That would be up to the Hawks GM. THey could either forgive Thabo and Pero and move on, or trade them next season.. But i think they will forgive them because they are really important to the team system. But you never know what will happen...

I am like everybody else, I like to hear Thabo and Antić point of view before I put any blame on anybody.  Sure, he should just listen to the cops but at the same time, he might was trying to stop people from taken photos of this.  We will never know but I know that Hawks should filed a lawsuit against NYPD for this,

Sure he can do whatever he wants but if he's a grown man he should have made the right choice by resting and preparing for the game in the same day instead of clubbing late in the morning somewhere in NYC... Now the Bad thing is that he won't be able to help Hawks in the playoffs knowing that Hawks are blossoming this year and he's really important to the hawks because of his versatility and defense. The choice he made just slimmed down hawks deep playoff run chances...

What did i flame about? i just a made a topic if Thabo and Pero should get traded or just get a suspension. Is that considered as a flame?

watch out for over protective Squawkers.. i just made a thread about Thabo and Pero like a day ago, If they should get traded or just get a suspension, bunch of flamers started to show up and then the thread got locked..

Going to a club in late in the morning somewhere in NYC instead resting and preparing for game in the same day is not professional...

If Thabo didn't went clubbing he could have saved his leg and help the hawks in the playoffs.. He's important to the Hawks because of his versatility and defense.

Awesome play drew by coach Bud at the end. I think Coach Bud is the best Xs and Os type of coach in the league.

Hawks played a lot of fire and energy in this game. Moose played great!

The charges are misdemeanors which are likely fines if found guilty.

The NBA waits for cases to be adjudicated before issuing suspensions.

I hope the suspensions wont be too long, Playoffs is getting closer and Hawks need both of them to go far in the playoffs.

Ahh okay thanks for clearing that up, well thank god... i thought they were not allowed to play until june 16th..

So THABO and PERO wont be back until June 16. Is that a good thing or bad thing? knowing that playoffs is about start.. 

By the way, i just noticed that the the thread i made earlier got locked by moderators about  thabo and pero, if they should get traded or just  get a suspension, bunch of people were flaming at me, i apologized if that thread made some of you guys mad or misunderstood it for some reason, i wasn't trying to hate on Pero and Thabo...  i was just frustrated at them that they went clubbing late in the morning instead preparing for next game. I was not frustated about the whole arrest stuff...

UPDATE:

9:40 AM PT -- Antić and Sefolosha left the 10th precinct Wednesday afternoon and are headed to court for their arraignment.

12:30 PM PT -- The two Hawks players were just in court briefly. Each was charged with resisting arrest and Obstructing Government Administration. They were released on their own recognizance and are due back in court on June 16.

12:50 PM PT -- According to the criminal complaint, Antić and Sefolosha were told six times to clear the scene, but would only "move a couple of feet away but refuse to clear the area."

When it came time to arrest Sefolosha, police say he flailed his arms, twisted his body and kicked his legs. It took four people, according to the complaint, to get him into cuffs.

Some idiots in this thread. Losing respect for our players without knowing every detail and especially coming off a major win. Let those boys cook

 

Dude relax SMH.  The majority of NYC police are assholes.  That is a fact.

 

Probably went down like this...  Copeland and his lady friend were injured and waiting to receive medical treatment.  Crowd started to form around them.  Thabo and Pero seeing a fellow NBA player in need of help and space shielded them off from the crowd.  Police showed up and told everyone to clear the area very rudely.  Pushing, shoving and knocking people out the way like they always do.  Pero and Thabo get pushed by said rude officers and reacted.  Police of course need 20 police officers to handcuff one person... 

 

Pero and Thabo are lucky to survive. A lot of people who deal with the NYC police don't. 

 

 

im not hating...  i just said im losing respect to THABO and PERO for clubbing late in the morning instead of preparing for next game. It does not mean i hate them... some people like skinmaskway23 take my comments too seriously...

Im not overreacting, it seems like your over protecting them lol.. I have a lot of respect for THABO and PERO, im just frustated that their clubbing in 2-4 am in somewhere in NYC  instead preparing for the next game. Is that how a professional basketball player should be? Hawks are trying to prepare for playoffs, then PERO and THABO decides to club in 2-4 a.m. somewhere in NYC..

Clubbing 2-4 a.m. in NYC instead of getting some rest and preparing for the next game.. That's not very professional.. Hawks are soaring high right now, trying to establish themselves to a championship caliber team and trying to make something special in Atlanta but news like this just gonna bring distraction and problems to the team and organization...

Do you guys think that Hawks should just trade Pero and Thabo or just give them a suspension?

After reading this, Im starting to lose my respect to Thabo and Pero.. =(  I thought they are professional basketball players.. Clubbing in 2-4a.m. in NY instead getting some rest and preparing for next game is not very professional. It's like their taking their NBA professional basketball career for granted...

I wonder what their coaches, teammates, and hawks organization will think about them now... 

Also, im not going to be surprised if Thabo and Pero get suspended or both of them will get traded in next season..

I got a strong feeling that Pacers will steal the 8th seed at the end.. knowing that Paul George is back.. It would be like rematch again like last year playoffs but this time it's opposite. Last year Hawks was in the 8th seed and Pacers was the 1st seed.. Now  Hawks are 1st and Pacers are 8th. If Pacers get the 8th seed, Hawks vs Pacers will face in the 1st round again.. Now that would be really interesting matchup!

I don't like these kinds of responses when discussing team moves. You don't need an alternative to demonstrate that a move sucks. And in some cases, simply doing nothing is a better move since you don't have to do something. Well plus this kind of response for this thread is a bit pointless in itself, even naming an alternative doesn't take away from the pointlessness here.

This thread is pointless because getting pissy about Austin Daye pretty much shows you don't understand Austin Daye's contract. It is essentially a rest-of-season contract with a Training Camp invitation. We have sunk to a new low for the board if we are arguing about training camp invites at this point. We really need to get to the playoffs so we can talk about something that actually matters.

Im not hating on Austin Daye, that dude can still shoot consistently.. I just hope he takes this opportunity seriously with the Hawks and not waste it like when he was still with Raptors and Spurs back then.. I felt like when he was still with the Spurs, he did not  take his opportunity seriously. Just like Greg Popovich said "if u get offered with a job, you have to show that you really want it". Patty Miils and Danny green were great example of that. Danny green undrafted, he didnt shine in cleveland but when Spurs signed him, He just kept working hard and he's now important piece for the Spurs. Patty Mills was a fatass and outshaped in 2013 NBA finals.. In 2014 Summer, he decided to lose weight and want to help the team to reach the finals again in 2014, and he was a great significant why Spurs reached the finals last year.

In short, I just really hope Austin Daye learned his lesson from past years, and take this opportunity seriously that Hawks just gave him. 

Definitely look like hawks from January!!! Sharing the ball, executing, active defense and playing for each other. Great team win! It was fun watching them moving the ball and racking up the assist.

After watching hawks vs nets game today.. Hawksquawk Moderators can delete this thread anytime. 

Then defenses are forced to defend the perimeter and not camp out in the lane, which spreads the floor for offenses to attack the rim.

The only  one thing i usually noticed opponents taking advantage of hawks defense.. Hawks always help out on defense when an opponent is trying to drive in the paint, then he just kick it out to his wide open teammate. 

Shooters spread the floor and opens up driving and passing lanes. Rim protectors don't do that. If a team can't shoot well, defenses will lock down the paint and force you into shots you can't hit.

What happens if a team shoots well?

Hawks are a jump shooting team, every Hawks player can shoot threes.. I just don't get why Bud always sign shooters instead of a rim protector?  is it the system or  floor spacing thing? Anyone know why???

Hawks just signed  Austin Daye to a multi year deal.. i know him very well and spurs got rid of him because all he do is camp behind three point line and shoot, nothing else.. Also hawks are interested to another shooter named Reggie Redding, i watched his highlights from Alba, he has good mid range game and he can attack the basket... But can hawks go far in the playoffs by just relying mostly on jumpers???
