Good article to get an idea why people are mocking him more and more as #1

Players with no offensive game inevitably end up on the bench, no matter how good their defense is. Look at Matisse Thybulle.
That is a terrible comp. Look at James Wiseman and Marvin Bagley..
Players with no defense bomb harder
On top of that, Thybulle is a shooting guard.. you want primarily scoring from the shooting guard spot.. However, Thybulle is a lot more valuable like the Caruso's of the world then an average scoring shooting guard. You are way out of the sensical zone.

Cause that is just what the Hawks need right now... more offense... SMH you people are clueless
I'm witnessing meltdowns over his PNR, offense, etc. when we have a team perennially in the top 5-10 in offensive production while we have NO f'n rim protection or POA defense.
WHEN WILL YOU PEOPLE EVER LEARN
We need more Bam Adebayo's and less Devin Bookers

I am out on him if the idea is him as a 5. He will bust extremely fast.
Bro... You need to calm yourself..
You can teach fundamentals..
You can't teach athleticism.
Clingan and Edey will always fall in the Valanciunas and Bogut category. Hawks don't need that right now. They need athletic rim protection and wing defense.
At overtime he was already getting hyped as athletic:

I thought this was interesting.
These are the #1 picks from 1989 - 2024, and what they turned out to be.
I think whomever the Hawks take at 1, they need to be thrown into the main rotation right away. Whether he's a starter or coming off the bench, he needs to be thrown into the fire right away. No less than 20 minutes a night.
We need the guy to contribute immediately and see if he can be a rookie of the year candidate. And if he's not a starter in Year 1, I definitely want him starting in Year 2.
That's why we keep the pick and we start them immediately. Love this post

Exactly. I see the interwebs going crazy about trading Trae and Murray for MORE pick in this draft. ....then rebuild. We are still out picks in 2025 and 2027.
People are stupid... that is the answer

Then add Bridges, PG13, or one of those Pelicans wings and we might be onto something.
I feel a lot better about our future now than I did 3 hours ago.
Can't go wrong with a #1 pick (me, blocking out mentally the Anthony Bennett pick)... Don't let some posters around here convince you otherwise.. lmao

Quick Hawks specific draft board:

This is a no-brainer IMO

Wiseman is less raw than Sarr is and I had Wiseman floor as Gleague. That's a problem man. This kid is a freakish talent but he's miles away from producing at the pro level and I don't even think he's a big at all.
There isn't a prospect I've gone at people about more than this guy and now he's on my team's big board. f*** the NBA! Why do you hate my franchise so much
Wiseman couldn't get off the bench because he sucked defensively. Period.
SARR IS A FRONTCOURT DEFENDER

Hawks aren't trading the pick.
You really really think a franchise with it's first #1 is trading it?
No front office is making that gamble mistake.. ya'll playing 2k in your minds

High impact defensively...
His best compare is JJJ and maybe Bam... which is ABSOLUTELY WHAT WE NEED AS PRIORITY #1
He has the instinct on paint drivers to follow and block.. reminds me a lot of the two mentioned above..
we need this:

Sarr don't play tough. I watched a number of his games. I've been going at Sarr supporters necks for months, if you want to know my level of pissed. It's over 11000
My dislike for Sarr supercede my like for Edey.
We need the best POA defender or best frontcourt defender
You can be mad all you want but we need the best defender in the draft
Athleticism helps with defense...

The Hawks just won the lottery an hour ago. No decision has been made on who they are taking, what they are looking for, what deals will be available, etc. Everybody gotta relax. Some of you have already clinched onto Sarr others already saying he sucks. Let the process play out. I assure you they did not go into the day thinking they would win the lottery.
things don't happen randomly.. Hawks get #1 in the weaker draft years.. Adam makes the real picks we all know that

Based on the history of foreign #1's having issues until Wemby, I'm ok with Clingan if the FO decides he has enough upside needed for a championship team

The best thing about Sarr is he is 7'1", athletic, has great defensive instincts, and he can shoot -- he's the archetype of big that every single in the team would kill for.
I think the point has to be made that the Hawks need the best front court defender and the best backcourt POA defender to pair with Trae.
We saw when Capela was great (he didn't need to create for himself), we played really well.

Why we yelling at each other?
Find the last rookie that changed a teams defensive fortunes and ill show you a generational talent. Mic drop.

You talkin' to me, bro. Trade it all the day long.
There's no generational guy available this year. IIWII.
There's not even a dude we can market in this draft. Let alone one we van win with. Smh, I'm pissed they waited til this year to give it to us.
HAWKS NEED DEFENSE NOT A GENERATIONAL TALENT.. WE HAVE A TOP 10 OFFENSE EVERY YEAR AND A BOTTOM 5 DEFENSE

It's gotta be Sarr... get the defensive front court presence we have been missing...
OUR DEFENSE WOULD GET BETTER!!!!!
