It’s crazy how I have to keep repeating the same stuff over and over again. DEJOUNTE DOES NOT WANT TO BE HERE! You have literally not responded to anything I said about the coaching changes we have to do. Everyone is bought in except ONE GUY! Cam got traded because he was young, dumb, and thought he was too good of a player to be treated the way he was. If Cam didn’t want to change his attitude, what was the front office supposed to do?

It’s literally same thing with Dejounte. If Dejounte doesn’t want to change his attitude AT ALL (which it’s pretty obvious he’s been angry at this situation and doesn’t want to change his mind for a few months now), what the heck else is the front office supposed to do? He’s got to go. We can’t be making all these adjustments to just suit Dejounte, especially when we need to be focusing on Jalen’s development who everyone loves. If he doesn’t want to be here, THEN TRADE HIM. No reason to continue the relationship. Stop trying to make something work that a person clearly wants to end. Like Dejounte literally posted this Instagram story, he’s not changing his mind!

Who on this team is bought in? How many good games of Hawks basketball have you watched this season? This team fully healthy is barely .500 which as far as I'm concerned is a major underperformance. Our problems are bigger than Murray and shipping him out just to do it fixes nothing. We're not losing games just because of Murray. There's a real lack of leadership within the organization, not just the players. This team is just going through the motions, and it's clear than Quin's system is doing nothing to enhance most of the talent on the team. My point isn't to blame coaching or the players, but rather the front office that isn't doing their job. They are not managing the team and its clear now that since Shlenk's removal we have no plan, no direction. Further mismanagement of the roster will continue to lead to us losing games until the day Trae asks out, because he'll reach the same conclusion other players have: that they're better off somewhere else.

It's not about pacifying Dejounte or Cam or anyone else because I think they're our savior. It's about making necessary concessions, or personnel changes that actually move the team forward in a positive direction. We can have our disagreements about what the Hawks should do, but it should be clear that what they have actually done in reality is set us back more and more. Selling low on Dejounte doesn't fix anything.

The only way Murray is gonna be happy at this point is if he gets the ball more. On a team with Trae young (one of the best point guards in the league) where we are already doing the point guard stagger, that is literally impossible. Unless you want to give more decision making to DJ, which you shouldn’t because we shouldn’t take the ball out of our best playmaker’s hands. We would have to change the offensive philosophy of Quin which we shouldn’t because it seems like Trae and every is bought in except DJ who doesn’t like it. We’re not gonna change how a coach coaches because of Dejounte Murray cries about his touches.

Do people not realize the way that Dejounte is acting right now, he’s already lowering his trade value. He’s acting like he’s uncoachable arguing with Quin in games now. He doesn’t care, he’s just ready to go at this point. You can’t just wait for the season to be over, YOU HAVE TO GET HIM OFF NOW. This isn’t me agenda posting, it literally makes zero sense to have a dude who clearly doesn’t want to be here past the deadline.

At this point we just gotta take whatever offer we can get because Dejounte being a malcontent is doing a great job of lowering his trade value. It’s the reason why I want to just do the lakers deal because it’s the fastest way to get this thing over with. Zero reason to let this simmer for the whole season

We do not have to make a trade if we're not getting any good offers. Somebody in the front office should've been able to mediate this situation, otherwise they're not doing their job. If Murray is unhappy with the way he's being utilitized, things should've never devolved to the point where now he wants out, after just signing an extension this past summer.

I felt the same way when we traded Cam. Even though Cam may not have been as good as he thought he was, at that time he should've never came to the conclusion that a trade request was his best option. That signals to me that whatever his concerns were, they were neglected to the point where he decides he's done. I'm not saying we should do everything a player suggests, but clearly we've failed to keep players bought into the long term goal of a Hawks' championship. If we trade Murray we might as well get ready to trade Trae next because what will we be left with? At some point the front office needs to actually do their job and manage and develop the talent we do have. Not pray that the skills training these guys do on their own time translates into on-court success.

We would have the same record with Collin’s. He wasn’t an impactful enough player to challenge outcomes . The trade wasn’t good but Collin’s was no difference maker to the extent of wins and losses.

Collins playing 30 minutes a game during JJ's absence would've gotten us more than 1 win. While Collin's may not be a difference maker, he was at least a good defender which we don't have enough of. Trading him for nothing was set us back. It wasn't a fatal decision, but you don't get better trading solid starters for nothing in return.

Everyone blaming Nate … how about the fact that Trae missed Dre coming over for what would’ve been a relatively open 3 before he threw it off Plumlee???? Nate tell him to do that too?? SMH. More frustrated with Trae tonight than I may have been all season.

He did miss Hunter, but I bet he was worried about the 5 second violation and when Murray couldn't free himself in the corner, he knew he was running out of time.

Trae might rack up dimes, but he doesn't understand how to be a floor general.

How does Hunter who was 10/14 shooting for 25 points through the 3rd quarter end the game with 10/15 shooting for 25 points? Did he not even look his way in the 4th quarter? smh

You can also blame the coach who refuses to make it a priority anybody touches the ball in a given night. McMillan coaches like Trae and Dejounte are the only two players who we can run the offense through.

We were missing 2 main parts.  The lob threat was gone without Capela in the game and with JC in foul trouble.  And Hunter is normally good for 15 ppg.

We scored 121 points.  The Hawks are 13 - 4 when we score 121 points or more.

Last night is the wrong time to be complaining about the offense, because we scored more than enough points to win the game.  But we lost because we couldn't get stops.  And that's because our 2 best defensive players were out, who also can score.

You can win an NBA game by outgunning your opponent. When you're down two of your best defensive players, there needs to be more scoring to compensate. 121 points is a lot, but we needed more. Our guards aren't interested/capable of containing the ball on the perimeter. If we're going to win despite that, they gotta make shots.

  7. Teams didn't figure us out. JC can't hit a three and JJ backing him up can't shoot either. Trae ball works fine if you've got the shooters who can punish teams for bringing an extra man to stop the lob. We used to have the great benefit of JC shooting ~40% and Gallinari off the bench who was an even better shooter. Now we need to adapt and do some different things. We can still be successful but Trae ball won't get us far even though we've got a better roster now.

Do you really want to run ish through JJ who's always looking unsure if not in transition?

I don't mind running the show between Trae and Murray. I just wish Trae would move off the damn ball during the flow of the game.

This offense is trash and worse than before. The PDS guys were horrible defenders but at least the offense made some type of sense as spammy as it was. Today's offense wasn't even spammy

Yeah I do want to run things through JJ, even if he's making mistakes initially. Watching somebody dribble the air out the ball isn't going to help him develop. We're losing games anyways, might as well take the lumps and see what he can do with a bigger role in the offense.

Once again . . tonight, the offense wasn't the biggest issue.  We scored 121 points and shot 48% FG.  The 3 point shooting was low.  We shot 89% FT.

But you can't give up 130 points and expect to win the game.

I'll have to agree with @Sothron.  With Lebron having it going like that, we may have been better off doubling him and hoping the role players couldn't get it done.  I think that may have led to Westbrook having a big night.  But at least Lebron wouldn't have killed us.

JC being in foul trouble was a huge reason why the defense was so bad, especially from a paint perspective.

These are the reasons why we lost.

In a game where Capela and Hunter are out, you go into it expecting not to be able to make stops. Even if John wasn't in foul trouble, we still don't have the personnel to consistently play good defense for 48 minutes without Hunter and Capela. That's why I'm focused on the offense, we have the firepower to out score the Lakers and we failed to do so. Obviously giving up 130 is why we lost, but we have the capability score more. This team plays well below the sum of its parts.

This team fits horribly. Ball movement is even worse than it usually is for us which is bad.

They can't shoot outside of Bogi and Griffin which can't defend or defend well

Bigs got no creation skills and none of our bigs can create for themselves. All of them score from alleys, garbage buckets, and movement in general.

This shit so flat like an open can of Pepsi that's two weeks old

The ball movement is bad because the coach insists everything is ran through Trae or Dejounte. We've got Jalen who's got potential as a playmaker but we do nothing with him. Bogi and Griffin barely even bring the ball up when Trae's in the game. It's clear the strategy is to lean on Trae and Dejounte to facilitate most of our offense and it's too predictable. We could do more on offense, but coaching won't open things up, I suppose out of fear of more turnovers. We've got enough shooting on the team outside of the 4 spot. If John and Jalen can at least become average with the open looks they get, we don't have a major spacing issue. And they can turn it around, that's not a permanent flaw in the roster. But so long as McMillan remains stuck in his ways, we we'll keep struggling.

I ain't tripping, this team don't fit, it is what it is. If you gonna struggle, get me Wembanyama to keep or a great draft asset we can flip to get a star that actually fits around Trae

This team fits well enough, they need to actually play cohesively though. We're not getting the best out of anybody with this heliocentric offense. When the offense is clicking, maybe our guards will decide not to be traffic cones on defense.
