  1. I would go for Kapono for the minimum if we have already filled more important positions. I would not be against simply drafting a knock down shooter also whom would be cheaper. Andrew Goudelock, Ravern Johnson, John Diebler could all fill that role for cheaper.
  2. Also Marvin for #32 and that trade exception http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3e22vph
  3. I hope I am all wrong and he is going to use that $3 million bucks we sold that 2nd round pick for last draft to get us in position to cause some real damage this draft
  4. Looks like we are just two wishful thinking fools, LMAO. I would take that lineup but honestly I have a sneaky feeling you and I are going to be sick after Thursday night because I think someone really good is going to fall to #18.
  5. I read an article recently that the Cavs are supposedly interested in moving Sessions or Baron Davis and also even JJ Hickson in the right deal. There are obvious reasons they want to move Baron Davis or Sessions because there will not be enough playing time for all 3 Kyrie Irving, Baron Davis, and Sessions someone will be getting played out of position there. In comes Kirk once again, he can play SG and he guard both positions. He has an expiring contract and is being given credit for training young PG's. The deal: Kirk Hinrich for Ramon Sessions, Clevelands trade exception and the #32 pick. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3zexh82 This would work for many reasons. Obviously Cleveland is going to have a much harder time moving Davis contract. They are also not going to be able to use that trade exception unless some type of extension is given due to the lockout because the exception lasts a calender year. The Lebron ordeal went down last year in early July. Its looking there will be a lockout in early July and noone will be using those exceptions that includes Cleveland and us. They also have 2 2nd round picks #32 and #54, plus the #1 and #4 picks so they will not be hurting for picks in the draft. Financially the Cavs save about $800,000 over the lives of the contracts but we save about $4 million this year. Hmm, for all those claiming Kirk has this great trade value I am pretty sure he can bring us a second round draft pick and Ramon Sessions.
  6. Because they get Kirk he is a great trainer of young PG's. If you want Kyrie to ever be worth anything you need Kirk.
  7. How much are you going to be willing to spend on him? I don't like him for the Hawks personally and considering he is originally form Florida I think he will make his way back closer to home
  8. There has been a lot of talk about making moves this draft season. So, Sund saying there is probably less just shows he is out of the loop and not able to do anything because of giving up all his chips for Hinrich and he is still skeptical about trading any of the core which is fine. "There's probably less (talk among teams) with regards to the uncertainty of the CBA and people willing to pull the trigger," Sund said Friday. "In prior years a few days before the draft, there's some consummation of trades. There's just as much dialogue, but not much action." Sund is a walking politician/liar. Less talk on one hand. Then more dialogue on the other. Sund just tripped himself up dude needs to learn to say I am out of the loop or don't know instead of feeding a line of BS.
  9. How about we should have kept Jordan and or the 18th pick and that would have more than covered for Jamal leaving and would have been cheaper
  10. I obviously stated that Dwight would then be signed to a contract like Joe's which means a long term max deal you guys just like to argue for the fact of arguing and post to see your numbers improve
  11. Show me where this draft is so weak? Show me how we could not have used Jordan and the #18 pick next year with so few players under contract and a payroll already basically shot. Show me how if the draft is so weak the front office is now saying they will be drafting a player at 48 that they fully expect to make the team and even help if called upon. Show me how Kirk whom we undoubtedly got because we thought he made us better against better competition did his job other than the 1st round of the playoffs. Show me how Kirk helped us get any further than we had gotten the previous 2 years at a much steeper cost. I dont see how it would be a wasted call to simply see what were they thinking that made them give up so much to get so little back. Why is the grass always greener on the other side, meaning why not just sit Bibby and start Teague. Why give Hinrich the job when you wanted Teague to take it. Those are the type of questions I would be asking so I dont see how it could be a wasted call.
  12. That's a joke of a offer. I am not as in love as some of you guys are with Howard honestly because I think we would have to gut our team to get him and they still would probably not do anything with us because we are in the same division. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6b5axdh Joe, Al, Zaza, Kirk, and Marvin for Dwight, Gilbert, and Hedo might get them to think twice because we take there bad contracts along with Howard. Howard would then be signed to a max deal like what Joe had.
  13. I would call the entire front office in a conference call and ask what made them make that lopsided Hinrich trade.
  14. Sessions and Jamison for Marvin and Kirk nothing else makes sense unless we are trying to get Derrick Williams or Kanter. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=5wvwapn
  15. I actually think Jimmy Butler is the guy we should be targeting. He can give us a lot of what Damien can give us for half the price. Keith Benson could give us what Etan gave us for half the price considering Etan did not give us anything on the court and I cant see how he made Al, Zaza, nor Josh tougher in practice. We really need more from the SG position than I think we can get out of Shumpert, Lee, or Leslie, considering we need a backup SG. I also can't get over how people were all over hawks forums arguing about the first round pick not having value now we are seeing the truth. We need players and bodies and would have needed them even if we had kept Bibby as our expiring instead of Hinrich and Jordan. We would have 2 more bodies after this draft if we had not made that trade and not be in any worse financial condition.
  16. http://blogs.ajc.com...fid=blogs_hawks The Atlanta Hawks spin cycle continues. Defenders of the Hinrich trade continue to claim the reason for giving up both the 1st round pick and Jordan was because the 1st round pick had little value and we would not find a player that could help at that position which was always just people trying to defend giving up too much. None of us are fortune tellers who can see into the future and tell that there would not be anyone there that could help. Now it seems that theory has been debunked for anyone who needed it debunked. "We are not approaching this like there is luck involved," he said. "We are approaching it like, 'This is our pick and somebody we expect to make our team.' And hopefully, if there is an injury, you can plug [the rookie] in there and they will be able to help." That's a direct quote from the Hawks front office. Moving along since I can't change the past I am looking forward to us picking a good player and I have some ideas. 1 Keith Benson 2 Jeremy Tyler 3 Jimmy Butler 4. Tyler Honeycutt 5. Gary Flowers 6. Travis Leslie 7. Iman Shumpert 8. Malcolm Lee 9. Justin Holiday 10. Shelvin Mack I could see all of those guys helping in some way if called upon. Finally, I can see and understand this getting moved to Draft Talk even though it is not simply draft talk its just as much about how the Hawks front office spins things consistently like they are dealing with a bunch of uninformed dummies for fans.Or could I be wrong was it and is it more about you guys arguing amongst one another for the sake of argument with your claims that the pick had little to no value?
  17. I dont think much of him, he can shoot though, I know people are gonna look at him and think Kirk Hinrich but he is not that plus he left MS State because they had too many good guards, he did not really want to compete he wanted to go somewhere where he could be more of the man. Not the attitude I would want. I would not be surprised if we took him though because we waste picks
  18. Mississippi Mockingbirds Tony Parker Demar Derozan Carmelo Anthony Tim Duncan Brook Lopez Devin Harris Trevor Ariza Emeka Okafor
  19. I will take Trevor Ariza will only be 26 when the season starts can play SG and SF, can defend at a high level and has championship experience as a starter for the Lakers before they got Artest.
  20. The same goes for Bibby and that was basically what my post was saying. I think we are in for the same situation with the same results
  21. I would not trade Josh for Kaman, as I stated before Marvin, Zaza, and Kirk would work for Mo Williams and Kaman and it makes a lot of sense to me. They get a cheaper backup big in Zaza, they get Hinrich's expiring instead of having to pay Mo that extra year, taking on Marvin is just the cost of operation http://www.hawksquawk.net/community/index.php/topic/359715-kirk-hinrich-trade-ideas/
  22. I have a best friend and I asked him the other was the current place he is living in his last move and he told me he is headed wherever the money takes him. I imagine if I could find him a job here that pays more money than what he is currently getting he would move here other than that our friendship has nothing to do with where we stay or work.
  23. Teague is definitely the key to internal growth but I guess I am alone when it comes to wondering why he is being questioned to the point some still want him to take the job when Kirk had 6 good games as a Hawk. Sounds like the same Bibby mess again.
  24. Cool, as long as you notify him everything will work out fine. He might not take UNDRAFTED and everything will be fine.
