    That may be it.

Regroup and get it back in Game 4.

Nate MUST go big vs this team.  He has no choice.

It won't work. In the case of Philly it did because Simmons is a black hole on offense, but in this case, it won't.

This series is a wrap. Great run, but a gentlemen's sweep is looking fairly likely here.

Just because bodies are there don't mean they're contesting without fouling. They just aren't calling anything on them

Yea, that was the case on at least one if not two Bogi plays, but there was a couple plays where Gallo tried to feed a cutter and Young tried to feed somebody inside and they couldn't because of the bodies there.

Hawks shot 22 3's in the 1st half

    BREAKING NEWS

Bud's defensive system chokes off the paint.

I don't remember all of the possessions, but many of the times that they tried to get something easy inside, there were simply too many bodies there.

It's why one of the things that I said was they were going to have to shoot threes and shoot them well. There's no choice here at all.

Let's not forget either, that before the playoffs started and seedings were being finalized... most of us would have preferred the Bucks instead of the Knicks based on what we knew at the time. We were willing to slide to 6 just to get a piece of Milwaukee and avoid the Knicks.

One bad game shouldn't scare us when we know that we can beat these guys.

meh...if anybody was seriously in the camp of the Bucks being a better matchup for the Hawks than the Knicks...then they were way way off from the start...yes, the Knicks had swept the Hawks in the regular season and had given the team trouble in recent history, but you can easily argue the same thing with the Bucks...in which I remember a game during Trae's rookie year where they rested most of their starters and the Hawks still had to mount a major comeback to win, which had me extremely frustrated.

Shoot, my dad knows nothing about basketball (although he decided to pick up watching the Hawks again this season for a sports fix and said they were good "before" Pierce was fired) and he randomly guessed Hawks in 5 before that Knicks series.

This could easily be over honestly...I really "don't" think this is a good matchup at all, especially without this team at full strength. The Hawks were just better than the Knicks (and records+regular season head to head didn't reflect it) and in the case of Philly, recent history (besides this season)+Doc Rivers being the coach made for it to be an interesting upset special series from the start, but in the case of the Bucks, none of the above was the case.

In case you're wondering, I wasn't that shook by getting blown out by Philly in game 2 because the Hawks had recovered well before Milton went nuclear (I was in game 3 and with the first half of 4 though). I very much am here however and without a statement in game 3, there probably isn't much chance at much here...

Really? You think we'll play this bad and the bucks this good the rest of the way? Nah. We may end up losing but this game is an aberration, the Hawks came out for the first time with 0 energy. Trae looked gassed right off the bat.

I know the games have not come with Nate until recently but for the most part we've gotten thoroughly dominated by Bud's Bucks in recent years, and there's one game where I remember where I was so ticked off since their starters were resting and the Hawks still looked bad (even with the comeback). It's a completely different story than the Philly deal.

I didn't feel good after that game 3 but I knew in that case that it could be an upset special from the start.

  6. I would love to be optimistic but I just...can't.

All of y'all that were saying that this was a good matchup were wrong from the start. Remember, they've given Philly problems before and Doc Rivers has led playoff chokers. That's MUCH less the case here...

Doesn't diminish the run that's been made but it's likely over here. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a gentlemen's/douchebag sweep.

  7. I will note that when the Bucks stopped playing drop coverage and switched everything, that did slow down the offense.

But considering how stubborn I know Bud is, do we really think he'll take Brook Lopez off the floor entirely?

Switching everything will likely need to be adjusted to but hey, the Hawks have dropped every game 2 so far, so...

Although in this case, if you stop building a brick house from three, that could very easily change.

  8. I do not feel as good about this one as I did in the case of Philly. I remembered us giving Philly trouble even when this was a bad team, so that combined with facing off against Doc was going to make it a very interesting upset special series from the get go. In the case of Milwaukee, this is much less the case.

I would feel better if Cam and De'Andre weren't both out (let's be honest, Cam won't play even though he'd be very useful) and Bogi wasn't hurt (since he was great in the two games vs Milwaukee).

    Having said that...

    - This team doesn't know they're not supposed to win.
    - Bud's defensive system gives up a lot of open threes.
    - Those games where the Hawks struggled vs the Bucks came with Lloyd Pierce.

Perhaps the 20/21 Hawks are last year's Heat, only with it being more impressive because the Hawks have won 5 road games in hostile environments now, with the Heat doing what they did last year in a bubble with no fans.
