  1. Point Guard Jeff Teague Dennis Schröder Shooting Guard Kyle Korver Kent Bazemore Small Forward DeMarre Carroll Thabo Sefolosha John Jenkins Power Forward Paul Millsap Center Al Horford Pero Antić Mike Muscala

So Payne would be Millsap's backup. Jenkins would be the 3rd SG. Mack the backup PG. Scott the 3rd PF maybe 2nd. I am not that impressed to be honest. The starting 5 are serviceable sure. But that depth is just wow...the scoring depth on this team doesn't really scare anyone. Also, this team has had some issues with rebounding, that is still not fixed. I would love to think the defense can carry this team, I am just worried about offense in a huge way.

So as it stands how do you guys really like the depth on this team? Try to look objectively.

  2. Going 7 games with the top seed without our best player doesn't SHOW you anything?

It would show something had this been the first time the Hawks have done this. It is like the Celtics series all over again. Fans were just waiting for them to lose. If they had won I bet the arena would have been packed in the next round...but again the Hawks do what they always do...lose in the first round (sometimes second...woohoo). Normally pushing a team to 7 games is great, unless you are the Hawks doing it again.

  3. 2015/16 plan

    1. Trade for K Love before all star break

2.Sign DeAndre Jordan/Marc Gasol in 2014 Free agency

    3. Sign Kevin Durant to max in 2015

    4. Championship

    2015/16 plan

    1. Attempt trade for K Love to get beat out by another team

    2. Try to sign DeAndre Jordan/Marc Gasol in 2015 Free Agency only to have them turn us down for another team.

    3. Try to sign Kevin Durant to max in 2016 and get turned down to either return to OKC or another team

    4. Maybe make playoffs and lose in first round or second round

    Fixed.

  4. What a dumb post. The real bright side is we have the option to swap picks with brooklyn and it's looking more and more like they may be in the lottery.

It was partially a joke. Relax. Don't worry we will make the playoffs and exit in either the 1st or 2nd round again and then be a middle of the pack team with a pick in the middle of the draft, and then not sign any big names next offseason either. It will be what every Hawks fan wants.

  5. This and this. Didn't the Gold Club trial teach us anything? Here, pro athletes can go to the club, 'entertain' the ladies, and not have to worry about their mug being on TMZ unless they do something stupid. There's a reason why Dwight Howard really wanted nothing to do with coming back home (allegedly).

But being that this is the case, wouldn't it be of the utmost importance to get the draft right? Thirty years, one All-Star player selected. The evidence is clear; the prosecution rests...

Three not 1...Horford, Willis, and Rivers....just saying.

  6. I like the deal, I just don't like that we have to be excited for it. In basketball terms, does this change our footing in the East, or makes our starting line-up better? Let's be honest, we could upgrade any and all positions, yet so far we have only through the draft and free agency added depth to our bench (question marks though, rookies/young/or declining vets). We are not a contender, nor even a top 3 team in the East, honestly.

I'm hoping there is more to come, and something that upgrades the team.

......on a team with Young and Kobe.......

    HAHA I didn't even think about that...wow...

  7. I thought that we signed an All-Star last year and a starter..

At least if you have the money, you have opportunities, even if it's 1%, but if you don't have the money, you have 0% of chances...

He was never an all star before he landed in the East with us. I think what everyone is upset about is that even the 1% is still pretty much a 0%. I mean with even 1 there is hope, we would rather just know instead of having hope if it isnt going to happen. Fans are fans because they want their team to win a championship. Many do not see the moves made or even the future looking like that will happen right now....so there is decent.

  8. Lets see what the odds become when Ferry has our final roster for 2014-2015 set

Well we did get Thabo and once the summer league is done we can see what we got there, and some role players may be signed as starters...good point, we might move up to 66-1

  9. I have followed the whole career of Pau and I don't know basketball without Pau... and I'm also a big fan of him... but I may stop believing on Ferry if it happens... omg 11M a year... are you serious?

I would only do it if it was a single year contract and Ferry doesn't like ANY of the others Free agents... which I see strange that he wouldn't like some of them. If it's because he doesn't want to mortgage our future with some players ok, but I wouldn't see it very well...

Real quick which future are you talking about? The 1st or 2nd round exit from the playoffs for the forseeable future? Or the non lottery draft picks we trade away? Or maybe the one where we sign a bunch of role players....just for clarification.

  10. This is the problem with the team and us as fans. We have been sold into this flexibility thing and continue to put out a middle of the pack team. The teams set the market price for good players. The Hawks refuse to pay for any difference maker and will continue to look for values. Teams seem to be able to take a chance on big names and recover if they bomb out. Not the Hawks, we have to maintain flexibility.
