  1. Wow! We have more nationally televised games than the Knicks AND the Celtics! More than the Celtics! That's great! I'm really happy we're getting some recognition. I'm also happy to see the Pelicans have so many games, more chances to watch my favorite non-Hawk, Anthony Davis, play. We're the Hawks. On the big list of teams no one pays attention to we may just be #1. It's wrong, but it has been this way for as long as I can remember. I don't mind it though, putting a chip on a team's shoulders has never done it any harm. Also the Heat are going to be good this year. I really think they'll be a top 3 team in the east this year as long as they're healthy. As for the Lakers.....well...it's apparently Kobe's final year so maybe they gave them a lot of games for his sake? I don't really understand that one. I wish Lou Williams the best though. As a side note giving the Raptors' only 2 is a shame. They're a playoff level team and deserve to have more than just 2 games.
  2. I considered Josh Smith. Went as far as typing his name. But then I remembered his favorite shot is the 3 pointer...I had flashbacks...and that was the end of that. I'm honestly shocked Nikola Pekovic never got taken. I was considering him as early as the 8th round but ended up picking Asik to do the role of the big man rebounding specialist. Sure he's not young, sure he's coming off injury, but Pekovic is a very good player.
  3. I figured I'd be on the older and more experienced side with my team but a little shocked to see we aren't that heavy or highly payed. Maybe it's because of all those Spurs I picked up... before this team gets classified as 'old' I'd just like to remind everyone... Anthony Davis.
  4. With the final(?) pick of the 2015 Hawk Squawk Dynasty Draft the Paulding County Blazes select: Greivis Vasquez A solid player that can we can expect to have some reliable minutes if needed as a third string PG/SG for the Blazes. The true value in him is his ability to play 2 positions, something that the majority of this team is capable of doing which will allow us to run a variety of creative line-ups. Final Team: PG: Kyle Lowry, Ricky Rubio, Greivis Vasquez SG: Kyle Korver, Lance Stephenson, Manu Ginobli SF: Gordon Hayward, Luol Deng PF: Anthony Davis, Taj Gibson C: Tim Duncan, Omer Asik, Kelly Olynyk Coach: Steve Kerr
  5. Was really hoping I'd get him for my final pick. Almost picked him of Olynyk, I think he has great potential to develop. Great pick.
  6. With the 168th pick in the Hawk Squawk Dynasty Draft the Blazes select: Manu Ginobli I'm kind of shocked he is still around at this stage, sure he's old, but he still has some good years left in him. Ginobli will work as a big time shot creator in the clutch and a backup plan for Lance Stephenson. I expect Ginobli to bring his years of experience and aid the Blazes in getting their first championship. With the 169th pick in the Hawk Squawk Dynasty Draft the Blazes select: Kelly Olynyk Olynyk is a young guy that has all ready proved himself a capable NBA player. He is able to reliably stretch defenses with his three and he is known for playing arm breaking defense. I expect his game to grow in time under the tutelage of Tim Duncan and his shot to grow with the help of Kyle Korver. @AHF you're up. PG: Kyle Lowry, Ricky Rubio SG: Kyle Korver, Lance Stephenson, Manu Ginobli SF: Gordon Hayward, Luol Deng PF: Anthony Davis, Taj Gibson C: Tim Duncan, Omer Asik, Kelly Olynyk Coach: Steve Kerr
  7. Same where I live. There are honestly more Lakers and Lebron fans around here than Hawks fans. Also on a random side-note when I was at the airport I saw a lot of Braves gear and some Falcons gear but no Hawks gear. To be fair, I certainly wasn't looking, I'm sure if I looked I could find some but I feel like you shouldn't have to, especially when we are coming off of a 60 win season. I mean, I saw at Supersonics hat at the Seattle airport...
  8. Sorry for super late post. Had to make an unexpected flight to Seattle for work. Anyway, with the next two picks The Paulding County Blazes select : Steve Kerr (coach) And Taj Gibson. Will do a writeup after I land and get some sleep.
  9. Sorry for the late reply, its been a busy day. With the 112th pick in the Hawk Squawk Dynasty Draft the Paulding County Blazers select a player limited by a series of non-major injuries last season. One of the purest point guards in the league and a player I expect to have a great season next year on a rising team: Ricky Rubio It's rare to find a passer as gifted as Ricky Rubio at the age of 24. He is a player that truly embodies the PG position, share the ball, run the offense, shoot if wide open. Last year he hardly got any time due to constant injuries but I expect his health to improve this year and I have little doubt that he'll have trouble finding Anthony Davis for a lob, a sneaky pass, or whatever we need him to do. With the 113th pick in the Hawk Squawk Dynasty Draft the Paulding County Blazers select a player I personally dislike. A player that went from a rising star to a bench warmer in a single season. A player who is rumored to be one of the worse locker room presences in the NBA: Lance Stephenson Lance...well...I don't think anyone knows what to expect of this guy next year. He was great with the Pacers but he couldn't even make the second string with the Hornets. However despite this, the Clippers bet pretty heavily on him by taking his contract from them and well, if the Clippers are willing to bet that much on him, I'll bet on him to be a competent backup for Korver. Remember when he was with the Pacers? He was pretty solid in those playoffs! He had a lot of triple doubles that season too! Not to mention there was that time with Lebron when he...oh wow! It's 6:00! The summer league is on, guess that concludes the writeup for Lance. @AHF you're up! PG: Kyle Lowry, Ricky Rubio SG: Kyle Korver, Lance Stephenson SF: Gordon Hayward, Luol Deng PF/C: Anthony Davis PF/C Tim Duncan , Omer Asik
  10. With the next two picks the Paulding County Blazers select: Omer Asik (7.3 PPG, 9.8 RPG, .7 BPG) and Luol Deng (14.0 PPG, 1.9 APG, 5.2 RPG) With Tim Duncan on our squad it's vital that we have a solid backup as he will be playing very limited minutes for the bulk of the regular season. While Asik is certainly no Tim Duncan, he's proven himself to be a solid defender and a good rebounder and will certainly be a competent back up. As for Luol Deng...he's an elite defender that can score a variety of ways (including shooting the 3), rebound, and isn't a terrible passer. We are happy to have him. Blazemore's Blazers PG: Kyle Lowry SG: Kyle Korver SF: Gordon Hayward, Luol Deng PF/C: Anthony Davis PF/C: Tim Duncan, Omer Asik @AHF you're up
  11. Good pick, I was torn between Zach Randolph and Tim Duncan. Was kinda shocked both were still around.
  12. With the 56th and 57th pick in the Hawk Squawk Dynasty Draft the Paulding Count Blazers select: Kyle Korver and Tim Duncan doing the write-up now. Just figured I'd post real quick to speed things along. @ATLHawks3 you're up again
  13. It just seems like an odd decision to move your franchise PF to C in order to...huh...guess the Hawks did that and it worked for them...still not regretting my picks.
  14. I was wondering when Kevin Love would be taken. I almost took him over Lowry. I would've had to move AD to C though and I've never seen him play that position so I just decided against doing that.
  15. Wow that happened fast... With the 28th and 29th picks in the Hawk Squawk Dynasty Draft The Paulding County Blazes are proud to take: Gordon Hayward (19.3 PPG, 4.1 APG, 4.9 RPG) and Kyle Lowry (17.8 PPG, 6.8 APG, 4.7 RPG) Lowry's Raptors may have melted down in the post-season but that doesn't take away from what a stellar last few years he's been having. He struggled a bit from 3 last year but he's certainly not at the Josh Smith level so I expect him to be able to spread the floor a bit with that, but most importantly Kyle Lowry is a bona fide point guard. Something Anthony Davis has yet to play with in his entire NBA career. I expect that working together they will be able to run a 1:4 pick and roll like the best of them. The SF position is one where you are expected to do it all and on that front Gordon Hayward doesn't disappoint. He can shoot, dribble, pass, and rebound. This year he even added another facet to his game, a very important but underrated one...DEFENSE. Last year he had horrible defensive numbers by just about every metric but this year he has risen to be a...slightly above average defender. With the big three of Davis, Hayward, and Lowry the Blazers feel their stars are set. We look forward to adding some 3 and D glue guys with our next few picks! (and a Center I guess) Paulding County Blazes: PG: Kyle Lowry SG: SF: Gordon Hayward PF: Anthony Davis C: @AHF you're up!
  16. Remember this? He can do this. He had a bad year and an even worse playoff performance this year. I'd like to keep him for another year as a 10th or 11th option because he has the potential to get HOT. As for Mack...I like him, but we have Jeff and Dennis. A third PG is purely a luxury...
  17. I think it's @ATLHawks3 that's up, not me.
  18. I'll update this when I get off work but for now... With the first pick of the Hawk Squawk 2015 Dynasty Draft the Paulding County Blazes select: Anthony Davis
  19. I'm still up for this...I still don't post much but I'm here.

    Pero Antić

Let me start out by saying, I'm not an Antić fan. I joke and make fun of him all the time. I don't play H-O-R-S-E with friends I play A-N-T-I-C. Now with that SAID: He's cheap. He costs practically nothing and he is a good defender. He's a good defender that can even stretch the defense 25% of the time when his shot is actually falling. For what we pay him, that's worth it, bring him back. Don't get me wrong, I'm saying this PURELY from a cost vs effect standpoint. I don't want him being our first option off the bench. I honestly don't want him being our second, third, or fourth option off the bench. But, assuming some other team doesn't want to actually pay for him (In which case, let him go, I'd LOVE to watch a team flounder by paying for Antić) I say resign him to the minimum. He's worth the minimum. Maybe even a TINY bit more.
  21. I figured it was the fact that winning this championship with Love AND Irving out would do WONDERS for his legacy (something he cares very much about). I mean think about it, he leaves Miami, makes a super team in Cleveland, that team falls apart, and he STILL manages to get a championship by putting the team on his back. He'd love that kind of story.
  22. Iggy has always been one of my favorite players in the NBA. Even after that game winner he had on us last year I still can't bring myself to dislike him. He's an amazing 2-way player. When I heard Steve Kerr was bringing him off the bench I was absolutely shocked, but hey, it seemed to work. Glad Iggy is back in the starting line-up where he belongs. I've been saying for this entire series he's been the best at dealing with Lebron. Green (Despite being a great defender) just doesn't have the lateral quickness to guard him.
  23. THIS, Walter Taveres is slowly looking like the solution to a bulk of our problems...
