Well the Spurs beat the heat without a top 10 player. That sounds like a really good compliment. Look man. The Spurs have never signed a superstar like ever. It's not the end of anything.

Every time I read anything you say, I keep picturing Oscar the Grouch. I'm pretty sure you get this a lot right? Look man. The Thunder have 2 of the top 3 players in the nba. They have great players around them too. They lost because they lack the system. So many great players never get a ring. The Lakers ran the triangle. All great teams have a system. Last year, the hawks looked great with their limited roster and first year system. Can you actually say you don't see any improvements whatsoever?

Danny green was a scrub and played in Europe and got cut twice by the Spurs. Now he's a sharpshooter and plays great defense. He can't dribble or create the offense. Patty Mills was playing in China and was fat. He waved that dam towel his last year, but he became a good defender and great shooter. He is undersized and can't make plays for his teammates. Boris Diaw was cut by the worst team ever in the NBA. He was overweight too. We signed him up and he became that glue guy that can take care of mismatches in the post. He isn't a great defender on bigs and gets scored quite often. Tiago Splitter can't really score but he can defend well. people were saying he was overpaid when he got that 4 year 36mil deal. They said manu was done last year. We signed him back up for 2 years. Tim tony and manu still have their imperfections. Every team can't be perfect. It's up to the coach to take advantage of their pros and hide their deficiencies. I think the hawks have enough talent to be 4th best. The system can take them further but that's up to the players.

You don't put all your chips on an unproven rookie. They all don't pan out. You bring them in slowly and in 4 years you extend them if they are good. Extend Millsap for sure.

I think you missed most of my points. You can't teach defense man. Either you have it or you don't. Bud isn't a miracle worker. You still didn't answer what do you do if you throw a big contract at monroe and he flops on the team. Monroe is nothing like a spurs like roster. He wouldn't pass on the spurs roster.

Lets get some facts out of the way. Millsap is better than Monore. FACT. Why go after a player that might not workout once he's here? Millsap has proven himself in the team. If you Snt for Monroe and he doesn't have the same or greater chemistry, now your in worse shape than what you started with. All because he was younger. Makes no sense. Did the spurs trade Duncan or Manu once they hit 30? That was 8 years ago. Is Tony a stiff once he hit 30? He was an MVP consideration last year(he was injured throughout this year from playing international ball for france). My point is 30 years old means jack. You have a proven better player and you want to trade him? That's bad management. Good thing you have Ferry, because they aren't even looking at Monroe(not a fact just speculation). That doesn't seem like a trade he would do.

Millsaps team averaged a 45win seasons in the west. 1 WCF exit, 2semis, 2 first round, 2 not making it. That doesn't look like a failure to me. You have the spurs, thunder and all these other top tier western conference teams. If the pistons were in teh west, they might have a lower lottery pick than what they had. Who cares about his age? You act they fall of a cliff or something. And there isn't any guarantee younger players get better. I'm looking at monroes stats and his WS/48 is at .100 from last year. FACTS Millsap scores more, blocks more, steals more, rebounds 0.7 less a game and has a .5 more turnovers. Millsap also has an average WS/48 of 0.152 Monroe has an average WS/48 of 0.126 One is a allstar and the other isn't. One is going to be paid at a good price while the other is going to be overpaid. I'd choose Millsap over Monroe 10 out of 10 times. One averaged 19 and 11 with 3 assist in 7 games vs the Pacers and the other didn't play any playoffs.

Monroe sucks, and he can't play defense. Low bbiq and hasn't played any playoffs. So he has no playoff experience. I think you extend Millsap next year. 12mil for a freaking allstar! Why do people complain so much? Your going to trade an Allstar that costs 12mil a year for a possible 16-18mil a year in monroe who by the way sucks? Anyways I'd get deng. He isn't a freak athlete or anything but he is a proven player.

The draft is an unproven tactic. The same teams tanking are still tanking. Never ending cycle. Maybe one out of every 4 teams manages to go out of the cycle and still manages a low seed(not an actual statistic). Unless you get a Tim Duncan franchise big, your still going to be tanking the next year.

Waiters is an undersized 2 guard and can't play defense. Not a good player.

Coach Bud ain't playing him 40+mins a game. He might average 35 mins a game. Look at the spurs roster. Tim and Manu are 38years old and they can still play at a high level.

You have an actual coach now. And you don't have the Lebron. wade, bosh big three. They cost 60mil even at a discount on lebron. Your big three cost 30mil. More money to build around them. I see this as a plus.

The potential is there. Look what teague and millsap did in the playoffs. If Horford wasn't injured, they would have had homecourt in the first round as the 4th seed and would beat any lower seed. They would then potentially beat a weak Pacers team. Maybe lose to the heat in the ECF but Bud has experience vs the Heat. Yeah it's all in the realm of what if's, but that's why we're on this board.
