  1. I can see Ferry taking an interest in Jabari Parker being a Duke prospect. Would be nice to have on our team instead of Monta Ellis and Josh Smith having shooting contests on the court.
  2. There should never be a fan that likes the treadmill mindset. You should Boom or Bust.
  3. No thanks then. I would only do it if we could get a rebuilding piece in Barnes.
  4. Question, could Warriors sign Dwight without LA's involvement if we take on Bogut and Barnes for them? Barnes could be a nice prospect to have and Bogut is expiring. If LA turns that down to S&T Dwight, Hawks should jump at that.
  5. There is a machine-gun posting of everything right now. Sorry.
  6. We can still get a top 5 pick. Korver is a shooter. Hold and cold, let him shoot his way into giving us a top 5 pick. Have to sign someone to the cap space.
  7. Exactly. Just draft. Don't bring back the same ol' treadmill team.
  8. I hope we just start over instead of trying to please what little fan base there is in wanting Josh Smith back by himself. I would rather tank for Parker or Wiggins.
  9. NOBODY. Start with a clean slate > the same ol' Hawks. Just trade for young prospects and picks.
  10. understood. I say trade for any salary dump + young prospects/draft picks we can to meet the salary cap demands. I would also see if we can get any prospects/picks from a S&T for Josh Smith. Al Horford, as much as I like him, will be in his prime and could fetch us a nice package for the future as well, and having Horford on the team hurts our tanking chances for Wiggins/Parker/Randle. I would go at this as a clean slate for Ferry to build the new Hawks. Play the rookies this year with any young players we get in trades and have fun.
  11. I'm agreeing with you. I know a Ellis/Smith team isn't winning anything. I was just trying to use an easy way of saying PLEASE REBUILD. :)
  12. If we miss out on Dwight, Ferry could very well not sign Teague. If we are rebuilding, we would still need salary on the team, and I don't think Korver is a franchise player that pushes your team to the playoffs. He can be a hot and cold shooter, and that could also be a great contract to have during a tank (hot and cold shooter, shooting games away). Who says we won't see what picks and prospects Horford could bring us as well. If we tank, we fully rebuild as Horford is in his prime.
  13. I would be interested in a Bogut/Barnes salary dump or something like that.
  14. I just don't want anymore treadmill teams. Boom or rebuild.
  15. Hope you're right. I want nothing to do with a Ellis/Smith or Ellis/Bynum signing. Would rather play it smart and draft draft draft.
  16. Maybe we should do the same instead of paying Ellis to come here and be an 8th seed.
  17. I wouldn't roll the dice on Ellis/Bynum and have Bynum never play a game this season. We wouldn't be bad enough to get one of the top college prospects. I say go for the draft and rebuild with Ferry and Bud on the same page. We could quickly have a Franchise player with Wiggins/Parker/Randle instead of paying Ellis 4-5 years to shoot and shoot.
  18. So do we get a franchise player by trading one of our 5 or so guys under contract, or hope someone needs to unload salary by giving us a franchise player with bad contract players?
  19. Would that still be a "win now" team like others have put it (to me, "win now" means title contender)? If not, don't waste the money and years on players that won't take you there.
  20. Man I really hope Ferry plays this out smart/slow and don't panic into signing Ellis/Smith to sneak back into the playoffs. Rebuild if needed.
  21. If Dwight isn't coming here, would 2 of Ellis, Jennings, Smith, Bynum (risky) be enough to be a title contender? If not, there is nothing for us to trade to make our team "win now". So I say rebuild.
