the ticket. The Hawks need to find a third team to take Ingram.
EDIT: I wonder if Cleveland getting Ingram could open up a SNT deal for Okoro.
I dont really think that Pels is going to give up Herb Jones at all and we have to give up a 10 too.
To me, i will not do any deals without picks going our way and nothing else.

Hunter has to be gone if we get Ingram. $60M for 2 guys that may combined play a full season. Gross.
But the question is......Who wants Hunter?

I don't see them trading Herb Jones. Think BI and Dyson and one or two first rounders. I believe the source said it was DJM and Capela going to them. The main thrust of the trade is BI for DJM and the rest is just trying to work out value for each player.
Indeed, acquiring one or two first-round picks would be beneficial for facilitating future deals (I have a hunch that OO/Hunter/AJ might be traded this summer too).
@Sothron, I'm pleased to see your Wolves performing well, but I'm curious if they reach the Finals, will they retain the entire roster and pay the luxury tax?

This brings us back to the initial question: which player(s) will step up to assist the Hawks now? It's important to remember that we lack draft capital and, aside from a few, the players are not meeting expectations.

This article details why Ingram would not be a fit for Atlanta, based on why he isn’t a fit in New Orleans.
It seems you're not considering Ingram at all. However, we must entertain all options, including Ingram and others. Doing nothing could result in losing Trae, and currently, there aren't any better options available. Unless, of course, you're considering WLOC once more?

Yeah, we need to trade Capella or OO right now and this is just crazy right now.
