  1. What??? Huerter possibly being on the move was mentioned for MONTHS by our insiders here. Supes went as far to tell everyone that Bogi has negative value in trades now and we would have to attach a 1st just to trade him, so of course that means if one of them were on the move it would be Kevin.
  2. Couldn't disagree more. I think it simplifies our offense, it's just going to be more of the same: PnR the other team to death with bigs along with support from the wings in spot up shooting and slashing. The difference is now we will have someone capable of running those actions when Trae is on the bench. So our offense shouldn't crater like it usually does with Trae off the floor. Not related, but I gotta drop this funny tweet in
  3. https://uproxx.com/dimemag/dejounte-murray-trade-fit-atlanta-hawks-trae-young/ I'll put the entire article in the quote below so it can be expanded to read...or not.
  4. Yep. The clincher for me to think JJ is going to be top 4 in the bigs rotation is easy: the Hawks apparent willingness to trade away both PFs from last years roster in Gallo and JC, without bringing in an outside replacement so far. You only do that if you think you have a starter and backup already on the roster: Big O and JJ it would appear. That's what the G-league was for. They got far more minutes than they would have gotten as rookies in the NBA.
  5. The biggest problem is Justin is 33 years old.
  6. Don't think it was me talking about them playing 50% together. However, the lack of overlap is the primary reason I'm still very much in favor of trading for Ben Simmons when most seem to think DJM makes him redundant. As we can see, we still need a 3rd creator if we want to consistently have 2 on the floor at all times. One of the basketball minds I respect agrees. And regarding Holiday as a 3rd PG? Not exactly. Especially not for us in our PnR heavy offense. It would be HUGE if Hunter follows through on his stated offseason goal of tightening his handle and if he could take a step forward as a creator. But that might be asking too much. JJ is obviously a candidate as well, but we still have to see if he's improved enough defensively to earn big minutes in the rotation. I have little doubt that JJ will be in the rotation, the question will be how many minutes he earns. But we also have to remember the rotation will tighten during the playoffs and Trae and DJM will end up playing more minutes together in the postseason.
  7. I actually didn't read your post above that you included again in picture form. I made the one point I wanted to make and didn't really care to dive into a debate about it. So I skipped it, for both our sakes as I have no desire to beat a dead horse....Moving on. Not sure what AKelly's Twitter clout has to do with anything when what they are discussing in their tweet is about a direct quote from Kirschner's linked tweet (whom you seem to respect), who was quoting our GM Landry Fields. Seeing how this tweet should help bring clarity to the friendly debate we were having about the minute distribution and/or pairing of Trae and DJM along with a possible backup PG, that is why you were tagged.
  8. This is who you are trying to educate.
  9. One thing I keep wondering about is how much will his presence effect Trae's defense. In several different ways. First, I would like to hope DJM's competitiveness on the defensive end will rub off on Trae, even if just a little bit. We all know the physical size and athletic limitations that Trae has will always prevent him from being an elite defender; but all also know he has shown he can be an average defender when he focuses on it and expends the energy required. If we can get more league average defense from Trae on a consistent basis that would go a long way. Second, maybe I'm alone in feeling this way but I've long believed that the main reason we don't see more consistent effort on D from Trae is because he has rightly prioritized where he expends his energy: on the offensive end. He has been the only offensive engine on the Hawks since he's been here, and when he isn't on we usually struggle mightily on that side of the ball. He has correctly prioritized where to spend that energy IMO. He could focus on defense and reach league average status; or he could focus on offense and be one of the best 5 offensive players in the NBA. Clearly he has made the right choice (assuming my assumption of conserving energy is correct.) However, now we finally add another high quality offensive engine in Murray. One who can also initiate the PnR offense we run through Trae. The entire offensive burden no longer has to fall all on his shoulders. Because of this, my question now is will we finally see Trae able to spend more of his energy and focus on both sides of the ball? So the two things I'm curious to see during this season: 1) does DJM's defensive competitiveness rub off on Trae, and 2) Does DJM's presence allow Trae to focus on defense more than he has in the past?
  10. We should all know by now people say a lot of stupid ish. Case in point: apparently there are many Utah fans who feel they got fleeced in the Gobert trade. Like, seriously? LMAO.
  11. And in the playoffs our roster's weaknesses got exposed by a team that was capable of playing switching defense and swarming our 1 playmaker. Your regular season .653 means about as much as Utah's great regular season records accompanied by their consistent 1st round exits: nada. We have improved our team. Be happy.
  12. Another trade such as....Cap and JC for Simmons?!
  13. That's a mighty big assumption. What if we weren't? What if what we have seen from them proved to our front office it wasn't actually going to be something special?
  14. One beat writers thoughts on today.
  15. Talk about Goberrated. Good gracious!
  16. Minny "really" said EFF THEM PICKS!
