During this incredible Hawks run ESPN has always had the Hawks as the 2nd or 3rd NBA story....honestly that's to be expected due to the fact that we don't have any "Star" or a character that can really lead a story. Verdict: Annoying but understandable. HOWEVER What is truly pissing me off is the ATLANTA Journal Constitution's total lack of front page coverage for the Hawks. Every night after a big win, I log on expecting to at least see a picture or two of the game on the main page............except it's never there. Today's headlines include the worthless Braves signing a middle reliever and a story about the Atlanta Streetcar opening....WOOOOOHOOOOO. The Falcons win? Can't find a damn thing anywhere on the page EXCEPT Falcons. I don't know what the behind the scenes relationship is between the Hawks and AJC but it's embarrassing and frustrating when this team is arguably playing the best they've EVER played and the hometown paper won't give them recognition. Shame on you AJC

If Gearons ONLY intention was to get Ferry fired, then yes he's a master chess player.. HOWEVER I think what he ultimately wanted was to have him fired AND regain control of the team. The latter AINT HAPPENING>>>NO CHANCE IN HELL. So he's just a moron that gave up his stake in an NBA franchise and his reputation is forever tarnished as an a hole who leveraged a race war to gain power.

Reading back through the child Gearon's letter....where did Ferry say "Ferry completed the racial slur by describing the player (and impliedly, all persons of African descent) as a two-faced liar and cheat." Talking about Deng trying to manipulate the media doesn't equate to him being a two faced liar and a cheat......Gearon REALLY has it out for Ferry. That being said...this sucks.

Nope! Given what's coming out about Gearon posturing.....THIS is what I mean by fishy.

Gearon isn't managing partner....nor will he get that title back. No chance.

But his mis step IS in isolation. He clearly stated that in 2 years with the Hawks, NOTHING that involved Ferry beyond this one incident came back negative. Also, he stated that Danny has been involved with the league for 20 years and this is the first time anything has come up. Sounds pretty isolated to me. You can't tie in 10 years of Levenson/ASG with 2 years of Danny.

LW3, Did you hear the comments from Tyler Perry? They were incredibly supportive of Steve and shared a bit of their past history together. Is Perry not part of the Atlanta community that's being directly affected by this? Koonin has a tough tough job ahead. PS. He was announced in April but didn't start officially until the summer. That could explain some of this?

I never said he didn't do anything wrong. I'm saying I don't believe everything in the "smoking gun" to be the gospel 100% truth.

So you're assuming that Michael Gearon is telling the complete and whole truth in that letter? How long have you been a Hawks fan? Gearon has been a meance since day 1.......seems VERY fishy to me.
