Any updates on Bogi?
Sure would be nice to see him this season.
He is on that Kris Dunn recovery schedule.
Hopefully he doesn't come back playing like Kris Dunn.

I think I'm gonna need my father's blood pressure medication... JC where is your common sense?

Slim Red’s been hot tonight.
But the Sixers are less concerned with him taking a shot, letting his man cheat more to help break up the lob at the rim. Griffin has shot poorly, but his defender can't afford to leave him open.

That play going wrong had nothing to do with Holiday, but why is he on the court? If you want someone sitting in the corner that 100% should be Griffin.

We really haven't taken very many shots tonight. Too much dribbling?
Too many turnovers. Especially Murray who has been losing the ball carelessly.

No . . . it's like what Bird said, and what I alluded to last night. Dejounte is not running the bench unit well AT ALL. Very loose with the ball. Very few assists, unless in transition. He even shoots the ball worse with this group.
We've got guys not getting into the right positions on the court, even running into each other. Murray's TOs are definitely his fault, but on that last one he had some miscommunication with OO who I think expected to get the ball in the post whereas Murray wanted a screen. Just simple stuff that has to get worked out.

This team really has little chemistry at the moment.

A fluke as in a 1 time thing... This team cant shoot or defend well enough..That team had guys who could get hot at any point during the game.....Bogi aint saving us this season imo.. It usually takes him weeks to get right when he comes back... And he hasnt played 1 min with Murray... And God forbid CC goes down for any amout of time..
We've already seen that we can defend well when Capela is healthy and playing well. We are missing some shooting from that team, but Griffin has obviously filled some of that void, and getting Bogi back will also help a lot once he gets going. It might take a while, but we're capable of playing a lot better than we've seen to start the season. And it's not like we're a complete trainwreck, we're 11-9 with much room for improvement.

No. That squad had a high ceiling with a lower end floor. This squad when healthy has a higher floor but the ceiling is limited. This team won't make the ECF much less get out of the 1st round. That squad had a high ceiling. This one doesn't. They weren't a fluke. They just need the right situations. This team ain't it regardless what's in front of us. We can't shoot.
With Bogi coming back, and JC hopefully figuring this slump out eventually the shooting will be better than we've seen so far. We're not gonna be a great 3 point shooting team, but that shouldn't as big of a weakness for us by season's end. The lack of ball movement is more concerning to me, but even that is fixable. If we can get more out of JJ off the bench I think we'll be a real contender. The fact that we haven't played at all and we're still competitive is a positive sign.

Yes... Cant see that happening again in the Schlenk era..
Really? How can you say that when we haven't even played good basketball yet? We haven't seen the best version of the Hawks yet.

Nate is starting to wear out his welcome
Hali wouldnt fit with Trae. He needs to rock even more than Murray. I saw Fox and Hali and that shit never worked
That said I wish we drafted Hali. So we could trade Trae. That said, no owner is trading Trae. Terrible business move.
Do you think us getting to the ECFs was a fluke?

True, but we have not been playing well. Not for a full 48 minutes.
Of course not. I just mean that individually criticizing players when they're slumping is poor analysis. It's obvious as a team we're not playing good basketball, but shipping guys out alone isn't going to change things. McMillan needs to step up and right the ship. No excuse for us to still be relying on Trae and Murray alone to be creating the majority of our offense.

If we can't win without Capela, we aren't a good team. We are just like Toronto and Brooklyn. Fraud tier
It's not like we're getting blown out though. These have been bad losses, but we have been in these games. This team has a lot of upside if we can get the ball moving instead of settling for so many low percentage shots.

The lack of respect of OO befuddled me on here. He's one of the best switch bigs in the NBA. Protects the rim. Has the highest TS in Hawks history. Athletic and rebounds at a great clip per36. And can defend small and bigs. There aren't many guys like him around the league but this site consistently attacks him and undervalues him. It's disgusting and honestly, shows why our collective BBIQ as a fanbase is underwhelming
If we're losing games there's always gonna be a scapegoat. Folks don't want to remember what it looks like when we're are playing well.

That Murray trade f***ed us. I don't see a way out.
What are you looking at? Murray's addition didn't force us to start calling isos all game. McMillan doesn't know what he's doing.

Just now, NBASupes said:
I am realizing Trae and Murray only get Hunter involved is because defenses are too keyed into them to get their own offense going so they just give him the rock as it's the only option. We don't give players the rock willingly.
I don't think they're that nefarious. If they pass Hunter the ball, his only choices are iso or get a screen because nothing else is happening off the ball for anybody. I can understand their thought process (to an extent) that they can create a better shot on their own. At the end of the day though, that kind of basketball is uninspiring and has been unsuccessful when it counts.

I mean do you really want hunter and Collins shooting more?
We want more shots from guys who can't create shit?
You can get them easier shot opportunities by getting players moving off the ball and exploiting defensive lapses. They may not be our best offensive players but they're clearly not useless. Who wants to play on a team where two players are taking 52 shots? That's garbage basketball and it's not like the Rockets forced us to play through two guys.

Yall dont wont to here this, especially Northcyde, but
It will be hard for any non pg to produce on this team. Trae eats the ball for an entire possession and then expects the other 4 players to play 4 on 5 on defense. Then wants to outshine his teammates.
Hunter and Collins are doomed because you rarely tocuh the ball, and can't get a rhythm. James Harden Jr.
With that said Dre and JC are mid as hell....
I'm telling you, it's a consequence of the design of the offense. Trae isn't a selfish player, but if there is no movement off the ball then he has to look for his own shot first and pass only if a help defender comes. Same for Murray and Hunter. We are creating very few opportunities for ourselves via player movement and its a joke because we've got good passers that can get the ball moving.

How'd AJ only end up with 4 shot attempts after coming in hot going 3-3 from 3.
No ball movement. 14 assists for a team featuring two guards who are capable of getting that individually. This should be a wakeup call for the coaching staff.

It's pretty crazy Okongwu might finish this game with zero field goal attempts. I know he's been fouled a few times, but that's abysmal.

No. He shoots 20% from three, it's essentialy 8/10s of turnover
I don't think he will continue to be that bad of a shooter. If he has a good look he should continue to shoot, eventually it'll fall more consistently.

I hate this offense so much.

If JJ just stopped taking 3s he'd be a solid bench guy for us. His defense is actually really good.
If he's open he should take them. Not taking shots from the perimeter will hurt the offense more because his defender will be free to help on someone else.
