It was the opposite here. How did this get turned around? This club stood by Whoreford thru his two titty injuries and he spit on that very club on the way out. Him and his asshole father. To Hell with Al

This is pretty much on target IMO. I never understood why he had to put ATL under a bus to justify a move to bean town! It is funny to still hear how great he is and in the same sentence how Boston need a rebounder. You get what you get with Whoreford. Skilled and soft.

No.  Always pass on college, bully-ball 4's that relied on college refs whistles.

We could just sign Trevor Booker or Jarnell Stokes if you like that type of player and neither would cost us a 1st.

Scofield or Bone are better picks in round 2.

I'm not saying Grant is our man, but neither Stokes nor Booker have the skill set of Grant Williams. He is young and has high skill set and IQ. He seems to be one of those hard workers with a strong motor.

As far as his reliance on college refs whistles, he did get to the line frequently, but also was able to create on his own from some of the videos I am watching. I had no idea he was 2 years younger than Brandon Clarke. Makes me wonder a bit about Clarke now.

  3. So is all this talk of the 4 team trade legit?

Just checking in at the half of Game 5 to see what has been brewing today.

Also does anyone think Grant Williams (Tennessee) at 17?  I think he reminds me of a more skilled Charles Barkley from back in the day. Just trying to watch some highlights of some of the players that might be hanging around that 15-20 window and he caught my eye.

This was a fantastic trade for both teams. Hawks clearly won this deal for what we were trying to do and Nets for what they were trying to do. Win-Win.

I agree. I don't see the down side for either team. While I think TP will continue to improve for another few seasons, I trust Schlenk's judgment here. The extra flexibility for us on draft night makes another move highly likely now. I also don't think Crabbe is crap. He just is NOT worth 18.5 a year:) For us, we aren't looking to sign max contracts this year, so it isn't a big deal...we will let him expire or resign as a cheaper roll player if he can perform. For the Nets, they can now pursue their "win now" dream 2.0

I am highly impressed with Schlenk once again!

    Go Hawks!!!!

After the epic fail that is the lottery ... Basically the guys I want us to draft are in this order

One of whoever is left at 8

    jarret Culver

    DeAndre Humter

    Cam Reddish

At 10 I am interested in us taking a chance on Sekou Doumbouya

I am hoping for Reddish at 8. Probably a long shot, but would love to see Young, Collins, and Reddish on the break

WTF is going on in Orlando?  They beat Miami and Boston, 1 point loss to Philly.

They are playing with intensity and focus. Nice to see. Sometimes the pieces click more than anyone thought might happen...then again we are only a few games into a long season. If they are still playing at that level at the AS break, then I will be legitimately stunned.

If yall think we were gushing over Trae, you should have listened to the Cavs announcers. It was a love affair with our "unstoppable" PG, Trae....

What did you listen to it on? I was busy this afternoon and when I checked the score we were way up with a little under 8 minutes left. So did we play better ball? Hate to ask. Or was it just a sloppy Cavs team making us look sharp. I hope it was the former and not the latter. Either way though, I will take the W. Excited for the future for sure.

  8. I'm still giddy as a 50's school girl over seeing Justin Anderson's name on our roster. I'm taking the rest in stride.

I am excited too. Just really hope that he will shake his tendency to be injured. If you noticed, the two philly players moved were both injury prone.

I like his game, just hope to see him stay healthy and develop more here in Atlanta.

Thanks for the link...Here is the key info on the pick:

"The 2022 first-round pick is protected 1-14, and becomes two second-round picks if not conveyed in that first year, league sources said."

Do you really want to go there?  With the possible exception of Prince and Dedmon (maybe Collins, but he's still coming off the bench for successful teams), wouldn't you say that our guys were "backups" or worse (G-League scrubs)?  Cleveland, Muscala, Lee, Taylor, Bembry, Dorsey?  Those guys strike fear into the hearts of opponents everywhere.

I just can't understand why in the world we would have tried to win that game...I am not arguing our guys are "starters" for other teams. I was merely pointing out that there wasn't a celtic starter played in the fourth...except one. So why would we not pull back too. We have nothing to win in winning that game.

As someone who is still cool with a number of people and maybe @Sothron, I've heard anything but this team aiming for more than a top pick. I really think Bud got the call to play to win due to liking our odds and probably to build up the moral for next season. That's all I can take away from this

There should be no pride in playing against the team's backups for the entire fourth.

  12. I get home from work and what do I find? The most indefensible win ever. This is stupidity!!! I am not a tank guy, but when you are officially this bad, do NOT continue to play Prince or anyone with a hot hand. All that really matters at this point is getting the highest lottery pick possible. If we don't want it, then trade down. Just don't screw up a horrible season by winning at the end. Wins mattered before the playoffs were decided. Now they are worse than meaningful.

    Sheesh!

  13. We lost way too many five star posters over one of the most inane things I've ever seen on the internet. And I was on the net back in the forgotten years of 1996. We could use those posters back but there's no point in crying over spilled milk.

The blatant and non stop troll warfare from two posters has almost completely killed my interest in posting and I know from speaking to other posters that I'm not alone in feeling that way. You add those two things up and its a shock we have any posts other than the Negative Nancies on this site.

    Where did gray mule go?

  14. I was close on most but laid an egg with Bemebry, Illyasova and Moose.  Underestimated Belinelli.

I think to be fair the sample set on Bembry should not even be considered yet. Too few games[emoji22]

Shouldn't worry about Prince yet. In the regular season/playoffs he turned defense into offense and got his when he could. In this summer league run he's been trying to push himself and become more of a creator on offense than a 3nD role player.

Ah, the voice of reason;) I prefer your version of Prince's summer league displays. Thanks!!!

    Two reasons:

    1.  He has put together a roster where the top 10 guys on the roster have a combined projected 6.4 WARP going into the 2017-2018 season.

    2.  Building around youth = losing.

While I agree with the dismal projections of the 2017-2018 season, I prefer that to maxing out our cap space for the next 3 years with THJ, Millsap, and Howard.

Letting the Knicks throw money at THJ like a drunk lottery winner at a strip club is not a tank job. Preferring to give our past few draft classes more playing time while keeping 30 million off the cap annually is still not tanking...It is saying that the future could not be built with last year's core. That run is over. We'd have all been better off had we made that decision before the trade deadline last year, but then again that is why Schlenk is here now in the front office and not Bud.

I think we will see a young, hungry, scrappy team that (IF some players take steps forward) will be a surprising team in the abysmal East. Unfortunately after watching the Summer League I am petrified at Prince's apparent steps backward as a player. I only hope I am wrong about Prince. He certainly was fun to watch last season and gave me hope for the future.

Even Quinn has moved guys. Vic went from LEO to SAM, Shede moved from DE to DT midseason.

Their vision for Bembry was being a playmaker. That was said draft night.

I don't think that vision of Bembry being a playmaker pushes him into a PG/SG role however. In Bud's system playmaking can happen from any position. I think testing Bembry physically at the 2 and 3 will let Bud see what he is really capable of. We certainly need some playmakers;)

The likely starting lineup will be:

    PG: Dennis /

    SG: Bazemore / Belinelli

    SF: Prince / Bembry

PF: Ilyasova / Collins /   ( No Collins won't start right away, once he learns Bud's system he may by Jan 18)

    C:  Dedmond / Muscala / Dorsey

I'm with you except at C...might be forgetting our recent signings;)
