We just got the #1 pick in the draft for the first time. We already have an established Superstar in Trae Young. The teams in this rare position did not trade their Superstar just because they got the #1 pick. They picked the best player and went on to win Championships!

    1. Los Angeles Lakers (1979): The Lakers won the draft lottery and selected Magic Johnson with the #1 pick. They already had Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on their roster.
    2. Los Angeles Lakers (1982): The Lakers won the draft lottery and selected James Worthy with the #1 pick. They already had Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on their roster.
    3. San Antonio Spurs (1997): The Spurs won the draft lottery and selected Tim Duncan with the #1 pick. They already had David Robinson on their roster.
    4. Houston Rockets (1984): The Rockets won the draft lottery and selected Hakeem Olajuwon with the #1 pick. They already had Ralph Sampson on their roster.

Anything else is the literal definition of insanity.

The fact that Mark Bradley is advocating for something (anything at all) is all the proof I need that my opposite position is correct.  Between him, Jeff Schultz, and Terrance Moore, the AJC back in the day had the market cornered on hilariously bad sports takes.

    Spot on...

The Atlanta media has NEVER EVER NEVER EVER NEVER EVER HAD GOOD TAKES

When they publish a take or viewpoint you run the opposite way

Budda Baker, LeBron James, A.J Brown, and Kyler Murray have all done it to send a message so don't sit there like the smartest guy in the room thinking players don't use the platform as a sort of voice, stance, or protest towards their teams.

Ok bro.. there are a lot of people in this world.. you proved nothing

Dre would be gone if a decent offer ever appeared.

That has nothing to do with talking about how social media brainiacs thought he was traded last summer when he cleared his Instagram … for his moms death remembrance.. we can’t sweep stupidity of people under the rug anymore just like we can’t sweep Evan Sidery, the bot account, throwing literal sh#t against the wall

people need to be held accountable for their knee jerk reactions to social media as if it is the bible of all things nba

  6. Who cares about social media…

Every idiot thought Deandre Hunter was traded and all he did was take everything down in rememberence of his mom…

y’all get fooled over and over and over every time and still act like this

millennials must think social media is an extension of every feeling of a person or something.. []

Ok draft the next Hasheem Thabeet. Have fun with that. Sarr's offensive game is really rough. According to synergy he misses >50% of his layups. Also, he is not a great rebounder.  He has huge bust potential.

You fail to mention that Thabeet was 1/100th as athletic as many of those other defenders.. which is important to make it in the nba.

Thabeet was known for having cinder blocks for feet

Not to mention he was extremely new to basketball, where sarr is in a basketball family

    Tyson Chandler was pick #2.

Also Tristan was taken #4 in a draft with Kyrie (obvious)… then Derrick Williams (draft profile literally says he has wavering intensity on the defensive end, and Kanter (who had limited position flexibility and draft profiles called called out his defensive failures

-This lack of experience shows up first and foremost on the defensive end, where Kanter was incredibly ineffective in the film we watched. His fundamentals, instincts and positioning leave a lot to be desired. He can often be found standing straight up in the paint with his arms down, putting in little to no effort. He rarely boxes out his opponent and generally looks disinterested in anything that has to do with defense. He rarely bends his knees and often fails to get back in transition--doing very little to protect the paint when he does. - Source:” https://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Enes-Kanter-5168/©DraftExpress

Name one defensive role player that's made an all star team besides Rudy Gobert? Name one defensive role player that's started in an all star game? Yea Alex Caruso is an impactful player. Would anyone take him with the number one overall pick? Offense is really, really important.

Draymond is a defensive anchor and never was the offensive threat… just literally off the top of my head.. there are so many important defensive players that were stars and didn’t have the scoring load..

    Pistons anyone?

what are the bulls without Rodman

You want dominant defensive champions or a scoring 4 or 5… tell me which one you want in the finals
