I surely wish Hoford had the same mindset as Duncan. Al is a multimillionaire so if he put the team first he could get his five contract but could also give the Hawks a discount like Tim has for the Spurs. Guessing it's a pipe dream. My hats off to Tim.

Same, hope he has that same mindset too, sacrificing for the team, if he does really care about atlanta

Hey Spursfan, in a close game Duncan didn't play hardly at all. Are you surprised?

No im not surprised at all, Timmy is always team first, and cares more about the team getting the win, whatever it takes

I didn't bash Teague.  I just said prepare yourself if you're a big fan that he isn't part the of longterm plan.  Schröder did have some bad possessions in the fourth.  So did everyone else--in the fourth and all game.  Geez, give credit where it is due.  Dennis was one of the best players on the court tonight and definitely was for the Hawks.

Teague is a solid PG.  Dennis is a future star and he showed it tonight.

    Okay.

  4. korver was guarded really tightly, Cavs knew they have to watch out for Korver. Even if Korver  wasnt able to shoot some 3s, he still helped by being a distraction, going off from screens and making other teamamtes open

Silver lining of the game.  27 points with five 3's on 50% shooting.  Whole team collectively shot 37% from the field--that won't last..

You all got to see the future tonight, fans.  He's not there yet--just scratching the surface.

How about those 2 crucial turnovers by dennis at the 4th? You're praising  so strong how good Schröder is, and bashing other hawks players especially on Jeff teague, almost seems like you only care about dennis not the whole team..

Teague should have been taking the dribble and shot every possession those last 3 minutes...big reason why they couldn't do anything, no star and Teague seems to statistically be the only one who wants to score in close games at the end

Yea  i think Bud trusted Schröder since he helped bring hawks back to tie the score, then Schröder made two crucial turnovers at the end, cavs took advantage of it and lead went back by 10

  7. It was a close game, hawks had a chance to take this game away, it just those turnovers and 50/50 balls.

Horf need to plays better, he wasn't really focus, in first half. Hawks pg just gotta keep attacking the paint consistently, and again with the rush 3s, only take 3s if its an open 3.

Defense was superb, thats what kept hawks in the game. They need to play defense like that in this whole series. But always  watch out for pump fakes, Cavs do a lot of pump fakes and  tries to draw a foul.

Hopefully Hawks will watch the film, learn from their mistakes and be more prepared in game 2

  8. Since Humphries didn't play against Boston series, I expect him to play this time against Cleveland. Last year hawks had a hard time rebounding against the Cavs. Remember that moment when Lebron became cocky and tried to show off his rebounds?  I really think Kris Humphries could be the X-factor for the hawks, with his physicality helping with boards and versatility to spread out the floor, give more driving lanes. Limiting turnovers are important too, Cavs are a high IQ team, they don't make a lot simple mistakes. Hawks really have to value each possession. Rebounding and limiting turnovers, and containing  Kyrie, Lebron, and Love. You can't stop them so you just try to contain them and make it tough for them.  If hawks do those things they will be in the ball game and have better chances beating the Cavs

I think the Hawks will get their opportunities with Bud's game plans, but i think their downfall will be their overall poor shooting. They get hot in streaks sometimes but it just seems like we have been waiting all year for the shooting to get consistent and it just hasn't.  I really think this team would have a high ceiling if it could just make some more of their open shots but i don't think our offense is going to catch up anywhere near our defense.   I don't think you can realistically at this point hope for the shooting to get better.

I agree, Hawks are not golden state warriors that can get 3s whenever they want to.. Hawks need to attack the paint, if there's an open 3pt just take it

Thats not a fair comparison, plus Tim Duncan had one of the biggest contracts in the nba for a few seasons. Star players who can sign multiple endorsements and pIay many years in the league should be thinking about taking pay cuts, not role players who haven't made as much. I don't blame Demarre for leaving for money since he didn't get as much as other players in his career, but Horford has made a lot of money so not too sure about him. I wouldn't lower my salary and so shouldn't bazemore.

its not about role players or star players or whos making more money.. it's about the loyalty on the team what im talking about, at the end it's still their decision if they want more money , go somewhere or will they sacrifice for the team

Players who sacrifice for their team not for money, that I really respect
