  1. Apparently he signed a "mega deal" in Greece. Oh well. Time to look elsewhere.
  2. A little off topic, but one thing I've noticed in every single trade discussing the Hawks getting a player other than Dwight is: "(player) is best friends with Dwight, and will help the Hawks in their pursuit of Dwight and getting him to resign." I think this whole "playing-and-staying-with-friends" thing has gone way overboard. I'm sure having Josh and Morrow on the team don't hurt our chances, but I think it's ridiculous that people are justifying trades because "well, he's friends with Dwight and Josh."
  3. We'll have to wait till he clears waivers of course, but I think he'd be a great help and we desperately need a SF.
  4. Also rumored, a trade involving ORL/CLE/LAL sending Dwight to the Lakers, Bynum to the Cavs, and who knows what to the Magic. I'm assuming this is due to Bynum saying he'd be interested in playing for the Cavs. Here's the link including an Alex Kennedy tweet: http://losangeles.sbnation.com/los-angeles-lakers/2012/7/14/3159560/lakers-free-agency-rumors-three-way-trade-magic-cavs-dwight-howard-andrew-bynum
  5. Jenkins has hit 2 buzzer beater 3's so far.
  6. Typical bleacher report. I know Chicago would like to get rid of Boozer's contract, but taking back other bad ones and giving away a pick in the process isn't likely. On the Hawks side, I don't want Boozer's awful contract, would put us in 2nd round purgatory again, even with Dwight. Smoove/Boozer/Dwight would be a bad combo.
  7. Oh I see, thanks for the clarification. Unfortunately, unless the Rockets land Dwight, they don't look to be playoff bound anytime soon. Gonna have to keep that pick on ice for a while.
  8. The pick is lottery protected through 2016 I believe, then it becomes a 2nd round pick in 2017.

If the Magic want us to take J-Rich off of their hands we have to offer Zaza as well as Horford. I'm just guessing, but I'd assume the draft picks are the two this coming year. If Houston doesn't get Howard, they're going to suck, and their pick is lottery protected so we won't get anything out of it the next few years likely. It might come down to if the Magic want Teague or not. But that's just me speculating.
  10. The only real chance the Lakers' have on getting Dwight is if the 3-team trade that sends Dwight to LA, Bynum to Houston, and Houston's first round picks from this past draft plus a pick or two from both teams goes through. That aside, I believe Houston is our biggest threat. They can offer Royce White, Jeremy Lamb, or Terrence Jones, as well as other young players and future draft picks. That would be Orlando's best bet if they're truly trying to rebuild. If they don't want to start completely from scratch however, we have the best package. We could offer them something like Horford/Zaza/our two first round draft picks this year. This would allow us to get Dwight, as well as take back Jason Richardson's contract, which the Magic would appreciate. I don't know if they want Teague, as they've just signed Jameer. If Teague is a dealbreaker they can have him. If Dwight gets traded to a team other than us however, we should hope it is Houston. Even with Dwight, I can't see them competing next year, and Dwight's options about where to walk in free agency next year will be limited. Can't go to the Nets or Lakers unless you're looking to play for the MLE (which I highly doubt). Atlanta would provide Dwight the best chance to win a championship with (Plus Josh Smith is on the team).
  11. Started watching in 07. Wasn't an NBA fan before then, but I'm a big Florida and Al Horford fan, so I just adopted the Hawks as my favorite team when they drafted him.Favorite players are Josh and AlI appreciate Joe, but I was happy about the trade. It'll get us off the treadmill one way or another. As for how we finish this year. I still expect a lot more changes. With Dwight, we can finish in the top 3 in a weaker east. Without him, I still think we can get a 5-7 seed. I went to the Pacers vs Hawks game last year as I live in Indiana, and the second I get to my seat was when Al went down with his injury. We might have lost Joe, but having Al for a full season and improved play from Teague and some scoring from Lou, the Hawks are definitely in the playoff mix. Thanks for all the greetings, I look forward to trying to not make a fool out of myself on here.
  12. You finally motivated me. Been following the board for years. Now let's go get us some Dwight!
